South Philadelphia Tap Room

The SPTR is exactly the type of place that I would create in a lab if I had access to some Weird Science type of machine. I'd cut up pictures of my favorite parts of my favorite bars I've ever been to, and I'd throw them into the Weird Science machine, and it would spit out the SPTR.- Good enough beer selection. I don't need to be overwhelmed. Just give me options for however I'm feeling that day. - Really tasty food. The burger was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. - The vibe is great. Going solo? Going on a date? Going with friends to hang? You can do all of those things here. - The staff were on top of everything. - Good music. What does SPTR have that you don't need or want? I can't think of a single thing. I feel even more blessed that my good friends live right next to it. Will definitely be back.

Great find! We were hungry after a long and underwhelming experience at the Philadelphia Wine School. We noticed SPTR has a kitchen that's open late, and we were fortunate enough to get a table (around 10:00 PM). This place has upscale bar food and cocktails. The four of us ordered a few items to share - Vegan Cheesesteak, Crispy Brussels, Wings, Roasted/Buffalo Cauliflower, and a killer Peanut Butter and Jelly dessert that knocked our socks off. Everything was delicious! Our server was super funny and chill. He made great recommendations and checked in on us regularly.So glad we happened upon this place!

Very nice casual bar atmosphere. The service was super quick and friendly. I got the burger and it was delicious nothing to complain about !

Warm and welcoming space, the drinks were very well made. However, the food was a mess. The Mac and cheese doesn't even look like Mac and cheese, the grilled chicken was just okay - I do not recommend. The burger was very average as well. I definitely recommend and will definitely be back for some drinks and chat, but I will definitely not come hungry.

Sorry, used to be great. But it's been 100% awful the last ten times. Can't do it any more.

We went him on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised. We got seated right away. There was a decent selection of beers on tap, it extensive. We both had burgers and fries and they were so good. The service was prompt and good. One of our burgers was not cooked to specifications and requested it be redone; the server was very gracious and took it back and brought another burger cooked to perfection. I am not looking for perfection but let's acknowledge concerns and correct them. Thanks for being that place.

Cute old-fashioned bar feel, Hogan's Heroes was on tv when I got there. Lots of local beers on tap and cocktails too. Burger was great but the fries are phenomenal. Great late night spot.

The chicken sandwich is amazing, and to make things even better it comes with a huge pickle and a large amount of fries. So good. I also liked that there were several options for local craft beers on tap.

I love this place. It is just a good bar to go to and have a meal. It is the perfect spot for everyone to sit comfortably and be able to hear each other. The staff is always amazing and work extremely hard to make sure your experience is great. Their homemade ketchup is beyond. Their food is consistently great and fresh. The food always feels above regular bar food. Their options are great and include vegan options. Their drinks are above other bars in Philly too. Did I mention everything is super affordable as well. Go and have a few. It is a wonderful place to enjoy each other's company.

Pretty over priced happy hour and limited menu overall. The different shade of purple was very concentrated and needed watered down to drink. The chicken cutlet sandwich was good and a decent portion but nothing to rave about. The service was good overall. There wasn't very many stout IPA options for a tap room and limited selection of IPAs.
