I just tried this place for the first time and it was great! Definitely a local independent restaurant and you can tell how much passion and care they put into the food and service. Get ready to be overwhelmed by yummy sounding options, just be sure to order the naan! Don't be turned off by the converted diner building, this place is the real deal!

Small space inside and limited seating outside. Parking is tight and limited space. We were first in the restaurant. We got water without ice. We have asked twice for the ice, and then we got glass full of ice. It was hard to use it. And we saw the rest of the table got iced water with lime in it. I'm not happy with this cold service. Food came fast.Mango Lassi- 3.5/5 - not too sweet, which I like, but the consistency was not good.Chai old fashion - 2.5/5Ipa- 4/5Mushroom Manchurian - 3/5 - Mushroom is cooked nicely, but Gravy is a little sweet and with more artificial color.Malai kofta -5/5 - great curry with tasteDal makhani - 4/5 - nice curry without greasyLaccha paratha - 4/5 - edges were hard to eat, but it was thinOnion kulcha - 4/5

The Spice Room did it again-amazing Indian food! We ate way too much went to bed extra full but when the food is that good how do you stop? The chicken Shahenshah is our favorite dish and we always get that with naan and we've started getting the french fries because french fries and curry is just an unbeatable combination. I'm a big fan of their Chana saag and the sag paneer also very good. In fact I've never had a bad meal there.Lately we order all of our spice room online and pick it up and eat it at home and I've been really impressed by their commitment to using sustainable packaging. Everything almost everything that they use is compostable, which is amazing.

5 stars for the service! Prabesh was an excellent waiter! Good prices on the lunch menu. The momos were divine and perfectly seasoned. They do take a bit longer to cook, so would recommend ordering them early. We tried some unique dishes, the mango chicken curry and the honey curry. Medium spice packs a punch, in a good way. The honey curry was very sweet, more like an Indian version of a sweet and sour chicken, with fried pieces dripping with honey. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it'd be good for someone who wants something more suited for an Americanized palate. The mango curry was delicious! There's also happy hour 3-6pm weekdays with $5-$6 drinks.

The Spice Room is such a delightful restaurant! We popped in for a bite after a long bike ride and were pleased with the service, food, and ambiance. Absolutely delicious and will definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommend!

Spice Room is my favorite Indian food in Denver! I enjoy both takeout and dining in. They have quick and friendly service and tons of great options. I love all the curries but my favorites are the aloo saag and paneer makhini! Their naan is not my favorite as it's often hit or miss.

My experience at this Indian restaurant was nothing short of a culinary disaster, marking a new low in my global quest for good food. As a frequent traveler and a fervent admirer of Indian cuisine, I've come to expect a certain level of quality and authenticity. Unfortunately, this establishment not only fell short but managed to redefine tastelessness. From the moment I entered, it was evident that this place would be a letdown. The waiter, seemingly oblivious to the nuances of the dishes on the menu, failed to provide any helpful insights or recommendations. This lack of knowledge set the stage for what would be an utterly disappointing dining experience. Our order included the staple yellow dal, a dish that should be a straightforward testament to the flavors of Indian cuisine. However, what arrived at our table can only be described as a culinary crime. I pointed out to the server that we had ordered yellow dal, and his response was baffling--he claimed the dark brown concoction before us was, in fact, yellow. I was left speechless, grappling with the audacity of such a claim and the blatant disregard for authenticity. The methi malai mushrooms, a dish known for its rich and flavorful profile, were shockingly devoid of taste. The absence of seasoning rendered the dish not just tasteless but downright unpalatable. It felt as if I were chewing on plain naan accompanied by water, a culinary offense that defies the very essence of Indian cuisine. The disappointment didn't end there; it extended to a paneer dish that reached new heights of mediocrity. Lacking the vibrant spices and flavors synonymous with Indian paneer preparations, this dish was a profound letdown, further contributing to the overall dismal dining experience. To add insult to injury, observations of the owner and staff eating and then directly handling food without washing their hands left me disgusted and concerned for the well-being of anyone daring to consume a meal here. Such blatant disregard for basic hygiene practices is not only unprofessional but poses a serious risk to the health and safety of customers. In all honesty, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone. It not only falls short of the standards expected from an establishment serving Indian cuisine but also raises serious concerns about food safety practices. Save yourself the disappointment and potential health risks--steer clear of this culinary catastrophe. This place, regrettably, deserves no stars.

Food: this place is so good! I love their naan so much. They bring out garlic naan and it just envelopes you in all of its garlicky goodness. I got the garlic cheese naan last night and it was phenomenal. My friend got date naan, which is turning into a new craving of mine. The sweet and savory combo is lovely! The chicken Tikka and makhani were both superb! The food came out piping hot. The rice was yummy too.Service: The service was good too. My water glass almost never had the chance to get lower than halfway. We were served within 15 minutes of arriving even though it was Diwali and we didn't have a reservation. (Save yourself the stress and call ahead!) Our server ran a tight ship and got us out of there in less than an hour which was perfect so we could make a movie across town.Ambiance: it's a bustling palace when it's busy. I had only done pick up before and didn't realize it is a pretty small restaurant. It was lively though on a holiday and a Sunday night. It was loud so conversations were a little louder than normal.

First time trying this place but it won't be the last. The food was very good. I've tried many Indian restaurants and this is going to the top of my list. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing as well. Every one was so nice and they definitely know how to provide good customer service. Will definitely be coming back again.
