It's inside a hotel so not your typical restaurant. We came on a Wednesday night to celebrate a friends dinner and I'm gonna say the service was horrible. It took an hour to get an alcoholic beverage and I got a glass of wine. Then the server tells me that that wine is out of stock so if I can choose another option. It took an hour for them to tell me that. It seemed like they're was 2 servers working so I understand why it was so slow. I ordered the charcuterie board and that was good, but almost everyone else from the party did not enjoy their meal. The mushroom burger was very very salty and their greens as well. I'd say come here if it's a party of 2 but not a group of 10.

Sol 7 is starting off strong! This restaurant is in the Thompson Hotel on the 7th floor so make sure you look out for the hotel vs a standalone restaurant. This restaurant is adjacent to the pool & the cabanas, & the doors can open up so you can enjoy the elements outside which they knew when to close them as it got colder, but for sure in the summer time, this place will be a hit!The customer service was amazing...let's start there, as the staff was super attentive! The food was good as well. We got the pita with 3 dips, which the hummus was my fave & my girls fave was the sweeter one. She enjoyed her Caesar salad & my mushroom burger was good...however I thought it was going to be a veggie patty made of mushrooms but it was really just a lot of mushrooms; texturally a little off but still flavorful. We will be back & maybe for a nights stay as well!

Great views!!! The pool for the hotel is also on this level. The food was really good and seasoned. We got the calamari, the bolognese, and crispy fish. Everything was good. I can't wait to return

We had higher hopes for this place, but the food was just okay for us. The drinks however were on the pricier side but so delicious, we would definitely return for happy hour and the views! Very cute aesthetic located inside the Thompson Hotel with lots of seating and great skyline views. Service was okay, we felt it could have been a bit quicker considering it was not very busy. Complimentary valet for the first 3 hours which is nice, just get ticket validated with restaurant.

The Thompson hotel got this one right!!Sol is a stunning restaurant bar! The vibe is upscale and the views are totally worth the visit! (Also overlooks the pool)- the food did not disappoint, snapper ceviche (sweet potato chips) and Lobster roll stole the show. - bartenders whipped up custom cocktails and nailed it. We also did the espresso Martini. - Try the " Greenlight" cocktail! It maybe a Mezcal cocktail but you can barely taste the mezcal. Super refreshing too. I got mine with tajin, usually served with a salt rim. Highlight - Rigatoni ( brisket bolognese !!)

We came here after seeing some instagram ads highlighting the drinks, views, and food. I'll say the ambiance is quite nice and the views were great during sunset too. I got a mocktail which was nothing special but the food was really lackluster for us, especially for the price. The smashburger with fries was almost $30 and tasted like an average burger joint. The duck fat fries were extra crispy with a unique pickled ketchup, but again did not wow us. The lobster roll was probably the highlight of the evening but for $36 should have at least come with a side. Lastly, the rigatoni was very disappointing. The waiter recommended us to get it spicy which we did but it was just mouth numbing and had no flavor at all. I asked for salt but even that did not help. Service is pretty good though so I'd come back just for drinks and views but would probably skip out on food.

Great views, obviously. Our waitress was amazing, I wish I remembered her name. She was so sweet and gave great recommendations. We went for a Sunday lunch. Didn't find the food to be life-changing, but it was pretty good. I got the garlic duck fat fries and the bolognese rigatoni. The tequila drink I ordered was delicious. I think I'll come back for brunch and see how that menu is.

Good quality food, great decor, and spectacular views. Ate outside and there was a surprisingly nice breeze on the 7th floor. The frozen watermelon margarita is

First of all, love the digs. It's so nice inside. Smells awesome, the bookcase is a statement, the bar that opens onto the poolside patio is a whole vibe. It's on the 7th floor of the Thompson Hotel and valet is complimentary for under three hours with a sticker from the restaurant. (Don't waste time finding parking if you don't mind tipping.)Next good thing was the food. I enjoyed my bolognese. If my mom had been with me, she'd have said it was salty. But I liked it. Could have used way more rigatoni pasta but it was tasty. The two other people with me liked their food (Cobb salad and mushroom burger), although they weren't wowed by it either. The menu is interesting when you look at the whole thing. It's like they're trying to appease too many people. I'm not sure what it's going--there's caviar, duck fat, high prices and reasonable prices, steaks, burgers. Something for everyone I guess like many hotel restaurants. But also makes it hard to find something really good I guess. Service follows this theme. The service wasn't horrendous but it wasn't trying too hard either. No written down orders but no mistakes. We got our food and stared at it for like 5 minutes waiting for cutlery. No mocktails; just coke and other non-alcoholic drinks. Opportunity lost to wow me with a nice presentation and charge more for it. All in all, I see why people come and I'd come back.
