Food. The oysters were great. Really fresh, I would recommend. The branzino was mid. Fried, nothing special. The Alaskan halibut was slightly better, and came with an eggplant(?) paste that was pretty good. Overall the food was absolutely NOT worth the price we paid. Service was excellent. Ambiance was quiet, the kind with muffled conversation and silverware clinks. Drinks were fine. Got two cocktails--mine was a martini and it's what you would expect.Paid $200 for two people after tax and tip, and we left feeling hungry. Then I went and ate an entire burrito bowl at chipotle.Overall value to me was really bad. But if you're looking for nice ambience, great service, and you're ready to shell out $100+ per person, you might find this okay.

Zero complaints. Their food was all top notch quality bursting with flavor. We ordered the octopus, the 1/2 dozen oysters, crab fritters and the shaved Brussels sprouts with edamame. My husband went crazy over the Brussels, do not skip!Their cocktails were too good and very strong. You can tell they use quality ingredients.Robyn was our server and made us feel very welcomed right away. The hostess was also very nice. Robyn was very informative about the dishes and drinks and helped us decide what to order based on our own tastes. She was attentive but not overly attentive. The vibe and decor was also really fun. We'd absolutely come back to try more dishes and drinks!

Stopped in for an early dinner since we were on east coast time and just landed in the city.We grabbed some seats at the bar and the bartender took great care of us. The cocktail list had quite a few options and I loved the old fashioned style drink I picked. We started with the crab fritters and they were great. Lightly fried and full of flavor. Sharing 3 pieces is awkward though so I always think they should give you 4 to share. For dinner, I had the seafood boil and really enjoyed it. The food runner dump the pan of food out onto my plate in front of me which was cool. I had no complaints about any of it. The portion size was perfect as well.Overall, this was a cool spot and the atmosphere was great. I love open kitchen concepts where you can hear them call out your order and prepare it. We will definitely come back.

A very nice, spacious restaurant. Make sure you make reservations especially if you have a larger group! Our server was exceptional and was very good on selling us all of the items on the menu. He even coerced us into taking shots so it was a good time!Even though this is supposed to be a seafood focused restaurant all of their vegetarian dishes were exceptional! The seasoning on the cauliflower was perfect and could have definitely passed for a steak. Truffle fries were spot on, everything that you could ask for. The mushroom pate was interesting, it was a lot chunkier than I thought it would be but wasn't bad. It could have used just a tad bit more seasoning imo but I would still order it again. The salmon was perfection, I could have eaten two of them. The octopus was also perfection! So tender and juicy, and the puree paired so well with it. I wish there was a little more of the ink sauce but that's my only complaint. The salmon carpaccio was light and refreshing. I was confused about it being served on a plate with a bed of salt - no one said if we were supposed to eat it with the fish or not so we didn't. 10/10 would come back here and try more of their menu!!

Found this place on Opentable and was not disappointed! They had some HEAVY breakfast options which was amazing! ***What I ordered ~**The All-Palladian (8/10) ~ You really can't go wrong with a hefty breakfast like this! I personally loved everything on here! The potatoes were crispy and cooked to perfection! As for the French toast it was nice and fluffy and the eggs were meh. Just a tad bit dry.. Overall, Service was great and food was good! This would be the perfect place for a hangover meal :)

Walk-in for 2 on a Monday at the bar, no wait Our Bartender (and server) Rick was wonderful! He's super pleasant and fun to watch as he tended the bar. Went with their non alcohol drink, Walk On By, with Spiced pear shrub, cranberry, lemon, soda. I particularly enjoyed this non alcoholic drink as it was very well thought out and tasty compared to other places with mediocre non-alcoholic drinks. Charred octopus was yummy and great texture and balance! What was most surprising was these little sweet drop peppers. My friend ordered the seafood boil. I thought it lacked flavor (you could lose a lot of flavor through boiling, so I'm not surprised) Im also not a big fan of also smothering seafood In loads of butter, so for me, I'd pass on this dish. I ordered the King Cole duck breast. The duck was cooked quite nicely. However, I was not a big fan of the gochujuang eggplant purée; to me too intense and didn't feel it goes well with the duck. The lotus chip, super simple and provided the crunchy texture! Seasoned nicely and fried perfectly golden brown (big fan of that single lotus chip) lol Chèvre cheesecake was so yummy! That hazel graham cracker crust was so lovely! I really enjoyed the combo of the strong flavors of the chèvre with that hazelnut! (Staff, share recipe please )I'd come back to try halibut and branzino!

It was my partner and I's first visit at Shaker + Spear. It's a small cozy restaurant with an open kitchen where you can see the chef cook. Not only did we see chefs cooking but there were 4 people (staff I'm assuming) standing just watching people eat from the kitchen lol I thought that was weird. Anywho, our server was very nice and recommended the oysters. We got oysters, they were very good. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer. It came with an artichoke dip, that was good. For the main dish my partner ordered duck, it lacked flavor. I ordered the seafood pozole that had clams, all I tasted were beans in clam water that was lacking flavor. The soup was also lukewarm. It didn't warm my soul lol. I think I'd only come back for the appetizers and oysters! The server shared with us that the oysters are different each day. I think that's cool.

Went to Shaker + Spear to celebrate my birthday. Ben was our server and he was awesome!! He was friendly, funny, made great recommendations, and remained attentive throughout our time dining. The restaurant has a great ambiance with low lighting and an open kitchen. To start, we ordered a 1/2 dozen of Oysters and the Octopus. The Oysters were good. The Octopus was delicious. It had a slight char on it and I only wish there was more on the plate. For meals, I ordered the Scallops, another person the Mussels, and another, the Duck. The Scallops were smooth and buttery, and melted in my mouth. The other people enjoyed their meals. For desert, I had the Prickly Pear Sorbet. The other diners had Gelato.Overall, the food was good, the ambiance was nice, but I thought some of the food portions were small.I would go again.

When seafood meets soul food, it's a magical thing! If you're craving comfort food with an ocean twist, then look no further than Shaker + Spear. Last night I had the pleasure of dining here and their food did not disappoint. Soul food classics get a delicious upgrade with fresh local seafood and ingredients. I devoured my seafood boil with a side of greens and can't wait to go back to try some new dishes (they update their menu according to what's fresh in season). I absolutely love the ambiance too. It's a true wine bar vibe. Shoutout to Robin, our waitress that had amazing energy.
