I'm so tired of amazing Filipino restaurants getting lower ratings just because people complain about the ambiance or service. Good food sometimes negates all of that. And honestly? This place proves it.First off, everyone here is super nice and we do take out here all the time. There's also a lot of room inside if you're wanting to sit--not one of those tiny, cramped spots where you're practically sitting on top of the next table--big plus. Now, the food. The pork adobo? It has great flavor, exactly what you want--savory, tangy, and comforting. But wow, it was greasy. I know adobo isn't supposed to be "light," but this was a bit much. So, I gotta take one star off for that. But the pancit and bangus sisig? They are absolute stars of the show. The pancit had that perfect balance of flavors--not too salty, bland, just right--and the texture was on point. And the bangus sisig? It's easily the best thing on the table: Crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. I'd come back just for that.Overall, this place deserves way more love. You'll walk out happy if you care more about the food than nitpicking the little things. Will be back!

I ordered bangus sisig, lechon kawali, garlic rice, turon with ice cream. All dishes tasted very authentic and flavorful. Nothing was overcooked. The garlic was not overbearing for the garlic fried rice, perfect balance of rice to garlic. The lechon kawali wasn't too fatty but still had great flavor. The turon with ice cream was surprisingly the best item ordered for the meal which was a nice touch for the end of the meal. Firmly recommend this restaurant, good Filipino restaurants in the bay are hard to come by!Service was decent. Ambiance was clean and welcoming to larger and small parties.

I have been going to Via Mare for years because their food are consistently delicious! It is not fine dining, so i don't know why others have high expectations. It's a place to go to, if you are craving a home cooked Filipino Food but have no time to cook. Also its a place where you can introduce your non Filipino friends to a filipino dish. My non Filipino Friends love it because The food in general are resonably priced and delicious! There was a time when I brought my other friends of different nationalities for dinner and they were charging entrance fee for a concert. We were there after long hours at work to have a nice quiet dinner and have a nice conversation, not for a concert or karaoke concert. Well, as it turned out, the music was so loud that we can't hear each other talk. Since then everytime i would invite my friends, they would tell me to make sure that we can have a nice quiet dinner. I think they have improved on that already and made weekends a concert time. So on weekends we go to Avenida in San Mateo. On the service side, The servers are all nice and kind and accomodating. But It can be slow, and the management is to be blamed for under staffing.

Got the fried chicken and kaldareta this time, but you really can't go wrong with anything here! Easy going staff and service, and same with parking around here. Hard to say no to this place whenever I'm driving by it.

My wife and I visited Via Mare in the Philippines and we were excited to discover that there's a VM in the Bay Area! The experience was the same if not better! The table service was fairly quick. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, delicious and prepared perfectly.Mind you there were only four of us and we ordered for at six!We ordered crispy pata, beef nilaga, pancit bihon, V M bbq pork, fried chicken and Shanghai lumpia! Everyone really enjoyed their choices. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Fried rice was great . Didn't like the panga it was undercooked and kinda fishy . The restaurant needs more lighting. Call first for the schedule. I've been here a couple of times and it's not too busy . I really love the one in the Philippines.

Being Filipino with a mom that is an amazing cook, I rarely eat out for Filipino food. I find many restaurants only make a few things that make me go 'wow' and the rest of the menu tends to be somewhat mediocre.Friend of mine recommended this place so treated my parents out for lunch. Bummed that the crispy alimango fried rice was unavailable. The bangus sisig was a surprisingly large portion. Perfect mix of crispy bits and moist fish. Probably the best I've had in the area. The toasted pork adobo was perfect. Lomi was very good too but could do w less thickening of the soup. Needless to say was not disappointed. Need to come back and try a few more things

The family splurged on Filipino food today. You best prepare yourself for some amazing home hooked meals. The flavors were amazing, my favorite dish was the pork belly and the bitter Melon curry dish. Def will be coming back to this spot. So close to home and Def need to be more cultured in how amazing Filipino food is.They also have live performances, some locals, and some who even fly all the way from the Philippines! Def a mabuhay spot!

First time ordering Pork Sinigang from Via Mare via UberEats. The sabaw was delicious and sour, probably the best flavor compared to other Filipino restaurants nearby. However, we were extremely disappointed at the fat to meat ratio of the pork. The amount of edible meat from the pork was only suitable for one person. We're tracking our macros so the weighed portion of edible meat was 5 ounces and the remainder of fat totaled to 8.2 ounces. It was so disappointing that so much of the pork wasn't actually edible. I wish they used a different cut of pork that has more meat or trimmed more of the fat off. Although the sabaw and everything else was delicious, we likely wouldn't order again because the cost of the order of sinigang, Uber fees, and tip was not worth what we were actually able to consume.
