Spec's - Shepherd

Average Specs store. They did not have what I was looking for. Came here a couple of time looking for a specific whisky. They always say it's allocated.

Small enough store to find what you need deceptively large enough to have something for everyone. While not at the same scale as their location in Midtown, the River Oaks location is an excellent find for all your liquor purchases. You can easily wander around searching for great wines for your party.

When I can't treck all the way to Spec's Midtown, Richard's is my spot. They recently moved up the street from South Shepherd next to the Red Lion over to Shepherd and San Felipe. The lot's easier to get in, and you have entrance from both sides of the streets (Shep and SF).The selection is smaller than Spec's, but you'll be in and out if you know what you're looking for. Unfortch, they didn't have the vodka I was searching for (Deep Eddy Ruby Red), but the kind gent said they're expecting a shipment soon. He then gave me a non-alcoholic mixer that was about to expire. Cool.

A smaller specs good for a quick stop. Good selection. The service is average Specs level not intrusive but available.The parking is a challenge.

Parking was a little hard but otherwise this place is great to zip in and check out. I did not expect this size or the selection in here. Pleasantly surprised! Nice and helpful staff!

Not to be confused with Pecs, which is where I shop for chest muscles.This is a brand-new Specs store on Shepherd, which is much smaller than some of the other locations.It used to be an independent alcohol shop and now it has switched over to the major brand name. It's pretty good and is in a pretty great location for us since it's close to home. It's popular with the neighbourhood too.

I picked up a bottle of Angels Envy off the shelf, it said underneath it on the shelf it was the regular price I would expect to pay, around $43 after cash discount. Instead, they had placed a $110 bottle on the shelf and charged me for that. Since I had a big order, I didn't realize until I got home. When I returned to the store 10 minutes later, they would only refund me $95 for the bottle because of a "restocking fee." Of course, they didn't tell me this until after this transaction was completed. Don't go here, they are either morons or completely dishonest people trying to rip you off. I don't understand why some Spec's stores are great, while others like this one are just terrible. I'm never going back, even though it's the most convenient for me.

I moved in the area a couple months ago and the service was ok. It's been progressively getting worse. I make a run about once a week and stopped in this evening. The line was 6 deep and there was 3 red shirts behind the counter. 1 checking, 1 bagging and 1 on his phone. There are 2 registers at this location. This location is WAY below Spec standards and is nothing more than a package liquor store, with low level employees!

I used curbside pickup today & was pretty disappointed that 2 of the employees I interacted with were NOT wearing masks & they stood less than 6 feet from my window. I love the concept of ordering online & having them place the order in the trunk but I'm very reluctant to use their service again knowing that the company doesn't care to have their employees wear masks to help reduce the risk of getting coronavirus or passing coronavirus to the customers. PS: The store's sign actually says Spec's so the name on this Yelp page should no longer be called Richard's.
