Shogun Japanese Grill And Sushi Bar

Feb 3, 2023 Drove a long way to Shogun at New Canyon (my first time) to visit my best friend and we planned to have dinner there too . Place: nice , I like the wood color floor and the beige brick combination, felt warm. Clean : table and menu are clean, NO nasty smell . I like the busser girl with the blue tee shirt; she working non stop Set : we set at the booth behind the reception , I thought will be loud but it wasn't. Although it was full house, we still felt comfortable. Servers: from the receptionist to waitresses, waiters and the manager were friendly, respectful and polite, they stopped by and check on us with cheerful smiley face even when they are very busy . Food : come fast. I order shrimp tempura is crispy . Steak (medium rare )Teppanyaki with fried rice - cooked just the way I like it!My husband ordered shrimp Teppanyaki with fried rice. Shrimps were delicious and big , fried rice good and not too oily ... The best thing is the meal still hot . (remember we sat at the Booth)Drink : very balanced and mixed well .Definitely recommend this sweet family place

Came here for lunch...it's 2, literally only one table with someone sitting down. Sat at the bar and ordered the dinner hibatchi steak because they weren't doing lunch because of the holiday period. Weird but ok. My food came out cold and my fried rice was just rice with soy sauce. Worst place I've been too for some hibatchi chicken and fried rice.

We had a great time. We didn't do the teppanyaki and just got a table for 5. The kids we worried about trying sushi but after we left they all said how good it was and how much they liked it. Service was great but I don't like how they automatically add gratuity to a family of 5. Food was awesome!!! Really liked the salad and soup that came out first. After talking 1 kid into trying the rolls they all wanted to try it. Can't wait to go back and try different rolls. Soooo many to chose from. Make sure you get some warm sake....it's a game changer.

Come here a few times a year. Hibachi is where it's at. Friendly staff most days but the hibachi chefs are the best. The tip you leave goes to the waitress not the chef so please bring cash for the chef and give to him directly. The waitress does very little at hibachi but is the one getting the tip which makes zero sense. So please take cash for the chef. If you don't go to the hibachi they also have a nice bar to sit at. The sushi is good and the egg rolls are delicious. Enjoy.

First time trying this place. I waited patiently for it to be built and was hopping for it to be my next Hibachi place. Came in the middle of the week, lunch time, not busy at all 4-5 tables had customers. Decoration is nice, big open windows and everything is new. Floor was slippery next to my table. Bathrooms were clean.Friendly waiter came over to take our order. Food took longer than expected considering they weren't too busy, but it wasn't too bad. Food: TOO SALTY. We ordered filet mignon and chicken teriyaki. I couldn't use the sauces it comes with, because they too were extremely salty. Veggies were grilled nicely, but again TOO SALTY. Soup was not good at all, I didn't eat it. I get it its part of the "lunch special " but it had one little mushroom and nothing else (no flavor, no consistency). It tasted like beef broth from a can. Fried rice was too dry and lacked flavor. The meat portions were small for lunch special, price was expensive 30 dollars for 2 lunch teriyaki orders and waters. $11.95 chicken, $15.95 for filet mignon. Server wa

We go here quite frequently. It is honestly nothing special. The food is okay and the service isn't great. Every now and then you get a really good and friendly chef which makes all the difference in your experience. Specifically last night was especially bad, our waiter avoided us for the last 30 minutes we were there. We were sitting at the grill area and after our food was served she did not ask if we needed anything till we got the check. We had multiple things missing, empty drinks, and needed sauces to go with our food that we didn't get before we finished eating. In addition, when we told her this she could not have cared less and was extremely rude.

We had a good time. The service was nice, but the food order seemed to be confusing for the hibachi chef. He didn't seem to know who got what. I ordered a bento box and the temperature was not up to par. It appeared as though it sat at the window for a while. They had two desserts and one of the two was a coffee ice cream cake that was not a good choice. The crust was good and out of ten of us, no one ate it (with the exception of me eating the crust). Other than those hiccups, the experience was nice and our server (Leah) was wonderful. We will go back to support the business!

One more year celebrating her birthday! As usual the food was great and the service was on point!

Decent sushi bar. Came with some family and had a good time overall! We had a group of 4 adults and 2 kids and we were seated immediately despite it being super busy.Our waiter was absolutely splendid-- he took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed and even gave suggestions! Definitely made our experience here a good one. We ordered some spicy edamame and dumplings for appetizers which were both super delicious. We had various sushi rolls and plates of chicken fried rice to share. The sushi rolls and fried rice varied in flavor, some better than others but overall pretty okay.Pretty good place!

We just ate there and very glad we gave it a second try. Our service was excellent. Luis was our hibachi chef and everything he made was delicious. My only small complaint was the salad dressing was watery. We will definitely be back. We had chicken, sirloin, shrimp and noodles. All perfect.
