I'm going 4* instead of 5* for a couple reasons. It's not because the food wasn't terrific, because it was. I had a great evening and it was a very good meal, but the more a restaurant charges, the more nitpicky I'm going to get.Arugula salad - awesome. Zero complaints. Terrific salad. I absolutely love candied walnuts on a salad, tho. So they had me from the first bite. Wouldn't change a thing.Tagliatelle bolognese - terrific. Absolutely amazing dish. Very tasty. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The meat combination was extraordinary. Also, just the right amount of spice. I loved it. My one complaint, and it's kind of a big complaint - this dish is small! I don't know if it's worth the price because you get such a small amount of food. And when it came out, I looked at everyone else's plate, and they all had the same complaint. The entrees are small. Can't lie - that's disappointing considering how much we spent.Sticky toffee pudding - you know, it was really tasty, but the fact that it was deconstructed was pretty disappointing. The point of a sticky toffee pudding is to be (a) sticky, (b) have toffee, (c) be a pudding. It was none of these. It was a dry piece of cake sitting off to the side with a scoop of ice cream over top of some slightly toffee'd nuts. It tasted very good when you got a bite of all the components, but it was actually kind of hard work to eat it. Sometimes more expensive restaurants focus on presentation more than the actual dish, and I feel like that's what happened here.Wines - all great. I went in this order...Sauvignon Blanc, Francois De La RocheBarbera d'Asti, Guido BertaA dessert wine I don't remember the name ofTerrific meal overall, just a little pricey considering the whole scope. The service and the staff were awesome and friendly and accommodating. Top notch service.

Went here on restaurant week and really enjoyed it! The Bolognese was delicious and everything was very fresh. It overlooks Rittenhouse Square so it's a fun view. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and about the dishes itself. will be back, especially a good place to take parents!

Went in for a drink and food to go. I got the LOBSTER TAGLIOLINI NERO and it was great! I also had the Prosecco from the bar and it was amazing. The pasta along with the lobster was cooked perfectly and the flavor was very good. I think the hostess was a little confused. I went in and told her I would like to order food to go and I'll wait at the bar and have a drink. She told me to just go to the bar and they can assist me. I went to the bar and was told I had to order with the hostess. So I explained what I was told to the bar staff and they just took my order from there.I'll definitely be back to try more dishes!

I chose Scarpetta for my birthday dinner with a few friends. Everything was great especially my server Kayla in which I wanted to leave this review on. She was extremely acknowledgeable with the menu when my party and I had questions and even made suggestions on a few favorites. She also had asked if anyone had food allergies which you don't get often. We started with the octopus and Brussel sprouts- both were very tasty and cooked well. I had ordered the basil gnocchi with crabmeat which tasted good but does have a pronounced lemon flavor to it. I told our server it was my birthday and as a treat, she brought over complementary limoncello shots for me and my guests. The cocktails we all had were made great that my friend said "please have the same bartender make our drinks" Finally we ended with dessert which I ordered the espresso budino and I'd have to say it definitely was one of the best desserts I've ordered! The ice cream was like cutting into butter it was soft and the texture along with the crunchy bits of hazelnut pieces paired together. The ambiance was more intimate with a dimmer setting but overall very pretty with the place setting and wine bottle art. The only thing was when we entered upstairs the temperature was a bit more on the warmer side- almost too warm that we noticed right away. It was a chilly night out but you would want it to be more on the comfortable side versus too warm especially when your consuming a few drinks. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if you want the top notch service that I experienced then ask for Kayla!

If you're looking for a fancy and expensive place in the city this is your spot. It's definitely small plates but they make up for it with the unlimited homemade bread baskets.

I was seated quickly thankfully, and the staff was very attentive. From the amazing spread that they offer for their bread to the homemade Bolognese, it all tasted amazing! I even got the dessert as well, the trio of gelatos and each one was very rich in flavor. I also ordered the Witches Brew drink, and it was strong Overall, I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place. Favorite place in all of Philly to be honest.

Food was mediocre and over priced. The sitting was uncomfortable and the ambiance was mute at best. The service was efficient in that we were served food in a timely manner. I had the gnocchi with crab and they tested fishy in the wrong way. And no much crab despite the ridiculous pricing. Not recommended .

I'd say the wait staff was top notch. The menu changes and they no longer have. The Cachio e Pepe that I had been dreaming of but the spaghetti bologanse was pretty damn good.

A few friends and I went here before the Broad Street Run to carb up! All of our meals were just okay, nothing to brag about and seemingly overpriced while being small portions . I had the basil gnocchi with crab, and the preserved lemon flavor was so overwhelming, to the point I had to pick around any lemon to try and taste another flavor. The atmosphere was upscale, but was really empty for going on a Saturday night. The best part of our meal was hands down the cheesecake! Such a tangy flavor with the lemon glaze while still light and creamy. If you end up here, I would recommend getting it! But overall, would not recommend to go.
