Slick Willie's Family Pool Halls

Who doesn't love Slick Willie's? Barbie's seen quite a few of these, and apparently gets them slicker than anyone. Well, no, she really does, I can tell you from experience. And there's nothing "family" about her "pool halls" if you know what I mean.This is your typical pool hall located right in the heart of Montrose on Westheimer. It's a good place for a pool hall because this area doesn't have any typical standard bars and hangouts like this, mostly just hipster craft beer stuffs, so it's something that Montrose needs and it's great that it has it.

Good times out at the Slick Willie Family Pool Hall in the Montose area. This was my very first time at this establishment and it was a very nice experience. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. The pool tables were all very nice and well kept. Pretty impressive. I do remember hearing good music from the juke box in the background too. Seems like good parking too. The drinks were good. I did not have a chance to go to the Lady's room but from the look and feel of the whole place, I'd say they were probably just as nice and clean. All in all it was a great time. Will definitely be back for more pool playing fun.

Met up with my party and worker came up to me and asked for ID even though none of us ordered alcohol, mind you it was 7 PM. Kinda weird. Another thing; if you pay money to use the jukebox you may notice that they lower the volume for hip-hop/rap/r&b music. While anything else that's not rap they'll blast the volume til you can't hear yourself talk. Not saying it's rac*sm, but just something to take note of, if you want to enjoy your music. Other than that, a few tables are out of service as per the blue tarp over them, but there was enough tables for everyone. Chill night I guess.

My boyfriend and I love this place! We come almost everyday. Great customer service and good music.

Played here - had to leave a credit card to get a table. When time to leave, they couldn't fine my card, then said they gave it to another client by mistake, but shea a regular and would be back within 10 minutes with my card. I told the server and the manager they had 15 minutes to get my card back of I would call the police. The bar tender/manager said "do what you have to do" . Client came back with card but had used it to bug beer down the street! She paid me cash for what was charged on the card and had the bar where she used my card cancel the charge. VERY SHADY PLACE! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Very pleasantly surprised. Pool halls are not known to be clean and have good service. This was very clean, the pool sticks were in good shape. The tables were clean and wiped down after each use. The bathrooms were also very clean. I also notice some young teens playing with their families. It's nice to see this is the direction slick willies is going. We will definitely be back soon.

Decent place to go hang out. It's not the fanciest but gets the job done. There is a bar and at least 15 pool tables. I went earlier in the day and didn't have a problem walking in and getting a table, but it did start getting busy when I left. Staff was friendly!

Got chargerd $20 an hour for our server to come take our order twice in 3 hours. I attempted to order without her and got refused service unless she took our order. Also no A/C.

If I could give a negative 5 stars I'd start there. We decided to have an impromptu visit to the pool hall on last night where I found it not appealing, however it was just that, impromptu and it's been a while since we visited.Pool table were not in the best condition, along with the bar table and torn fabric bar stools. I guess paying $15 an hour was what was to be expected.Next, we ordered drinks and I'm not a bartender, but I can certainly make a better drink than what we received. Lemon Drop Martini and Crown Apple with cranberry juice wasn't that hard to make, but when the crown doesn't look like crown in the glass and it's almost translucent because the ice fills up the 8oz glass, while the martini was more lemon juice and if a splash of vodka was even added I'd be surprised.The hostess was friendly, but she took our license and we forgot to get it back thus having to make a call before we made the 30+ minute drive there next day to retrieve it only to be told they were making a drink and was busy and couldn't look and would call us back. Really making a drink? She said she was the manager and tried to be funny, but I found nothing amusing about being inconvenienced. When and where do they take your license and keep it to play pool for an hour and have a horrible drink? They didn't even have the Astros game playing on all the televisions and only two ceiling fans were running in the entire establishment and yes it was stuffy in there. Felt good to get out of there to get some air.Don't waste your time or money. The vendor event across the street was more interesting and now I understand why people were parking in their lot to walk across the street.We won't be back that's for sure.
