HOUSTON, TX 77077 / JAPANESE GROCERY / MULTIPLE VISITS+Various bento boxes or to-go plates.-No loyalty rewards program like H Mart (i.e., spend $1,000 get $10 coupon certificates).-The sashimi or sushi isn't fresh all the time. There has been many times where the fish was already undergoing the trimethylamine process.

I absolutely adore this little market, and I'll drive half an hour just to get here. The fact that it's small doesn't bother me at all - they pack so much amazingness into that space. They often have fresh produce and seafood from Japan, which fly off the shelves. The prices are a bit higher than some other Asian markets, but I don't mind because I only come here for the unique items I can't find anywhere else. The cooked food section is my absolute favorite - I could spend hours browsing and sampling.

Good selection of products in a very compact store. Prices are not bad. Went in around lunchtime on a saturday, they seemed to be out for many sushi items. but the one I tried was good. The binto box was very good, except for the rice. There was a long line at checkout, but it moved very fast. If you are looking for Japanese specialty items I would give Seiwa a try.

First class Japanese grocery store with quality selections, including fresh fish and meat. I noticed several types of salmon at affordable prices.

Love coming here. Kids love the Yakisoba noodles and it's something to keep in stock for a quick dinner. I have a sweet tooth so I usually love the wafer ice cream sandwiches. I did find some Japanese fluffy cheesecake here which definitely satisfied my curiosity about it...and probably at a cheaper price. They got meals that a freshly prepared along with some bakery stuff. Place looks small, but don't let it fool you. There's plenty of things to check out here.

Let me tell you about how much I love this little market. I love this little market so much I have to drive 35 mins and pay a toll to get here. If I didn't it would take me 45 mins. It may be small but it offers most of the essentials. Sometimes they bring in fresh produce and seafood from Japan so those go quickly. Price wise it's slightly higher than some of the other Asian markets so I come here for only the items I can't find anywhere else. My favorite is the cooked foods section.

Holy smokes! This Japanese market really is awesome. We do not live close but we definitely plan on visiting whenever we can. The selection of goods, the quality of produce, meat and seafood? Great. My boyfriend lived in Japan for some time and was like a kid in a candy store seeing all his favorite beers, snacks and drinks. The employees are very helpful and nice and the store was very organized, clean and easy to navigate. The sushi and poke alone gives us a reason to come back.

I've never had a bad experience shopping at Seiwa besides me going too late and their offerings or sold out :( This is my go to for raw fish for sushi nights. Fresh. Delicious. No smell. And a damn good price 20-30$ for a SLAB of chutoro and 5-15$ for a slab of salmon And always fresh! Not to mention their onigiris and premade meals all delicious! I'm sad they closed their deli since Covid they had a great matcha latte I always go out of my way to come where when I need a Japanese fix and sushi fish needed

If you're looking for authentic Japanese items, I recommend this place. It's a nice sized grocery store that also has fresh sushi. The store is pretty clean and organized. There's never a long wait in line, they've got multiple cashiers checking people out. I would definitely go back more often if I didn't live far from it.
