Soooo the food was delicious! The drinks were a bit pricey for brunch. The frozen martini is not frozen, we were a little confused (see pic). I went with a group and we each had a different dish. Oysters - refreshing Steak - tenderSammie - not your ordinary sandwichBiscuits - dangerous, don't eat too many before your good comesFrench toast - sweet and whipped cream was home made. I needed syrup, but I like things extra sweet. Our server had a mix of a snarky/posh attitude, but I didn't mind it. He knew his menu. Everyone seemed to be dressed in there nice casual attire

I went with a group of friends on a Wednesday night. The parking lot was full but there was plenty of street parking nearby.Due to our larger group size (seven), we were seated in the covered patio area. Our table was clean and spacious, and the silverware was nicely arranged. The staff were kind and attentive. The menu had plenty of options to choose from, with vegetarian options available as well. I chose one cold plate (grapefruit) and one main dish (salmon). Overall, the presentation was nice, but the food itself was okay. You can consider checking out this spot for the good vibes and service if you're in the area.

Apparently, they neither need nor want your business. My daughter wanted to go to Squable for her 24th birthday. Had great service and food on prior visits. Our family is a party of seven. Pursuant to their website and Resy, I emailed about a table for seven on a Sunday evening 10+ days in advance. No response. I emailed again about three days later. No response. I called and left a voicemail message. No response. Two days later, I called and spoke with an employee who told me a manager needed to make that reservation because of the size of our group. She assured me that she would get my message to the manager. No response. No future effort will be made on my part to eat at their restaurant.Recent review seems spotty. New ownership? New management?

This is a cute little spot in the old heights. The inside is small but they have an outdoor covered patio. The food was REALLY good. We enjoyed everything all of the food but my favorite was the French toast. The drinks are okay. I was one and done. Drinks were a bit pricey for the size and quality of the drinks. I will definitely be back for brunch tho!

After couple failed attempts to secure a prime time reservation, we finally had the chance to check out Squable. Located in the Heights off of 19th St, limited parking is available in the adjacent small lot or on the streets near by. This cozy neighborhood restaurant serves casual European food with American influences. Our party of four followed the recommendation to share the dishes family-style to fully explore the menu. Cocktails: Nice flavors and presentation, but a bit less on the quantity and alcohol content for $15 per drink. Appetizers: we tried the chicken liver pate, marinated mussels, beef tartare, gold rice, and smoked sweet potato. My personal favorite was the marinated mussels, good flavors and texture with a generous amount of mussels. The gold rice had very solid flavor but the portion was pretty small, for a $16 dish, we each barely got a spoon full. Other appetizers were satisfactory but lack the wow factor. Main plates: we ordered mafaldine pasta, local mushrooms and French cheeseburger. The pasta was the best of the three. The bed of veggies/ mushroom soup base in the local mushroom was quite salty. The cheeseburger was overcooked (ordered medium rare as recommended but came out medium well) and overly cheesy for my personal taste. The side of fries came out separate and at least 10 minutes after we already finished the burger. While the location, ambiance and menu make Squable a nice option for a date night, the items we tried so far falls short of giving us reasons to frequently revisit. That said, I'm open to exploring their brunch options or giving their menu another go if they make seasonal updates.

Having passed by multiple times, it's nice to finally see what all the commotion was about on the inside. It's an upscale casual European/American dining experience that is best done with another couple or some friends. Plenty of parking outside in the dedicated lot, no valet required. They recommend doing family/tapas style and it makes sense, as the portions can be quite small with a few of these dishes. The real way to experience this is just by ordering anything that kinda catches your eye and to order outside of your comfort zone. The best things I had here are the items I wouldn't have typically gravitated towards, and I was rewarded for being adventurous. Some stand outs for me were the mussel toast, truly an insane amount of mussels piled on top here and an umami bomb of flavor to go with it. Sneaky good local mushrooms, didn't think this would amount to much, but I found myself coming back to this plate a lot. The beef carpaccio was paired with a nice sourdough and had some addictive layers of taste that I kept snacking on. A couple things were just good, but didn't scratch any culinary itches for me, and when you have a menu that's this tight they kinda stick out for not shining as brightly. I think the hit rate for the food items might have been 50/50 in terms of bangers/non-bangers. The drinks weren't as strong as you'd hope at $15+ a pop. Had 2 over the course of an hour and the expected buzz never materialized, they tasted good though. If the menu rotates pretty regularly, as I assume it does with the seasonal flair it appears to have, I'd come back to see what's new.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!Food atmosphere and service each deserve 5 stars. This might be my new fav brunch spot. I have been thinking about this food every day for the past FIVE DAYS. It was that good. They do a great job here with flavor. It's family style and our server told us two plates per head is recommended and haha no. That's way to much food. I should've put my hand by these plates for reference. We were both stuffed at the first two plates- and trust me, we can eat. Not pictured is the French toast and breakfast sandwich. Such a good menu, yall!

This was my first time at Squable, and I was very impressed! The restaurant is small, but the ambiance is very nice and intimate. The tables at the restaurant are very innovative. They have a small drawer where they keep your silverware to avoid a cluttered table. In terms of cocktails, they were very good and had a good variety on the menu. The food was served family style, which I prefer because I rather share food. The food was delicious and different! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to try new food and cocktails!

After all these years, Squable still never fails me, whether I'm entertaining out-of-town guests or enjoying a cozy date night. Across double-digit visits, however, I have come to harbor certain opinions about their highly technical, chef-driven menu: 1) the meat dishes are solid, but the seafood and vegetarian-forward offerings are even better, 2) they operate on the saltier end of the spectrum (a waitress told me last time that "Chef Mark loves salt"), which suits my palate just fine but may rub more sodium-sensitive folk the wrong way, and 3) what some plates lack in size, they make up for via richness and diversity of flavor/texture, so don't be afraid to go for some of the more diminutive options. The front patio is quite nice and fully enclosed with heat lamps on standby, so fair game regardless of weather. The cocktails are pricey ($15 each) but well-crafted and unique. I particularly like the Elbow Room, a fantastically balanced spirit-forward concoction containing calvados, genepy, and yuzu. They recently revamped the menu, so this review reflects their new fare:Chicken Liver Pate - Excellent starter to kick things off. The potent spread was sweet, creamy, and funky, offset by a sweet jam. Raw Bluefin Tuna - nice refreshing summer bite between the crisp raw fish and pops of orange with lemon zest. Great deal given the fat pieces of tuna. Fried Shrimp Cocktail - I underestimated this one and boy was it delicious. So simple and classic yet prepared with impeccable technique. The tempura-battered exterior was super crunchy, the flesh inside was soft and meaty. The texture contrast was incredible. Buttered Charleston Gold Rice - elevated comfort food in the form of a creamy and decadent risotto topped with a savory oxtail stew and charred green onion stalks. Strong dish. Marinated Mussels on Grilled Bread - this is a staple and something we never skip because it's just that good. The fragrant mussels are steamed in white wine and herbs and somehow are a match made in heaven for these thick garlicky beans. The whole thing is served cold with a sprinkle of parsley and dill. Guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Corned Duck Breast - not the most creative dish, but well executed as per usual. The sweet bird was delightfully juicy, and the accompaniments - parsnip puree and a carrot mustard - brought some pungent and buttery flavors to the table. Poached Leeks - the flavors here were phenomenal, between the funky and cheesy buttermilk sauce, dill, croutons, and black pepper, but I wish the leeks were a little more tender rather than crunchy. Tater Tots - decided to splurge for this insanely luxurious side, which comes topped with a cognac hollandaise, smoked trout roe, and chives. The square tots, cooked in bacon fat, were crispy as all get-out and predictably mind-blowing. Are they worth $50? That's for you to judge - I was certainly not disappointed. Local Mushrooms - extra hearty vegetarian main plate that is an umami explosion. Healthy char on the shrooms and a variety of textures make this dish come to life. Seared Ora King Salmon - Really tasty with a classic beurre blanc, but ultimately not as interesting to me as some of the other dishes on the menu. Mafaldine pasta - Rich, hearty, and sizeable pasta with a funky and earthy meat sauce. No complaints. Get the Pain de Mie dessert and thank me later.

I usually like my closet spots to eat and have my regular spots. But an opportunity presented itself to visit Squable. I have heard great things about the restaurant and ultimately it was to also celebrate a close friend's achievement. The restaurant was a bit of a trip but it is in a nice area around the Heights area. Dining inside was already taken and sat with the outside tables. But it was nice and shaded. The restaurant has this nice greenhouse look to it. Everything on the menu was interesting but was drawn to the French cheeseburger. The portion is a first for me. I am accustomed to a monstrosity of a burger with super thick fries. But this was smaller yet flavorful, dedicate and that melty raclette was amazing. I don't reach for mayonnaise for fries often but I could get used to it. We did also received the budino dessert. Light, pleasant, and a great way to end the meal. A chocolate mousse with the hazelnut pieces. The staff at Squable are great too. Everyone from the wait staff and food runners. Michelle was our server and she was very attentive to us the whole time. Very nice and friendly. Eileen was also one of the staff that was amazing too. She was helpful to answer any questions we had on the menu. Both were great and made the experience worthwhile. Overall I enjoyed my visit to Squable. It is a nice place for those brunch outings. The parking can be a bit tight but was fortunate to find a spot. The price does match the quality. I would like to come back. I would like to see how dinner service is compared to the time we went.
