Awesome light exhibit in a small art gallery featuring the artist Maja Petric! The exhibit was free to enter and showcased a large central piece that you could walk around with lights shining into small pieces of strings. There were Kinect devices that projected images of people onto the strings as they moved/danced. This was a very unique and fun exhibit! I wish there were some type of ground lights though. I bumped into other visitors multiple times since the whole place was so dark.

Fantastic venue in South Lake Union. What sets this studio apart from others is they give the entire space to an artist to have as their canvas. Walking down Westlake Ave there are large windows you can look inside and see the art project progress over time. The artist is available to meet in person at times and learn about their piece. MadArt also opens up the space to host events and socials for community organizations and clearly shows their dedication to the arts and the community they are located. Stop by sometime and see a masterpiece develop over time.

Although the storefront can be slightly deceptive at times, it adds to the mysterious art makings that happen in this venue. MadArt is a unique space that invites artists to create large scale artwork over a long period of time.... did you hear that creative people? A PLACE and TIME for artists !!! What a great resource!!!! The work has been stellar in the short time MadArt has been at this location and its a nice to have an art space tucked between the million restaurants and bars in SLU. Good work MadArt and can't wait to see more cool ART!

MadArt is an amazing venue. We hosted a company party here. Katie and Tim were amazing hosts, the venue was spectacular and the guests loved the art. MadArt was easy to work with, very flexible in set-up/take-down and was able to host a great company event.

This wonderful spot is more of a studio than a gallery. A great place to see art installations being made! Loved their previous show from John Grade of the Middle Fork exhibit - a life size tree cast & reconstructed inside & the current exhibit by Julie Alpert is lovely!

An awesome space for the artist to showcase their work and for the community to learn more about it! This place is free to enter and you have a chance to see the artist build the exhibit during the open studio hours. For me, it was great to finally visit after seeing the construction of it during the month of February. The exhibit that I saw was the Circumambience by Taiji Miyasaka which explores the light and space of the studio. He had three spheres, each with a different concept. My favorite one is the largest sphere called the "Earthen Light", where you can go inside. Once you are inside, you can sit on the cushions and reflect on everything. Although this is the last day for Circumambience, I can't wait to check out future events here!

You got to be mad to eat MadArt cheesebread and beanbread: they are based on artery-clogging transfat-ridden margarine. As regards hydrogenation raises the level of trans fatty acids in the oil, so consumption of basic margarine increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. What a shame, stay away!
