Southern Maid Donut

We happened upon this place and what a nice surprise. The variety of kolaches - fresh and warm - and the highlight -- Vietnamese coffee. So good. Friendly service and fast.

Amazing!! So delicious!!! They have the best croissant sammiches!!! Lol. Their donuts are fluffy and the owners/staff are so sweet and attentive.

I genuinely don't like giving 2 or less star reviews but this place was very underwhelming. The lady behind the counter was very nice but her service was remarkably average. The entire store looks very poorly thought out and clunky. It seems like it's trying to be a dunkin style donut shop but has lunch food as well, giving it more of a convenience store feel. The donuts were solid. Not overly good, not totally bad. I ate the two I ordered, glazed and coconut and enjoyed them both. The iced coffee I ordered was pre-made and self served from a pouch dispenser. Definitely not worth what I paid for it. I really think this place would benefit from getting back to basics and focusing on doing one thing great instead of a bunch of things below average. Either be a lunch spot or a donut shop and go from there.

Super nice worker assisted us. We got three doughnuts. The selection was sparse at best but we walked in five minutes before closing. The nice lady gave us an entire dozen doughnut holes! Score! They were so very fresh! We tried the kombucha, first time r er and they were delicious! The jalapeño one was the best and had the most flavor. Highly recommend this establishment!

Really great sausage and cheese kolaches. The dough is different than Kolache Factory, it's much softer and pillow-y.Western breakfast taco is also a strong play if you can decide- it has one of every animal.

Stopped by after going to the UPS store. I got one chocolate frosted raised donut. I took one bite bad to spit it out and throw the rest away. The donut smelled and tasted like gasoline or acetone. The smell was so pungent and chemical I even had to take it to a different trash can.

This place had good donuts and good kolaches but i got a iced coffee and it was sour.. they didn't change out the bags i almost threw up. I went back in and she said nooo it's good.. then she opened it and the bag was empty so she put a new one and let me get a new iced coffee.. most likely won't be back

Oh my goodness my favorite place is Krispy Kreme, and I had ordered from Southern maid donut, and I was just amazed at how soft how flavorful, and how fresh these donuts were! I have yet to go into the business itself to see how the services or the ambience is, but I do give them five stars because this is the next best thing to Krispy Kreme! I just don't like the other donut places around Texas

This is my go-to shop on my way to work. If you're heading southbound on Hwy6 they are located on the shopping strip to your right between Shell and the Mercedes Benz dealership. Plenty of parking in the morning. Always greeted with a kind smile. They have lots of options from breakfast croissants, tacos, biscuits, drinks in the fridge, coffee, kolaches and of course DONUTS.The donuts always taste fresh and they will usually throw in a few free donut holes with your order. The breakfast tacos are a hit or miss for me. They do not taste freshly made that morning. They taste made the night before. The tortilla is a little hard on the ends and cheese doesn't melt well when reheated. They do make great recommendations and will offer to warm up your items if you prefer.I really love their plain glazed donut. It tastes like Shipley's and Krispy Kreme had a baby and yay out came South Maid Donuts. Really good donut to icing ratio. I believe you can call a large order in ahead of time. So if you're planning to bring tacos or a few dozen for the meeting, give them a call and they will probably have it ready before you arrive. There are a few tables to lounge at if that's what you are looking for but in my opinion, this is definitely a pickup and to-go type of shop. Good people, good service and especially good donuts.

The perfect combination of light and fluffy. I ordered donuts and cinnamon rolls. Both were top notch and I will return for more
