Great, tasty brunch today with friends. I ordered the steak frites with a side of bacon & white cheddar grits. So yummy! I also enjoyed the $5 Bloody Mary, and our friends tried the $5 Mimosa (4 different juices to choose). My husband really enjoyed the coffee, noting how smooth it was. We will be back!

After a relaxing salt room meditation session at wood house , had initially planned to grab dinner at Stir. They specialize in crafted ice tailored towards the drink you order. The ambiance was OK, the server was cool and prompt. The drink was tasty, however; the menu was unappealing. Ended up at Capital Grille, but may have to head back over to experience the food at some point. Unika B. & Co.

Yikes! Things have changed at Stir in Raleigh. The hostess even agreed with me... confirming my observations by telling me they've had "a lot of turnover" This was one of my favorite places to go. I used to come in and sit at the bar and order oysters. The bartenders were always personable and conversant. Not anymore. And not for a long time. Over a year ago I came in on a Sunday to sit at the bar but instead was directed to a wobbly table in the high top bar area, with servers rushing past, literally making the table shake every time they walked by. I left rather than order. More recently, the removal from their menu of some items I really enjoyed. (Shrimp Louie Salad) the representation I got the last time I ordered it was a clear indication it should have been taken off the menu before I walked in that nightMore recently, I can not seem to shape my appetite to the hours their kitchen is now serving. Plus, with my work schedule, I tend to walk in for dinner on the early side. Evidently during shift change!! I lost count of how many times I was asked by my bartender (BREAKING THE SILENCE) to close out because they were leaving. I needed to write this out because I keep making the same mistake and going there because it's conveniently located. The menu has changed. The management has changed. And the service has absolutely plummeted. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I hate, more than anything to write this kind of review. But if it leads to some improvements for future customers, then that would be fine with me. I just don't think I can go to STIR again with any hopes of it being as good as it once was.

Overall the experience was eh. It's clean and aesthetically pleasing. The bar has great drinks....if they have them in stock. There were a few things that were on the drink menu that they couldn't honor because they didn't have the liquor. I'm my opinion for the price....not worth it. The service was good. Shooters were $20 a pop. I ordered one of the cheapest things on the menu. Streak and fries. Didn't care for it. We also went for dinner and I know that their brunch is a different experience. It was so so.

It was a comedy of errors for us at STIR Raleigh. We came here for after-dinner drinks and sat in the dining room. Here's what happened:1. Our friend ordered her go-to drink, an Aperol spritz. She instead was served a Tito's Vodka & Tonic ($20), a drink which looks and tastes completely different. She told our server and our server said the drink was indeed an Aperol spritz. Lol. We laughed and joked that our friend was being gaslit by the staff at STIR.Photo (see drink in back): https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stir-raleigh?select=XHtB2ucQcPWweimjzTDQEw&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJgShe sent the drink back and eventually did receive a correctly-prepared Aperol spritz. We believe that our server truly didn't know what an Aperol spritz was and just trusted the bar staff to correctly fill orders.2. My wife ordered a Field of Dreams ($12.00), made with gin, honey, lemon, lavender bitters, seltzer, and toasted lavender buds. She instead was served a Wild Moon Child ($12.50). According to STIR's drink menu, the Wild Moon Child "blends vodka, with lime cordial and STIR's housemade strawberry syrup. Aperol and fresh lemon juice ad [sic] extra vibrancy." Like our friend, my wife was served a completely different drink. My wife told our server and sent the drink back. Later, our server returned with one of STIR's bartenders to help clear the confusion. The bartender explained the Field of Dreams was on the online menu only and that it wasn't available. Without telling us, a Wild Moon Child was substituted instead. Maybe the staff thought we wouldn't notice. Or maybe there was a miscommunication. Whatever the case, since the Field of Dreams wasn't available, my wife ended up ordering a Wild Moon Child. She liked it enough to order another (she had two total). On the bright side, our other friend's drink order, a sangria, was correct on the first try.3. When it came time to pay, the receipts were illegible. I think something was wrong with the receipt printer.Photo: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stir-raleigh?select=WttMshF5852Wc8oLBTaPXg&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJgOn top of everything, service was slow. We could only laugh about what had transpired. We don't blame our server. She seemed like a nice, sweet person, who was trying her best on a busy service night. It *was* messed up how the staff tried to pass off two incorrect drinks to us and not even tell us they intentionally substituted one of the drinks. We came here because our Aperol-spritz-loving friend had been here before for drinks and really liked it. She said her experience this time around was completely different, needless to say, for the worse. Our visit was on a Saturday night from about 7:30 to 10:00pm. The restaurant and bar were busy when we arrived. We had reservations booked through OpenTable. I recommend booking reservations for this place because it seems popular. Also, STIR Raleigh awards OpenTable dining points. Not every restaurant does, so that's a plus.In addition to its bar, STIR is known for oysters, seafood, and brunch. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am to 2:30pm. And they're open late, until midnight or 1:00am, seven nights a week.STIR Raleigh opened in June 2019. There are at least three other STIR locations: Chattanooga (flagship), Charlotte, and Knoxville. STIR is part of SquareOne Holding Company, headquartered in Chattanooga. The company has several bars, restaurants, and breweries in North Carolina and Tennessee (and Florida). Carolina Brewery, in Chapel Hill and Pittsboro, is one of the SquareOne brands I'm familiar with.STIR Raleigh is located on the ground level of the Bank of America building in North Hills, next door to The Capital Grille (same building). We found free parking in the building's deck around the corner. We entered and exited the deck via Dartmouth Rd.

My mother, who was visiting from Little Rock, Arkansas, inspired me to seek out a nice dining spot with excellent food. Despite not being my top choice for dining, I decided to take a chance on STIR, as I knew my mom would appreciate the menu. With a reservation in hand, we were promptly seated upon arrival. The only reason I rated the restaurant a 4 instead of a 5 was due to the initial smell when entering. Our server, Conner, was exceptional - kind, attentive, and well-versed in the menu. We ordered the cheeseburger egg rolls, fries, a kid's cheeseburger with fries, and the poke bowl. My mom enjoyed her egg roll, and I found the poke bowl to be delicious and satisfying. While I opted for water, my mom and son chose cranberry juice, which received high praise from them. As we left, the restaurant was beginning to fill up, and I was grateful we could enjoy a quick, satisfying, and delicious lunch.

Visited for dinner time. We made a reservation although when we arrived, it did not look too busy and we're quickly seated. Started off with the bisque and fries. Our main courses were the lobster Mac and cheese and mahi mahi bowl. The soup was delicious. Fries were a little soggy for our taste, but still very good. Our main courses were a hit! The ambience is nice in the a way that they have the option to open the doors to the outdoors so you have a nice breeze coming in. Would recommend this place! North Hills is always a favorite.
