Was hanging out in Durham and decided to check out this spot. I got the vegetarian Cuban sandwich which I have not seen at many other places and the yuca fries. The sandwich itself was okay. Was very salty and the flavor seemed off slightly but overall decent. The yuca fries were a good choice with the dipping sauce that comes with it. The space inside is spacious with plenty of seats when we went. The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. You can also order online to go. For parking, you can park on the street or deck parking. Prices were slightly higher than expected but appropriate for downtown Durham. Overall, a cool restaurant with a variety of options. Unsure if I will come back but recommend trying it if you are in the area.

Cool way to celebrate a birthday.... Have a food truck cater the party! The Spanglish crew served up some delicious Latin cuisine. Started with the pernil mallorca melt... mouthwatering pork roast, slow-cooked & fork tender, on sweet-ish mallorca bread with melted cheese and a spoonful or two of the pork juices. Excellent.Next, a Cuban sandwich. The same pork roast, this time with as slice of ham, Swiss cheese and sliced pickles, slathered with mustard on pressed mallorca bread. A great rendition of a Tampa-style Cuban but missing that Cuban bread. Also tried a trio of empanadas. The beef is a hearty mix of chunky beef, well spiced, juicy and tender. The chicken is chunks of white meat, with slivers of carrots and other vegetables. A little more bland than the beef, but still flavorful, moist and tender. Each was ensconsed in a traditional half moon pastry and fried deep, golden brown. Not at all greasy, these were crunchy, savory and delicious.Honorable mention to the s'mores empanada. The same half moon pastry, stuffed with chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker, then deep fried. WAY better than your standard cookout s'mores; these were decadent and sweet. The perfect dessert to top off the meal.Be on the lookout for this food truck. Really good food - fresh and delicious.

I was impressed with the menu. Quite a few choices. I had the beef empanada and mofongo with Meat and plantains. Empanada was good. Mofongo was well done. My one recommendation: the mofongo is served with a mayo/ketchup mix on the side. I'm not a fan of that. I was hoping for a more typical broth (I guess I can order that separately). Next time I'll try the shrimp mofongo. Friendly service.

Gotta put a caveat here: I grew up in the Bronx eating Puerto Rican and Dominican food on a daily basis from friend's parents, friends, local cuchifritos - you name it, so while I'm giving Spanglish a 3, if you're not looking for super authentic, consider this a 4-star review. I'll start with the good. The desserts, sauces and empanadas are all on point. The beef and maduros empanada especially stood out, but the Pinky and the Bean was amazing as well - perfect combos of fried, crunchy dough on the outside, and moist, sweet and savory flavors packed on the inside (Abuela's chicken was pretty bland, though not dry). The vanilla flan was more like cheesecake, but I enjoyed it more than my wife did, who was expecting a more classic flan. But the real star of the dessert tray was the tres leches coquito - amazing. Wish I had four of them. As for the sauces, all packed with tons of flavor and definitely homemade. This is where you can see the real love shine and make me wonder if we just ordered on an off night, because without these amazing, powerfully-packed sauces, most of the food was just eh. These sauces rescued it, though - especially the ajo(mojo). For starters, the mofongo was dry, crumbly and didn't have enough garlic or pickled onions. Kind of felt like it was day-old mofongo. The stuffed avocado was just an avocado sliced in half and topped with ropa vieja - total low-effort there. BUT, the ropa vieja was really, really good. You can taste the beer braising liquid with each bite - definitely recommend that.My puerco fritas was pathetic. I mean, really, really pathetic. Maybe 9 or 10 half-inch cubes of rubbery fat. Totally not enough for a meal, even if I wanted to eat them. The rice and beans were decent, but definitely lacking in the flavor department (ajo sauce to the rescue!). My wife's dish (I forget the name now and don't really care to look it up, but it came with mofongo, maduros, rice and beans and some pork) suffered most of the same setbacks - plus they left her maduros off. Hers did come with some kind of sweet BBQ-ish sauce that was, once again, off the charts good. So there was some salvage operations going on. The queso fritas were really good, especially in the mayo/ketchup yellow sauce (think Alpaca) but the fried pork belly in maple sauce was just bleh. And really not much for the price. Overall, we were pretty underwhelmed. No real food value, no real quantity value. Not sure if it was an off night, or this place isn't as good as the Durham spot (since that one seems pretty epic from the review), but we won't be going back/ordering again. Shame because there really hasn't been a go-to place in Raleigh for quality authentic Hispanic or Latinx food, especially since Oakwood Cafe shut down.

So I'm boricua from NYC and know good and well what crispy pork chops should be like. This ain't it. They fried the pork chop to hell and back. It was so tough and leathery I couldn't even eat it. And it wasn't even seasoned! Like come on. You can get a good crisp on a chop without cooking it beyond being edible. The beans have no flavor too. It's like sazon or adobo or garlic or sofrito don't even exist. The maduros were delicious though, but it's really hard to mess those up. The tres leches cake is delicious too, but I paid too much money to be served bland pork jerky. Couldn't even enjoy the fat. No amount of hot sauce could help. Just sad. Folks this ain't comida criolla.

What a great addition to the Raleigh food truck scene! My boyfriend is Puerto Rican so we were extremely excited to try Spanglish.Their tostones were the best ones we have had. They come with a delicious dipping sauce that just goes perfectly.I ordered the pork-u-pineapple empanada. There was something about the flavor combination in the meat that I'm still craving today! The crust of the empanada was perfect. I can't wait to try more of their food!!

My boyfriend and I went to the Lazy Daze festival and decided to try this food truck for lunch. I ordered the Mofongo, which is chicken chimichurri with a side of mashed plantains. My boyfriend ordered two chicken empanadas. Both of these dishes were delicious, but once again boyfriend won the best dish battle. I would definitely try this food truck again since it was fresh and delicious!

Pros, food quality, had Cuban sandwich and it was delicious.Cons, size of sandwich was underwhelming for the $10 price. Left me hungry. Also menu board prices it $9 but the guy working the truck charged me $10. When I told him of the discrepancy he didn't offer to correct the charge, not even an apology. Nor did he correct the menu board. I was hoping he would to support that it was an honest mistake but he didn't and I checked it later
