San Marcos Mexican Restaurant

Loved the decor here. This is a casual place great for meeting friends because there's a little something for everyone on their menu. I ordered Ala Carte a shrimp taco and steak enchilada. Hubs ordered a mix of chicken and steak fajitas. This was served up fresh to my table. Of course, I had to try their signature marg which complemented both my meak and experience. My son ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla which isn't a menu item we see at every Mexican restaurant. He said it was the best! Will be back.

I came with a group of 24 people on a Saturday night. So the staff gets all the credit for being so organized and having our table ready.The waiter was super organized and in control and that cannot be easy to do with so much to keep organized. He did a pretty solid job at keeping the water glasses refilled and handled the separate check very well also.I ordered one of the mixtos with steak, chicken, shrimp, vegetables, rice, and a ton of queso on a skillet. Great food, though I will say it was a little too much queso, to where it almost overwhelmed some of the other ingredients. I did add some of the table salsa, which helped. But I think next time, I'd go easy on the queso and pay for a side of guac.I don't know if it's the best Mexican food I have had in the Triangle, but it ranks really high up!

During our trip to North Carolina, we stumbled upon San Marcos Mexican Restaurant, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. Initially, we were a bit hesitant about having Mexican food, but this place quickly changed our minds. The cleanliness and maintenance of the place were also impressive, adding to the overall positive impression.The service at San Marcos was exceptional. The staff were very attentive and friendly, making sure that all our needs were met promptly. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which enhanced our dining experience. As for the food, it was on a whole different level. Every dish we tried was savory, flavorful, and enjoyable with each bite. From the appetizers to the main courses, the flavors were rich and satisfying. Each bite was a delight, making it hard to pick a favorite dish because everything was so delicious.In particular, the steak was cooked to perfection, with a perfect blend of spices and tenderness that made it melt in our mouths. The tacos and tortillas were another standout, with a rich, flavorful sauce that complemented the fillings beautifully. Even the sides, like the rice and beans, were seasoned perfectly and added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I definitely recommend trying San Marcos Mexican Restaurant if you're in the mood for Mexican cuisine. It's a gem worth discovering, offering an authentic and thoroughly enjoyable dining experience that will leave you eager to return.

This place was great. The food was super tasty. The decore was awesome. This looked like a theme park.

Early Cinco de Mayo lunch for our group resulted in a visit to San Marcos on a Thursday. We made a reservation for 20 but only 16 showed up. But our table was ready when we arrived at 11am. We also had individual salsa bowls and baskets of chips. Our group loved the design of the building and the restaurant decor. It's how we imagined the cultural dining would be in Mexico. Our waiter was Chris who was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. He was very responsive and attentive to the table but I didn't get a refill of my water. We placed our drink orders and had some time to review the menu. Then we placed orders and were able to request individual tickets. The restaurant had a pleasant fun vibe even though it was lunchtime. Music played throughout and apparently employees were getting ready for Cinco de Mayo activities. Food came in about 15-20 minutes. A server brought a portion of the orders and about 5 minutes or less the rest were brought out. Nicely plated and the food smelled and looked fresh and tasty. I had a half enchilada with mushrooms with rice and fresh lettuce and tomato slice and it was delicious. Will definitely try San Marcos again.

In March 2024, I was in Raleigh for a family function. Stayed at the hotel next to San Marcos, so I walked over one night for dinner. BEST dinner decision! The food was absolutely delicious! It was a Saturday night, so the restaurant was busy and lively. I had a short 25 minute wait. Once seated, the service was fast. The server, Edgar, was friendly. I ate the San Marcos steak burrito and it was one of the best burritos I've had. Other members in my party ordered the Chimichanga, Taco Salad and quesadillas. All items were delicious and received rave reviews from my family. I highly recommend choosing San Marcos for a meal when in Raleigh.

This place rocks! Everything from the outdoor seating to the indoor vibe. There's plenty of space here, so bring plenty of people. This place is great for a large groups, families, and friends. They have a huge menu stacked with loads of drinks and food entrées to follow.with nice amazing staff, great past decor, this place is easily one of the best, Mexican restaurants in town.

Overpriced, no flavor, and.... RATS!!! we stayed in the hotel next door and when leaving the restaurant to walk back to hotel 3-4 large rates were running between the hotel parking lot and the restaurant kitchen area!! In partial daylight. That means there are more where those came from.

the food and service are good. came on a Saturday night with my family and was seated quickly. only bad thing was the music. the DJ is unnecessary and way too loud our poor waitress could barely hear us and we could barely hear her. not to mention it's a family establishment not a school dance.

Me and my family we when traveling to North Carolina I seen this place in tik tok we were really impressing and excited to eat in this place ,food average okay, but the service was really bad,my waitress seen she didn't want to be there to served us or didn't want to work horrible service she had a ughly attitude. Waitress Wanted to argue with me, over something that I wanted to add in my tacos and she snap out of it her hands at me and my family with a bad attitude, she try so hard to have a tip at the end of the course but we decided not to give her any tip she didn't earn it at the beginning .the waitress name is Mireidys R I know her name cause I keep the receipt at the end.
