Food: 8.5/10Service: 10/10Ambiance: 9.5/10I thought I was stepping into a bougie wedding boutique as I opened the wooden double doors. When you first set foot into the restaurant you are greeted with such grand welcome. Our server Kevin was so attentive and made our experience at this restaurant even better. Since it was our first time, we were given a bowl of samples of broth to try and I really was contemplating between the shiitake mushroom and tonkatsu and I ended up choosing the tonkatsu. The buffet bar has a great selection of vegetables, sides, noodles, and other toppings. I was a bit disappointed with their sauce. The sesame sauce was not what I expected and wished their Thai chili peppers were grinder and not chopped. The meat quality was great however very inefficient in how it was served. Each plate of meat only came in 4s so when we ordered double of every meat, instead of the same meat on one plate, each order was on a plate so we had about 20 plates of meat stacked and could not see our friends across from us. They need to have a better system of serving their meat. I would definitely come back and try their mushroom soup base next time.

This AYCE Japanese hot pot style was a great spot for individual hot pot. Love the premium meat and their quality. The wait on a Sunday night was long so we opted to sit at the bar. It was a little awkward if you have four people but we made it work. Service was attentive despite how busy they were. You can order the meat with your server and can get your veggies, noodles, sauce, and seafood in the buffet bar. We opted for the sukiyaki broth as the base and it was pretty flavorful. They have additional items you can order. I decided to order the raw lobster to cook in the broth. Decent size for the price but I could have skipped it. For desserts, they have shaved ice with assorted toppings. I quite like it since most places have ice cream so this was something different. Overall, worth it to check out and the price was good too.

Houston's newest AYCE Shabu (Japanese style hot pot) and its very nice and the lunch price is the best so far, yes they do not have the full menu for lunch. The restaurant is big and beautiful. The service is also very fast. Everyone get they own pot of broth and you order the meat and they have bring it to your table. I was here for the lunch menu, there's less selection of meat compared to the dinner menu. Vegetables and seafood selection is self serve at the buffet line. They have a dessert area also. It's a nice restaurant for special occasion. The food seems pretty fresh.

Shabu En from the moment you walk in gives off very high quality vibes. There's literally art pieces on almost every wall throughout the restaurant, and the restaurant utilizes that very modern, clean, white aesthetic.Kevin was our server, and since it was our first time, he explained the menu very well. Shabu En uses individual hot pot burners so it's nice making your own to your liking and not having to share or compromise with someone else. Out of their 7 different broth choices, I liked the flavor of the spicy tonkatsu, and the simplicity of the sukiyaki. But they do let you change your broth flavor if you don't like your first choice so that's a big plus. What really sets Shabu En apart from all of the other AYCE hot pot places in Houston, is the quality of the food. Their meat, seafood, vegetables, and noodles were all noticeably higher quality. The noodles literally looked hand pulled. You have the option to splurge a little as well on extras like yuzu raw oysters, wok tossed garlic butter lobster, certified Japanese A5 Wagyu, uni trays, and much more.No matter how full we got, there was still room to try their made to order bingsu or shaved ice. They have a variety of toppings to choose from like mochi, popping boba, fruit, condensed milk, Oreos, chocolate sauce, etc. It was honestly so satisfying we went back for THIRDS lol. Shabu En is sure to be in our regular rotation whenever we're craving high quality hot pot, enjoy!

This may be my family's new favorite shabu spot in Houston! We made a reservation ahead of time to celebrate birthdays, and we're glad that we chose Shabu En! The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, very clean, and looks very high-end. Our waiter, Kevin, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Other staff tended to us as well and were also very friendly. We loved how it was AYCE, as our table tried mostly all the meat options. The wagyu included on the dinner menu had exceptional marbling. The seafood, veggie, and sauce options were very good and beautifully presented on the buffet. Our family did order lobster and oysters on the side. While both options were fantastic, we probably wouldn't order it next time due to already having so many tasty options on the dinner menu as it is. We also loved their included bingsu for dessert, however it would've been nice to see more toppings next time. Next time we ought to try out their cocktails! The Thai Tea cocktail sounded amazing. We'll be back for sure!

Impressive is an understatement. Whether you frequent hot pot or it's your first time, you'll find comfort in this upscale, all you can eat shabu-shabu buffet. Our server did a great job of educating our party on the numerous options, and honestly visiting 10 times, I might not be enough to try everything! We chose the savory signature broth (highly recommend for your beef), and sampled a bit of everything. The wagyu beef brisket, hit the spot. My coworker gave the beef tendon two gelatinous thumbs up. The beef sirloin coulotte was tender and all of the cuts were sliced thin and appropriately marbled with fat. The wok tossed lobster is a must, but by far, my favorite part of the experience was the buffet portion. I was incredibly impressed by the cleanliness, and the offerings truly allow you to create your own culinary adventure (and bing su is a nice touch)! From uni to quality beef cuts to live lobster, you're in for an experience.

Pretty good experience overall So far the best hot pot, shabu shabu in Houston Meat are thinly sliced, variety of soup bases to choose from. Vegetables, seafood, sauce sections are always checked: some is actually in the middle station to do so.A plus is shaved ice with toppings for dessertThere is an alacarte section with Wagyu, Lobster, Abalone, and Uni. Wagyu looks legit since a certificate is displayed.Great service and ambiance to add more to the dining experience

I was here on Sunday night with my boyfriend, and here are some of my reviews about this place. Food: The broth could have been better. The sauce station is limited. They don't have many options for the sauce and don't have the recommended recipe for us to make the sauce. The lobster ball is too chalky. Meat is quite thick, and it is a bit tough after cooking due to the thickness.Service: the Asian was very attentive, guiding us to the table and answering our questions about the food and how this place works. The waiting time is super long. I understand they are busy since it is the weekend and they just opened for 3 weeks. The lady at the front stopped taking walk-ins at 6:45 and said it was too busy, which is unacceptable, and the attitude is rude. Also, a young manager is constantly moving around, checking on the buffet area, and updating the table status to the hostess to have a table for us. Atmosphere: overall, it is a great upper-scale restaurant with a decent price. It is highly recommended for families and big parties due to the big table and accepting reservations on the weekend or holidays. The restaurant offers a cozy dining environment. Recommendation: Management needs to train the hostess on attitude and how they can stop taking walk-ins at peak hours. Even if it is 2 hours, we are more than willing to wait. They can either decide to wait or not; it is not up to them to decide whether to put us on the waitlist or not.

My friends and I came in a few days ago during peak time. The wait for our party of 4 was about 40 minutes, can't complain for a Friday night. Our server greeted us but had lots of plates in his arms so we told him to take his time and to come back to us. Not even 2 minutes later a manager came around and asked if we had been greeted, told her we were but our order hadn't been taken yet. She didn't hesitate to explain the menu, give amazing drink options, and took our order. She then directed us to the buffet and assured us that Jian our server would take great care of us and have our orders right out. She was not wrong! He was on a roll with having our meats come out fast and clearing up enough room for us to order more. Awesome attentiveness, service, and all around friendly! Such a beautiful and clean restaurant too. When we got to dessert, the manager came back and asked how our dinner went and if we were taken care of. Only complaint I have now is that she introduced herself early on but didn't have a name tag like the other employees (my memory is awful) so I can't give her the kudos she deserves, but she was the tall and tan manager with very pretty eyes hard to miss! We can't wait to come back with more friends and to tell everyone about a new better option for ayce hotpot in houston!
