Soul Y Mex Kitchen

Tried the food for the 1st time today. I tried the oxtail, Mac and cheese, candied yams, banana pudding and peach cobbler. My husband tried the spaghetti, greens and cabbage. Mannnn! It was like eating at your grandma's house! She did that! Her oxtail were tender and very flavorful. They tasted great. The yams were off the chain! The Mac and cheese didn't have a Cheddar cheese taste but whatever type of cheese she uses, it works. The Mac and cheese tasted great! I don't have words for how great the peach cobbler was. It was so flakey and perfectly sweet. The banana pudding was good to. Now for me personally I would have added some sweet peppers and onions and a little brown sugar to the spaghetti but my husband liked it. I would also recommend less pepper in the cabbage. It was very peppery for my taste. All in all the food was fabulous and I will definitely be back and try the fried chicken and of course get the oxtails macaroni and cheese and wonderful yams again along with the peach cobbler and banana pudding. This place needs to be on everyone list to try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I wasn't.

I've been here serval times and the flavor and customer service keeps me coming back every time! If you come here you mussst get a cake they are so good! The banana pudding is delicious but so is the food. My favorite is the oxtails and beef tips. Gotta have the cabbage and yams as a side and the koolaid is delicious too. Not much of an ambiance it's inside of a gas station but it's a great place to check out.

This place makes me dance every time I eat. They have such great spirits. And my staff loves their food. Their peach cobbler is top-tier. You will not need salt or any extras on their food.

I was on my way home and realized that it was Sunday , I was off from work , and I was driving home on grant road . That was the LORD telling me to stop by soul_y_mex_kitchen and get some of her good ole food that I been hearing about! I got to try the fried chicken with that baked Mac n cheese and those no so salty greens( Thank you for those greens ). I just like a hint of salt so it was perfect. I finished it with a red velvet cake ( RIP) he didn't make the cut but just know it was some real cream cheese icing on top. This place was recommended to me by a friend. Oh my goodness! Talking about on point. I've had the fish, the oxtails, greens, cabbage, yams, turkey, pound cake, fried chicken, cornbread and got a sample of the turkey necks and dressing....two words...simply delicious! The serving sizes are enough for you to eat twice and the prices are comparable but you get so much more. Mrs Tracy and her helpers are very personable. Can't wait for the Mex, got the Soul!! They haven't missed yet. I can't imagine all this goodness on a food truck. This location is halfway between me and my mom. It reminds me of mom and granny's cooking. Made with love and seasoned with life.

Passed by and saw the sign. Best decision I made was to turn around and try Soul Y Mex Kitchen. Food was amazing. Portion size was huge. Took some salt and pepper and returned it promptly, don't need it. Food tasted and was seasoned perfectly. Will be back. Already called several to tell about this hidden gem! Thank you Ms. Tracy for a wonderful experience.
