I have struggled to find a good Japanese/sushi spot in the southwest Miami region for a while. If I find something that's good, it's like the quality only lasts so long.Shibui is where it's at! Their fish quality is exceptional. Their service is great - kind, attentive and fast.The ambiance feels awesome. It's nicely decorated and for those who want that traditional Japanese dining feel, floor seating is fun.I had the salmon cucumber roll (rice-less and wrapped in seaweed and cucumber), jalapeño yellowtail with ponzu sauce and vegetable tempura. All fab!This will be my go to spot!

Very disappointed.The food was subpar. The soup was all very bland, the was so little protein in the sushi combination dinner I ordered, it was ALL rice with slivers of shrimp in some pieces, slivers of tuna in others, and cucumbers in the others. The sushi combination dinner was also bland, and completely underwhelming- and priced above $21.00.I also ordered kids meals, my kids enjoyed the chicken however, the meal was also subpar - came with bland white rice, and a bland soup that my children wouldn't eat for about $13.00.Overall, I felt like the food was way overpriced for what was delivered. Would NOT come back.

After moving to west kendall, my husband and I were looking for a date night spot and came across this gem. After 3 visits, this is now our go to for sushi, teriyaki, and katsu! This place offers a nice ambiance, the floor seating option is a bonus, and such a unique experience. Service has been on point everytime. They have a very vast menu and a nice wine list. Self parking is available and they have a good sized parking lot, we've always found a spot with ease.

Absolutely LOVEDDD this place! I've been meaning to check this place out & was finally able to. In this economy, the prices for their GREAT quality sushi was AMAZING! I went on a Friday night and I highly recommend having a reservation because they were packed. We sat at the sushi bar & it was a lovely experience. Definitely will be back.

Last minute reservations for a sushi dinner couldn't have gone better. We originally planned to go to Belly Fish, but it seems this was more of a takeout spot so we drive down to Shibui. I called first because it's always busy here, and they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation. I'm glad I called because it was packed when we got there. If you've never been, I highly recommend you stop by. They have regular tables downstairs, and upstairs you sit on the floor. Make reservations and dress accordingly if you're going to sit upstairs. They have a pretty large sushi selection. We started off with a small order of tuna tataki and small it was so if it's more than two people I'd recommend going for the large order. My bf had the Margy roll (primarily eel) and the Spicy Crunchy Dragon roll, both of which he enjoyed. I'm a huge fan of salmon and couldn't decide between the Bagel Roll and the Pinky Roll so I ordered both thinking I'd end up leaving some... but I was wrong. They were both so good, I couldn't help but finish them both. I always forget just how good Shibui is but I'm already looking forward to going back. All in all, I highly recommend checking this place out asap! Enjoy!

Came here for my mom's birthday dinner and it was one of the best sushi spots I've had in a while down in south Miami. The miso soup and green hot tea was amazing. The avocado crab salad and salmon tataki appetizers were so good along with the rice less rolls. The phoenix roll was my personal favorite. The fried tempura cheesecake was so good for dessert. Overall great place! I recommend getting a few rolls to share if your with a big group so you can try a variety of things because everything is soo good! The staff was so friendly and very quick and attentive.

I have been coming to Shibui for years, and it's always great! It has a unique ambiance split between the bottom level that has tables with chairs - usually a louder more social space - and the upper level with floor seating - usually a quieter more cozy space. They recently redecorated some of the restaurant, and it looks great! The prices for the food are good value. I appreciate the vegetarian options and that they have sometimes made me a simple veggie roll in addition to their vegetarian roll on the menu. They have the best miso glazed eggplant that I have had anywhere, and I have tried to reproduce is in my own kitchen! The veggie tempura is also very tasty, and I sometimes get the half portion, the full portion, or the sweet potato. I like the small ginger salads, as well. Service is always courteous and accommodating. We have never had to wait long for our food. I recommend calling ahead, especially on popular weekend nights, because sometimes there is a wait. I look forward to coming back many more times!

Sushi was amazing, the staff were welcoming and our server gave a 10/10 service. We sat at the sushi bar upstairs and saw the chefs in action.

Visited for lunch on a Wednesday. Apparently, after a 10 year hiatus Shibui decided to reopen for lunch. They actuall started on Monday, Dec 11, as a tryout. As such the menu was very limited; 4 sushi rolls, a few ramen, and not much else. The crunchy dragon was very good and big. The caliente roll was just as yummy but much smaller (6). I was a little dissapointed at the limited menu and really can't understand the logic behind it. If you want to test out lunch menu, surely you should offer more options to entice customers to return. Anyhoo, the service was ok (especially since we were 1 of two), and the food was great, perhaps if they offer more options I'll return for lunch.
