Soul Good

This was my first experience. The food was good and seasoned well. Soul Good Fine Food tastes like your down home southern cooking. Their French toast is amazing. Perfectly crusted yet soft in the middle. Bacon cooked to perfection, and the cheese eggs are perfectly scrambled soft. I can tell they've built a local loyal customer fan base with regulars and daily peak time rushes.The only problem I had was with the man with the lock behind the counter who was not very welcoming.

I have safety concerns & the food was NOT anything on the menu. As my 1st time, utilizing this service app...I was left disappointed & still desiring soul food as this was a waste of money, time driven across town and waste of my premium gas!1. Restaurant was like no other local neighborhood restaurant I had been too...it was extremely dirty2. Seats were extremely dirty & stained soiled as if they have NEVER cleaned the seats since they been in business. 3. Floor & tables were not cleaned 4. There was a few plastic dessert containers of cut cubed watermelon in a medium ice-chest on the floor; on top of the soda cans & 4oz water bottles. I felt the watermelon should have been stored in the fridge especially since the ice-chest was open.5. Food was NOT anything on the menu. (I received mini-sausages on top of rice; sample size of potato salad & corn. None of these items went together & the lady went to back to make my plate. Out of all the soul food offered...the only thing I received a scope of was the corn. I was shocked that the food actually looked good for such an unclean establishment & I left this business desiring soul-food. How do you make soul food yet, be apart of this program and NOT give patrons the opportunity to try the food that you see in the food trays & being sold in the front. 6. Lastly, I only noticed 2 employees which where OUTSIDE on corner-side of the building when I pulled up. A lady went inside and behind the counter...which I had spoke to as I entered and started to tell her I was there to pick up as she bend over to write an order. As I opened my phone app...I'm telling her I'm there for GoodToGo...she starts talking but, that's when I realize she was actually taking an order over the phone but, still had NOT acknowledged me. I did not take her a friendly nor professional due to this unwarranted unfriendly demeanor. I still wanted soul food afterwards!!!!! I ended up given this plate to a homeless woman, I seen who sleeps at a bus stop.

Unfortunately there aren't many positives on the plate I received. The greens were overly salted, the mac and cheese was lacking in flavor, the rice was what I would assume is instant rice and super oily, and lastly the meatloaf was okay. The oiliness of everything is a massive turnoff.

Very welcoming atmosphere and great customer service. I intended on trying the catfish dinner, but the turkey wings looked good so I went with that, green beans and yams with catfish on the side. I was underwhelmed by the food. The turkey wings needed more flavor, the rice was tasteless, the catfish tasted like rubber, and the yams were okay. The green beans was the best food on my plate.

No, you just cannot trust not seeing how your food is cooked nowadays. We have to know by a merchants trust and commitment to health that our interest is at best. The food here was like anywhere else. Wrapped tight in a bag before you see what you are getting. I purchased salmon and grits and to be honest I was not impressed. They tasted like the local person did on Evans Mill Rd in Lithonia - has our votes been vetoed to be subject to GMO ingredients on most menus that honor profit over true health? How did we lose this choice? The ones that keep you coming back for more are hard to find in our black owned establishments or they come with a cost! I'm just saying that while this restaurant is in a great location for the history of the area. The choices we pay for should be the reason why we keep coming back. I would not plan on coming back but encourage others to try and review.

Came in Saturday night around midnight.Ordered fried whiting, grits, scrambled eggs, home fries, a biscuit & lemonade. ($20)There was only one man working the front & one cook in the back. I probably only waited abt 20 mins which for only having two ppl working + online delivery orders coming in I felt was reasonable. The fish was perfectly seasoned, sliced thin & a lot of crunch. They also cut it into nice sized pieces. The eggs & grits were fine. Cooked so you can add your own level of salt and pepper. The potatoes are cooked with peppers & honestly stole the show. Super flavorful. You have a choice btwn toast and a biscuit- you HAVE to get the biscuit. Fluffy, dense and lots of butter- didn't even make it home. Just a classic down home spot, truly delivered exactly what I was craving. Good service, huge selection & reasonable pricing. excited to try some of their dinner menu.

The catfish is still GOOD.... But they're inconsistent. My previous review, I wrote that you get two filets. Today I received skinny strips... When I asked them about it they said sometimes it's two filets, other times it's three strips... just depending on how they prep the fish for the day because they cut it in half. What? Choose one and stick with it because that's not amount of fish. If that's the case that would be four strips. To make it worse, While waiting I heard the guy bagging it ask the cashier if she wanted the extra fish cause he just needed an order. Only to realize that wasn't really "extra fish." It was the missing half that should have been on my plate (making it two full filets, especially if they've made it). It's the principle.The Mac and cheese was also super dry today. Actually, it seemed to be mostly over cooked noodles and hardly any cheese. I had to come home and doctor it up... add my own cheese. Disappointed..... I knew I was going to be over that way, and had been looking forward to this plate all week! :(

Nice people and great food, especially their juicy fried chicken. We got here late in the morning on a Friday, and the place wasn't too packed. The ribs were smothered and tender, though, and the service was kind. Not a big fan of their rice here, but the wings, chicken, and ribs we had were fantastic. The interior is pretty small, but they've got several booths for folks who want to hang out. I see most people tend to get takeout though. I'll be back if I'm ever in the area. Prices are decent for big plates with a serving of meat, rice, and two sides.

I gotta try a few more spots in the city, but right now this one of my go to Soul Food spots! Good service, & smooth buffet line.. some foods are cooked to order!

Laid back place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a few outdoor seats as well as bench seating on the inside. I tried them off the too good to go app so didn't expect much. The customer service was pretty good, i was greeted promptly and the cashier advised itbwould be a 10 min wait. The meal i received consisted of 2 chicken thighs with tots. The tots were crispy and yummy. The chicken thighs, while kind of tasty were really greasy. Especially for them not to be fried.They have soul food on the weekends and based off customers in the store at the time I'd be willing to give the soul food a try.
