We went late in the afternoon so the skewer options were not available. We asked for some recommendations to the staff, and decided on the lamb and eggplant. Both were delicious. The eggplant especially shined with the deep flavors and perfect seasoning.

What a gem! Was visiting Houston for the first time and came across this place on google and so happy I did! First off, I love the decor lol. But to the important part, the food! So so delicious and I wish they were in Austin. Fyi, they normally don't have skewers during lunch (when we went), but they were super kind to make us some! The skewers were so delicious. We got an assortment and they all came out hot and flavorful. Honestly can't go wrong with any of them. We also ordered some entree items such as the beef fried rice, the beef noodle soup, and vegetables. We loved every single item which is rare when ordering so much food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food that is also reasonably priced!

The Stone Age Crepes was delicious with Asian sausage & super savory. I liked the Grilled Enoki mushroom too. The lamb skewers I thought was a bit tough and over cooked. It probably could taste better with some type of dipping sauce too. Very flavorful Garlicy scallops. It was delicious even tho it was a tiny scallop and mostly glass noodles. But I love garlic so it's yummy

Excellent lamb sticks. Not too fatty and not too lean. I love their spicy peanuts. Scallops was good too. They are open late here.

The inside is very decorated and pretty. Although some foods had too much condiments on the food and the wait time was long, the food was still good. Highly recommend this place.

Good mainland Chinese street foods. A big portion of it is fairly spicy so if you enjoy spicy foods this is a grand eatery. Priced exceptionally well. Funky and odd interior. Friendly and quick easy serving staff but their English is not very good, so you better have a bit of knowledge on what you want to order before coming in because it feels like you're transported to China.

Jin's cafe used to be one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, now it has transformed toStone Age, so I know the food won't disappoint. My go-to dishes would be grilled lamb chops, all time favorite. Their new dish korean style beef intestine hot pot, all the skewers are good too.

I always want to try new restaurants whenever they just opened in Houston Chinatown. Stone Age Street Food 石器时代大排檔 is the newest addition to Metropole Center, next to Jusgo Supermarket. By looking at the menu, I couldn't figure out what region of food this restaurant serves. So, I decided to try it in person. I think it qualifies "street food" because of style of cooking. Skewers, pots, sizzling plates and stir fry dishes are the indications of street vendors dishes. There's a restaurant that serves similar food at the same building. I wonder if they would compliment each other. I'm not too concerned about that. All I want is to have a good time eating good food. Service was fast. Shortly after I started eating, there were other customers walking in to fill up half of the restaurant, plus few tables on the other side. That's a welcoming sign for prosperity. I ordered Special Grilled Lamb Short ribs 酥烤羊排 and Dough Drop & Assorted Veg Soup 疙瘩汤 initially. Then, I added Grilled Cabbage 烤包菜 because I need vegetables in my diet. Everything was so delicious. The lamb was served on a wood cutting board. The ribs were tender and topped with spicy mixture of dry peppers, fried garlic, fresh scallions, crushed peanuts and other savory spices. This was not as spicy hot as I thought. The soup was very flavorful. It was thick and filled with inconsistent shaped dough drops. This type of noodles soup is a rare find in Chinatown. Last time I had it was at Kuen Noodle House, but it closed. The restaurant seemed to have an internet app controlled TV playing live music videos. Because music kept getting interrupted like someone was browsing through the menu. I would come back to try other dishes after it officially opened. I felt great after finished everything in one meal.
