Tom, Lisa, and the entire Southern Harvest Team truly treated us like family from the moment we met them and constantly went above and beyond to make sure every single aspect of our wedding menu was perfectly tailored to our vision and budget. Tom arranged for us to attend MULTIPLE private tastings and was extremely helpful in offering up suggestions about what kinds of dishes/setup would work best for our venue and guest count. With his help, we selected a southern/local menu that guests absolutely RAVED about. On the day of the wedding, the entire Southern Harvest team treated my partner and I like royalty, frequently checking on us to make sure we had drinks and food and making sure that we were being completely taken care of. They even personally served us at the beginning of dinner so we wouldn't have to go through the buffet line and packaged up to-go boxes for us so we'd have dinner for the next day. Several guests remarked on the Southern Harvest team's warmth and hospitality, so I know our guests were also treated to an evening of amazing service. By choosing to work with Southern Harvest, we literally saved THOUSANDS of dollars (compared to what we would have spent if we had gone with one of the bigger catering companies in the triangle area), but the quality AND presentation of food, service, and professionalism could not have been topped. It was such an honor to have a catering team who made us feel so cared for and celebrated. Seriously, hire these folks! Our wedding day was made so special because we did!

It's no surprise to see the incredible ratings that Southern Harvest is getting. This was our groups first experience with Southern Harvest. Rachelle Howard handled everything - turnkey. We had about 140 people from 17 states in town for a regional NSX Club of America closing night banquet. Food and service was 5 star.

Southern Harvest catered our at home holiday party and exceeded our expectations. The food, service, and execution made for a fabulous event. Laura helped us with menu planning, working within our budget, and providing a team for a flawless evening. I am planning to use this company again in the near future. I would highly recommend this catering company and team of professionals.

Southern Harvest catered our wedding at the Museum of Life & Science. We had a mixed experience with Southern Harvest, so this is a hard review to write. We got married at the museum of life & science and chose southern harvest because they are the only catering company that is allowed to use the onsite kitchen and because we loved our interactions with Laura. Throughout our planning process, the main contact changed to Falon, who is incredibly nice and knowledgeable about weddings, in general. She was invested in figuring out how to make things work for us. But there was a bit of a learning curve as she adjusted to the new company. We met many staff members throughout group tastings and other Museum events. But when it came time for our private tasting, of our actual menu, there wasn't a single Southern Harvest employee present. Although most of the food was good, we weren't able to try everything on our menu for some reason. After discussing it with Falon, she arranged for a second private tasting, at no cost to us, to remedy those issues. That tasting went great! We didn't have a problem with communication at any point during the planning process. However, on our wedding, everything fell apart. Service was terrible. We didn't recognize a single staff member at our wedding. We were missing some of the food that was on our menu and we were missing some of the specific items we had asked for (e.g., a carafe of water on our sweetheart table). Staff were slow (or just didn't) refill our container of canned sodas. We had to ask multiple times for staff to cut the cake. We never even got our take home boxes of food at the end of the night. This wasn't a case of things go wrong but guests have no idea. The majority of our guests were aware of several of these issues - there were no buns initially for our sliders. And our food stations were just separated buffet tables - there weren't staff at them as we'd thought. It was so bad that the owner contacted us by email the next day, apologizing and offering to make it right. He did give us a partial refund, which is a nice gesture. But it doesn't change the fact that one of the most important aspects of our reception was a complete fail. The food they did make was good, and it's fresh since they can use the onsite kitchen. But once we got our photos back, it turns out that 3 staff used our photo booth. If we'd had great service, that would've been fine. But instead it's just irritating since the service was so bad. Overall, I'm not sure if we can recommend them, so we figured we'd just lay out the pros and cons that we experienced. And there are so many really positive reviews of Southern Harvest - it's definitely possibly that our terrible service was just a fluke. But just in case other couples just aren't reviewing their negative experiences, I wanted to make sure our entire experience was represented, for future couples to consider when making their catering decision.

Did a great job at our wedding! We were able to find a menu that we loved, including hors-d'oeuvres, soup, and a carving station, all within our set budget. They provided a waitstaff, and also served drinks for us. Highly recommend checking them out if you have a budget but still want to serve a yummy and fancy catered meal.
