In this cute strip mall West of Arvada you will find this really cute Thai restaurant @sanunthai. The drive is not bad. Its scenic! We went after an eight miler of a hike. Famished and thankful theyre around. They're six months old. We tried a few things and they're all so tasty! Their Panang Curry with Pork is amazing! I ordered it medium level of heat which is perfect. Their Sweet and Sour with chicken was really delicious too! Their Chicken Satay is cut differently and thick. Comes two to an order. The presentation or cut surprised us. It looked like fried bananas! We also ordered their delicious Vegetable Egg Roll. Future tries: cocktails and wines. Featured:CHICKEN SATAYSucculent strips of marinated chicken tender served with aromatic peanut sauce.VEGETABLE EGG ROLLDeep fried wonton wrappers stuffed with cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and bean thread.PANANG CURRY with PorkCumin flavor with bell peppers, green beans, cabbage & bamboo shoots in coconut milk.SWEET AND SOUR with ChickenStir fried with pineapples, bell peppers, carrots, celery, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes in sweet and sour sauce

We tried this place for the first time for dine-in. Service was meh - slow to take our order, we weren't provided plates when our appetizer came out, and when asked questions, our server just seemed confused. The food was pretty good, however. Our group ordered pad see ewe, pad thai, Bangkok fried rice, & Sanun fried rice, and everyone thought everything was tasty. We also ordered the veggie potstickers and were a little underwhelmed by them - at $7 for only 4 tiny potstickers, I probably wouldn't order these again.I asked for some extra chili flakes to go with my meal and was told that they didn't have chili flakes but had chili powder - a bit strange since this is a common request at Thai restaurants. It's a small dining area anyways where the tables are pretty close together, so takeout is probably the way to go here. I did enjoy my entree so I would consider coming here again for takeout, but the service could use some improvements.

I dined in once and ordered takeout. Dine in experience was a bit slow, but they had just opened and you can tell they are a bit understaffed both in the kitchen and in the dining area. No plates were given when our rolls came out. It was also extremely hot in the restaurant. As for the food, I would not recommend the fried egg rolls, there was barely any filling and it was very bland. The food came out hot and both the pad Thai and shrimp and octopus drunken noodles were delicious in flavor although the noodles in the drunken noodle was a bit too Al dente. Drinks were ok- a bit too sweet. The dine in experience was ok enough for us to try again through take out. For takeout a few weeks later, we ordered chicken pad thai and beef drunken noodles. My husband liked his pad Thai but the drunken noodle flavor wasn't as flavorful as the first time I had it but the part that I didn't like at all was the beef. It was SO tough, I expect the beef to be in a dish like this to be tenderized but this was not. It was so chewy and tough and makes me wary of ordering anymore beef dishes from this restaurant again. I'm hoping they will make a change so we come back, but I disagree with the other reviews that this is the best Thai restaurant.

I am so excited that this place opened really close to our area. The food is absolutely wonderful and authentic. Each time we have ordered takeout. It has only been a 20 minute wait which is amazing. We have ordered the crab Rangoon, vegetable eggrolls, pad Thai, Tom ka soup and pad see ewe. We ordered everything with medium spice and it was perfect for us as we prefer things a little bit more on the spicy side. My apologies on the quality of the photos... the phone did not eat first

The food is great. Best Thai I have had in the area thus far. Service is great. We have had the same waiter 3 times - informed, helpful, kind. The restaurant is new so it's clean and well designed. I love the green accent color. We will be back - often!

I haven't written a Yelp review in years, but Sanun was so phenomenal that I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this awesome spot so it stays open! I recently moved to Coal Creek Canyon from Superior, where I was definitely spoiled by Busaba Thai (consistently ranked as the best Thai in the Denver metro area). When a new neighbor recommended this, I wanted to check it out, but didn't have high hopes. However, Sanun was even BETTER than Busaba - and the atmosphere was adorable and perfect for a date night! We started with the chicken pot stickers, which came out perfectly crispy with a light pan fry. We also got summer rolls, which are my favorite dish; I always get them when they are on the menu. These weren't the usual stuffed with cheap noodles and maybe a piece or two of lettuce, but had dense spinach and carrots that made them really fresh and flavorful, which was exactly what I was looking for in wanting some veggies to go with my meal. The peanut sauce they came with was also delicious, if a bit spicy. In general, the food was definitely on the spicy side, which we liked, but if you prefer mild to no spice, you should probably emphasize that (we asked for mild and to my taste buds it was closer to medium). For our entrees, we got the Sanun fried rice and chicken pad thai. The pad thai was great, but the star of the show was the fried rice. It was studded with tons of chicken and shrimp, as well as some pineapple, snow peas, and some cashews for a bit of crunch, and they put the perfect amount of curry powder in to give it a bit of earthy richness without being overpowering. The whole dish was incredibly balanced, and I loved the heat level - one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. We didn't get drinks this visit, but the bar was adorable, with beautiful green velvet chairs and lovely gold and green decor everywhere, including plants all around. This is going to become a regular haunt for me, and I'm really excited to find a place close to home where I can take out of town guests to impress them with the food. Five stars!
