I have to admit, I don't have a clue what a shawarma is, but I will say I liked this one. Or whatever it was that I ate.I picked my friends up at their hotel downtown and we headed out to lunch. The original place we picked was not open because apparently they had some kind of a pissing contest with the city and they lost. Whatever. We were hungry and needed to find someplace fast. And nearby would be a bonus because I had already paid for two hours of parking. No one likes paying for parking and then driving off. That's unAmerican. So we found another place down the street and were on our way when we saw Shawarm Al Basha. The sign said it was Lebanese, and that sounded just as good as what we had originally picked (Mexican), so we went in.First, the place is immaculately clean. The three women behind the counter were all very nice. When we asked about the food, one of them went to the meat and sliced us off samples to try. That was enough for us. We ordered.Vickie had the chicken kabob and Peter and I both had lamb. Mary had a little lamb. It was really delicious. The kabob is kind of pita-like bread wrapped around the meat with tomatoes, onions, falafel, something from a camel (just kidding, making sure you're still paying attention) and other things. They show you the whole list and you can opt out of anything you don't like. I didn't opt out of anything. Pile it on, is my motto. It was a lot to eat at one time, but I persevered. I mean, I had two hours, how could I not. When we finished, we realized we needed baklava (I'm not entirely sure how to spell it). We had the choice of walnut or pistachio, and we chose the pistachio. Which means now I need to go back and try the walnut. How else will I know which is better?I don't get to Miami very often, but I will definitely go back to this place. The food was good, the service was excellent, the restroom was clean (it's a long drive and I had to go) and we had a great time. All-in-all, worth every one of their five stars.

This place is DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Middle Eastern food. Their Chicken Kebabs, Chicken Shawarma, Baba Ghanouj, Hummus, Rice dishes (including one of the best Mujaddara i've ever had) are fantastic & their Baklava is to die for. Bonus... They deliver to Brickell & surrounding areas. Love this hidden gem.

Food is good but too bad I will not come here again. That mold in the toilet wall is dangerous. It probably flies in the air and sticks on the food, too. Super dangerous for people spending time inside and inhaling that air, owner, his wife, their daughter?

Wanted to try this place after seeing it on one of the food channels, but I was not overly impressed. The food was fair, the hummus had too much Tahini and the Shawarma beef and chicken were too salty and dry for my taste. Portions were smaller than expected @ $21.95 for a beef & chicken Shawarma platter. Although It looked like huge portions, the meat was laid on top of a big bed of french fries so it was an illusion. I went to wash my hands and noticed a large patch of black mold in the bathroom, which was a bit of a turn off. You can't paint over this it has to be remediated. I would come again but felt it was pricey for a fast food place. The Latina girl who served me could have been more pleasant and welcoming. Wipe businesses put people at the counter, the speak, no English I will never understand. And Lastly, BEWARE of the AUTOMATIC 4% service charge on your TAKE-OUT order, in addition to being prompted on the credit card machine for a tip. More ways to get your money. Bottom line, if I'm going to spend $25 for a mediocre plate I'd rather go to a sit down restaurant that has table service.
