So the ale house I wanted to revisit near Woodfield (Bulldog something or other?) closed, unfortunately, and this was where we landed for an early dinner instead. Loving how Yelp's always a help to find new places in the area to try. Service was pretty quick, but on the food front, it was all pretty mediocre. In my efforts to cut back on red meat, I opted for the black bean burger and side of green beans on this visit. It was alright. The black bean patty was heavily seasoned with dry garlic and onion, and I had a major aftertaste. I indulged in a strawberry lemon martini, which was a bit cloyingly sweet and not the most balanced in flavor. As usual, the kids' menu was a hit, both from the child's standpoint of finding something yummy to eat and the parents' from a value perspective. They get a side of choice (tots, fries, green beans), and it comes with a drink for $7-8. Plenty of roomy seating (booths and tables), fireplace on the wall dividing the bar and dining area, and ATM available at the front.

Ah, yes. The ambience! The quintessential bar/pub. Loved the look; loved the atmosphere (not too noisy- always a plus!). We walked in, we were promptly greeted by a nice looking fellow who passed us over to someone who - it seemed - knew not where he was taking us- he returned us to the front counter where our nice looking gent took the menus from him and he directed us to a high-top behind the bar- a great location to view the restaurant and take in the menu!A quick local IPA later, hub-hub and I decided to do a nice little split- i got a bowl of chili (sans onions, as is my taste), and also some chicken tenders (breaded with Cap'n Crunch and corn flakes), as well as some pork ribs with fried shrimp. Wow - ok - the food:The chili- for a bowl? It was mighty small. But it tasted great. The only drawback (which i found out over the next few hours) was blowback - methinks the beans hadn't been soaked before cooking (hence the blowback - maybe blowout instead?). Still- it was great. The chicken tenders - coated with Cap'n Crunch and corn flakes - were, at first taste, terrific. But then they quickly overwhelmed with sweetness. Oh my. A few more corn flakes; a bit less Cap'n Crunch, please! Otherwise, delish. Now the piece d'resistance- the pork ribs were absolutely THE BOMB. So tender they fell off the bones. the sauce was spectacular - and the fried shrimp (never a fav of mine normally) were just done up VERY well. Needless to say, we were too full for dessert. I only wish they served flights of beer, as I loved their selection of brews! Yup; we'll be back. Demerits only for the misguided initial server who - apparently- got lost while trying to seat us, and for the too-sweet but otherwise delish chicken tenders! We'll be back though- we liked it enough to say "yup- we'll return"!

Went here a couple of days ago to catch the Bears game with my cousins. I had been here quite a bit in the past, but since moving from the area, this was my first visit back in 5+ years. Everything seems the same, even the majority of the menu. And the food is still solid! We started with the pulled pork nachos. I absolutely LOVE the way they do nachos here. They top each chip with meat and cheese, so there are no naked chips when you get to the bottom. Each bite has toppings, and a healthy portion, too! It came with fresh sliced jalapenos and sour cream, and we added a side of guac. We also had a black bean patty Inferno and a medium rare Inferno. The relish is awesome, has a nice spicy kick from the habaneros. We washed it all down with a couple of mules and old fashioned cocktails. Not a huge bourbon selection, but they have the key players (Jeffersons, Maker's, Woodford, etc). I need to make my way back here more often!

The food is really good here! The burgers are incredible- seriously! The southwest egg rolls are a must and I will always order them for our appetizer. I've had their salads which are also very good. Every year for Easter, they offer an unlimited brunch buffet with a nice variety of options- fruit, sweets, breakfast food, dinner food, etc. Love the ambiance as well. It usually gets pretty busy on the weekends. There are plenty of TVs for watching sports and they have a decent beer selection. Service has always been good. No complaints at all!

Went with a friend to just visit mid day. So it was not busy at 3pm on a sat lol. We decided to just have some appetizers. We chose the pulled pork nachos and spinach artichoke dip. I have to say I love when the nachos are all made individually. I get a perfect amount of toppings on each and not a bunch of plain chips. The pork was seasoned nicely not over powered or to smokey. The onion strings were fresh and lite not greasy or heavy. The artichoke dip was very flavorful I have not had that in a long time so not much to compare to. It seemed well balanced and delicious. Had a lil leftover and was still good later lol. And the nachos were also good leftovers. Our service was fabulous. Guys first day. He was very helpful and wonderful at being attentive. It was even his birthday and he was still smiling to be at work. The set up inside was nice and not cramped the table were spaced apart. Will be back when in the are

Flight got cancelled and had to stay a night in Schaumburg. Looked for somewhere to get a bite near the hotel and I'm so glad I stumbled into this spot. Great vibe, terrific beer selection. I was tempted to get the meatloaf or French onion soup but my body needed some greens after a long weekend. Seriously one of the better Ceaser salads I've had. Chicken was moist and croutons were freshly made. Chatted up with some of the locals, and bartender (I forget your name, sorry) she was cool. An authentic spot with a timeless, relaxing vibe which is just what I needed. Hope I somehow end up back there someday!

Been here twice. Once a couple years ago, and once a couple weeks ago. Honestly, I plan to visit more and try more. Their servers were attentive. The atmosphere is nice. The food was all good. This place is kind of hidden (of course easy to find with GPS; just not on a main road). Give them a try!Thr ribs and fish & chips I had were very good! We also tried their southwest egg rolls, and burgers. All were tasty. My wife said the egg rolls were a bit overly salty, but good still.

We have become new fans of Stonewood Ale House. Their selection of beer and beverages is great but it's a lot more than that. Their food has been consistently good each time we have been here Their service is good and their staff is always really friendly. Many might not realize that they are actually great for groups. They have a bar section of course, but they also have a pretty large seating area dinning room. Their music is at an appropriate level for the dining room and there are plenty of TVs if you want to watch a game.
