Sol Cafe Mejicano

I love the Mexican breakfasts. Tacos, huevos rancheros with beans and potatoes. The girls are super friendly. I make it there every trip I make to my condo in Houston.

Solid 4-5 stars. Really good food and really good service. The ladies here are on point, chips and salsa at the ready. I had the chicken taco special with the charro beans and everything was so good. I'll definitely be back during my stay here in Houston

I might be somewhat of a Mexican Food snob. (I'm from Southern California) so I compare everything to that. This place was okay. Nothing special. I really wanted fish tacos and Horchata (both of which are posted and on their menu) but neither were available. Went with the crispy chicken tacos which were okay. The refried beans were very flavorful, fresh chips were good too! Not terrible but nothing like Fresh Authentic Mexican in California.

This place is right across from work so it is very convenient to go to for lunch. The people there are nice and the service is good. The food sometimes take awhile, but it all depends on what you order. When I ordered to go, they still gave me chips and both salsas without charge. Great customer service!I ordered the half order of Sol Nachos today and I was surprised at how good it was. It was a perfect amount for lunch. I've been here a few other times and the other dishes were good/decent too. The taco salad could actually feed two and the I love the taco bowl lol. Overall, the food and service is good. I would recommend this place if you work near by in downtown.

The salsa and chips are delicious. They are conveniently located, but if you have the time, I recommend going somewhere else for your breakfast needs. Breakfast tacos used to be better in the past, because they were cheap and fast. Now they are over priced and the quality of the food is not that great. The staff is nice and friendly, but I refuse to spend money there.

Don't know why this place doesn't have a high rating overall. They have THREE DOLLAR, BIG breakfast tacos that you can get with a fresh squeezed juice! Delicious salsas and tons of taco options that are made to order.

Sol is a great little Mexican diner across from the downtown police headquarters.You can't go wrong with ordering the daily special. Yesterday, I had the chicken poblano special, a chicken breast topped with amazing creamy poblano sauce. The special came with sides and a drink at a good price. The charro beans are VERY good. Lots of tasty bacon.Sol has some breakfast tacos I need to try.

Being in the downtown area and not far from Sol Cafe, bang for your buck, it's good go-to restaurant. Good breakfast tacos, and they usually have a Daily Lunch Special that can't be beat. Definitely worth checking out and trying. Will not disappoint.

Breakfast tacos are nails, solid 8/10. You'd be hard pressed to find more fresh and authentic tacos in the downtown area. I've never had a bad meal from Sol.

The Huevos rancheros plate is the best I've ever had. The ladies barely speak English but are super nice . Food 10/10 as well as customer service 10/10. Downtown parking is the only downfall.
