Munchies is a latin/cuban restaurant that had different empanadas, sandwiches, tacos, rice, baked goods and more... When you walk in its kinda fast paced if its busy so when you get in line be ready to order because you'll hold up the line. There were tables to sat at if you dine in. There were also outside tables but if you sit outside be prepared for pigeon's galore. There's no way i could eat outside with that many birds surrounding me. That's just me, but if that's your thing, enjoy!!! You and all 200 pigeons sort it out.. Lol... If they fly off with your food don't say i didn't warn u...I got the chicken and beef empanadas. The dough was good but the inside was a little dry!! But they still had good flavor. If your looking for a good place to try some authentic food stop by!!! Check them out!!

This place is fire af . If you got the munchies and want a little of everything without breaking the bank you gotta hit this joint up. We got 3 empanadas, some potatoes meat stuffed thing, a Cuban sandwich, breakfast burrito and a papusa all for less than $60!!! They have a green and red salsa that are both soooo good too! We asked for a couple more salsas and he brought us the whole squeeze bottled of them! Great service there! Guy was sooo nice too.

This place really surprised me! We got the pork chunks with sweet plantains and red beans and rice and the fried chicken with yellow rice and a side of black beans. The pork was crispy and cooked perfectly as it was juicy and tender. The fried chicken had a good crisp as well and the beans were saucy and flavorful. The onions were a bit raw for my likely. The price was great too for about 25 total for 2 meals. The service was good and they were places to eat inside and outside! We be returning!!!!

Ordered 2 empanadas de carne y un papa relleno de carne with one guava and CHEESE pastillo unfortunately the pastry was just guava. The empanadas in my opinion were a bit dry like the inside of them. I am Puerto Rican so I do know that we make ours a bit differently. I don't think these were Puerto Rican style, but it was a bit lackluster for me. I'm used to beef and bananas having like peas and potatoes. Inside of them. This was literally just ground beef barely seasoned inside of the empanada. The staff was really kind no complaints there

Great hole in the wall just off South Beach.Sometimes you just get tired of fancy foods. After paying $60 for breakfast my kids didn't want to eat, I was craving something plainer. I went to South Beach Munchies and got a Cuban beef empanada and a papa relleno. Both were very good.I came back the next morning to buy some food for breakfast. I got a huge container of cut fruit, some yogurt, and a smattering of Latin American treats (I did a study of empanadas -- Cuban, Venezuelan, and Argentinian). The owner was there at that point, and he told me the difference between the different empanadas and also gave me some hot sauce that he thought would compliment the food well. A ton of food that lasted for more just breakfast for four, and for less than $30 with tip and tax. All the empanadas were absolutely delicious, and the hot sauce was excellent. The fruit was awesome -- very sweet papaya, berries, mango, and pineapple. This is a must-return kind of place, my favorite kind of place to find.

I wish Munchies wasn't a hop skip and a jump from my apartment because I am constantly tempted every time I walk by. I've sampled quite a lot of their treats as well as their Their fruit bowls are reasonably priced and fresh. They were a little resistant to me asking for a specific one that was in the locked fridge, but I wanted one with more papaya! They eventually let me have it.Their tequeños with guava and cheese are delicious, as are just cheese.I've gotten the ham and cheese empanada and chicken - the chicken I actually tried accidentally when they mistakenly gave it to me when I ordered ham and cheese but I was pleasantly surprised.Their bandeja with maduros, egg, frijoles and cheese was great and a really generous size althoguh it was on the expensive side.

I think I have the right location. I came here many years ago and had a local friend show me what Cubian espresso was. It was the experience but it's better than normal espresso because it's sweet and the way the serve it is in a small cup but with several tiny cups for sharing espresso shots. My friend tells the the name has changed but they served the espresso exactly how I remembered it. It's a great memory for me and I love the sweet espresso. This place probably has other great things but I cone for the espresso

We stumbled across Munchie's while just walking around. We really wanted good Latin food. The customer service was great and service was quick. The food to me was a little dry and they didn't offer much as far as sauces. They have packets of hot sauce. The flavors were almost there but still seemed to lack something. I order pork with some skin, the skin was inedible. Very tough. We sat outside on the patio and it was fine.

We did not rent a car this visit so we weren't able to drive to some of our regular Cuban coffee shops. The bartender at our hotel at Loews recommended this place. We came here three times during our 3 day stay. We had Café con Leche, colada, guava and cheese pastelitos, eggs perico with Cuban toast, veggie omelette, Cuban sandwich, Columbian empanadas, maduros and black beans. All of the breakfast items (cafe, eggs, pastelitos) were amazing!!! The maduros and beans were really good as well. My daughter liked the Cuban sliders. My husband thought the Cuban sandwich was average. The Columbian empanada was dry, but it was later in the day. They may be better if you get them fresh. The staff was very nice. They offered suggestions and answered questions. Everything was reasonably priced. If you want good food and not to spend an arm and a leg, give this place a
