From the outside this place looks like your typical Indian buffet, and when you go inside you'll find that it's... your typical Indian buffet. Some people may take offense to that, but when you consider the qualities of consistent quality, reliable service and a mixed crowd during the lunch rush, I would say it isn't so bad.Service here is always good, even a bit fancier than you would expect I would say. They have always been quick to clear old plates and refill drinks, and all you have to do is ask for more fresh naan and they'll have it out for you quick enough. Sometimes they can fall a step behind but if you aren't in a rush, you won't notice. As for food, it's the expected affair of north Indian cuisine with typical items like chickpea curry, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a fresh salad and the cucumber yogurt sauce (raita). When things are busy, the quality and time to refill do slide a little, but from my experience it's always been good eating. Whether you're new to this cuisine or you've been eating it all your life, it's worth the price of entry. It basically comes down to this, are you looking for a good halal Indian lunch buffet option? Then come on down. If you're looking for fine dining or the top tier of South Asian food, there's better option in Houston.

Visited for the buffet on Sunday and although it was a very small buffet, it had your typical Tandoori chicken, basmati rice, butter chicken. The food was flavorful and spicier than other Indian buffets which I enjoyed. However, most of the food was not kept very warm and the naan bread was also not my favorite. A decent place for lunch, I would return if I were nearby.

Really fantastic restaurant for Indian food! The food here was fresh & absolutely full of flavor, well staffed, clean, the service was great and the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was really pleasant! It is a really great place if you want to serve yourself at the buffet or order from the menu: https://sitarcuisineofindia.net/our-menu/ I came here with a recommendation from a friend and had the buffet so I could sample everything. All of the rice, meats and vegetables were spot on! I really enjoyed the amount of spices and it was not salty at all. After you're seated, the staff will bring you a fresh plate of fresh made naan. We aren't good for the buffet to get a variety of tastes and the total per person with food and a bottle of Coke came to about $21+ per person. Overall definitely two big thumbs up! I will definitely be returning here the next time I have a craving for Indian food!

Prices are up to $14.99 before tax, but still a good value for the buffet. As long as I get by butter chicken, saag paneer, samosas, onion pakora, and tandoori chicken I'm happy!Given inflation, there are no more lamb / goat dishes with whole chunks of meat (there are lamb meatballs on the buffet). Also the mango ice cream has been drastically watered down f compared to pre covid.Overall, Sitar is one of the last good value Indian buffets in the Houston metro!

Have been to this Indian buffet a few times and I can say both times have been a good experience. The food was flavorful and warm as well as fresh nan bread. The outside doesn't look like much but I promise you it's worth a stop.

I have been going here for almost 20 years. Friendly staff, clean, great service. The food is ok, it's better than you would expect from a buffet. You can order great meals also. We have never had an issue with the place, we always enjoy.

Came for the lunch buffet and nice to see a few different choices than most Indian buffets. The ground lamb was tasty, as was the spicy rice, and fried onions. I didn't see naan on the buffet and just as I was about to ask for some I was brought freshly made naan to my table. I love fresh made naan! The service was quick and friendly and ambiance was nice as well. Give this place a try. Oh, try the mango icee cream too.

Haven been to a lot of Indian buffets across the country, I held this place against high standards. Most of the items on the buffet were average. The service was decent and the staff was polite. The ambiance was to the point making one feel they were in an Indian restaurant too. My biggest grievance - the veg biryani served had no salt. Makes me realize, that there is no QC and the cooks are not tasting their food before being served. Soggy samosas are just a disappointment as well. This place can be a little better!

Ordered from Sitar this evening, even though our last experience wasn't great, we wanted to give them another chance. Tonight, our Tikka Masala was so spicy it was inedible to all (even our spiciest eater). We ordered lamb Korma & got chicken. This used to be our go to, fave Indian restaurant, don't know what has happened, but our last two experiences have just been bad. Sadly, we won't be ordering from them again.
