I would have given Soto's five stars...But I just can't. 2 months ago I could have. Lately there seems to have been a huge turnover of all of the staff. I see that they are having trouble getting the place cleaned & set and ready for incoming guests. Not enough bus staff is one of the biggest problems I see. to help like they had before. They'Ve been making a great deal of changes. Not sure what's going on with all the changes being made. I can truly say that they are not all positive from what I can see. Now the food is great. But.....Be ready for it to be so loud in there that you can't hold a conversation unless you are talking extremely loud. It's definitely not a place to socialize because they keep the music super loud.

Love this place! My top rating is usually 4 stars, but they deserve 5! Some friends found Soto and we now go at least once a month. I have never had a bad meal!I have had the Carne Asada, Steak Potosino, Combo #6, fajita salad, and more. All are great! I do t really have a favorite, it just depends on the mood. The staff is all very friendly and usually really quick and attentive replenishing your chips and salsa before you ask. The food always comes out hot and fast. Decent size restaurant but they do get busy and sometimes there is a 15-20 min wait. I started using Open Table to reserve a table if I am tight on time. The decor has that fun Mexican restaurant feel. Lots of cool decor! The parking lot fills up fast as well, so keep that in mind if you are running late.

So I haven't posted anything in a while. But this place made me go back to my critic mode. The place is a keeper. What i mean about that is this place just be on your list at least once a week for dinner , maybe family gathering, even a romantic date. I highly recommend this place. Once I go back n try another dish. I will definitely get back with more details.

We relished every bite and sip at Sotos, savoring the delightful flavors of our food and drinks. However, we were taken aback by the unexpected 3.8% fee charged for using our card to settle the bill. The margaritas were exceptional, and the rice and beans were undoubtedly the finest I've tasted in years. While my taco Al carbon was a touch rarer than preferred and the tortillas slightly undercooked, the indulgent cheese enchilada more than compensated for any shortcomings. Note to self: bring cash for our next visit.

So the highlight of dinner here was the fresh-squeezed, lemonade, which we both thought was absolutely stellar. We needed the sweetness of that to offset the spicy heat of the table salsa and the shrimp cocktail we ordered. We think the shrimp à la Plancha and the Molé enchiladas probably tasted pretty good, but we couldn't be sure because our taste buds were slightly blown out. Service was good and it's a cute little place. Another great thing was the green sauce the kitchen makes for the enchiladas, quite good and I'd recommend that.

Best TexMex in NW Houston, hands down. The chips and salsa are fresh and well balanced. Salsa has a slightly smoky essence, on the chunkier side, like pico, with a lot of cumin and finely chopped cilantro. The drinks are strong, but also balanced, crafted well with options like avocado and smoked pineapple. Service is attentive, but not intrusive, even on busy nights. The building feels like a converted house, like you're coming to someone's Latin Grandmother's place, that has had additions put on to accommodate the extra guests. There's a bar just to the left of the front door if you want sports and libations, otherwise, the host/ess will seat you; sit and enjoy a delicious meal of authentic flavours.
