We have been here quite a few times. Great for small groups. Any time we have come as a huge group it would take 30+ minutes to just get drinks. Recommend if you have a lot of time with a group to be prepared. Food is amazing! Everything from the biscuits to the birria is amazing. My favs are the poke bowl and chicken fried steak.

Service was horrible and meals were way over priced for the quality of the food. Ambiance was nice and clean. Took forever for the waitress to serve us refreshments and had absolutely no personality.

Service was warm and friendly and also great about guiding us through the menu! The decor and mood in the restaurant is super fun and eclectic! They had a sign with a funny phrase! Loved that! Menu was large and had great variety, I tried the fried green tomato and pork belly sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese and both were delicious! The atmosphere was upscale but relaxed, the bar had a large assortment of taps but a fairly small wine list. Our waitress was terrific, friendly and attentive.

During a visit to the Houston area, the suggestion was made to dine at State Fare Kitchen & Bar. We arrived prior to 5pm and we were about the only patrons in the restaurant. I was very surprised at the decor, wasn't expecting an establishment with such a name would have such an upscale vibe.Service was on point, and our waitress/server was very attentive and knowledgeable as it pertained to the menu options. I was having difficulty deciding between 2 entrees and asked for her opinion. Without hesitation, she gave me the pros for both meals but suggested her fave between the two. I trusted her judgment and went with her suggestion.The food portions were very generous, to say the least, and tasted very good.The prices were very fair for the quality of food and for the portion size.I highly recommend State Fare Kitchen & Bar in The Woodlands! A winner for sure.

State fair kitchen is definitely one of the best brunch spots I've gone to in The Woodlands. The services are amazing. She gave us great recommendations on the food, as well as the suggestion of the mimosa flights. The food was so good, and the ambience was nice and laid-back. It's a little pricey, but it's definitely worth it.

We weren't sure what to expect when we entered after reading some of the reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised. Restaurant was very pretty inside and felt more expensive than the name implies. I couldn't help but notice how the servers expertly moved about the dining room and touched tables even if they weren't their own. Freddy our server was excellent in every way.The Breakfast Club cocktail is a must have. A perfect expresso martini with coconut, and an excellent wake up. Birria Benedict was terrific, eggs perfectly cooked and really tasty beef.I had the griddle cake. Huge! I had to bring half home. It was perfectly cooked, but paying a $2 up-charge I definitely want to see blueberries in my griddle cake. A few total didn't quite make the grade.Why only four stars? When we first entered the person greeting us was a bit brusque and short with us. She seemed frustrated that we made a reservation, but there was no table ready. Although not our fault, she gave the impression she was annoyed with us.Little did we know the general manager Kim was also at the desk....A true delight and master of service recovery! Bright personality and truly cared about us and getting us settled. She came by often and even stopped to chat. Felt like we had just met what would soon be another member of our Texas village. We will definitely return! Thank you Kim and Freddy for a great brunch experience!

My daughter wanted to go here to celebrate her birthday. It was a Wednesday night. The older lady at the front desk was not welcoming at all and none of the servers said not one word to us when they served our food. They seemed bothered that we were there. Our waitress was good, she was happy to serve us. The food was ok but not enough to go back. My advice is to visit this restaurant and maybe you will get better service than we did.
