Vegan Bistro Donuts & Cafe

This is a nice spot to get some vegan donuts if you are craving donuts but don't want the traditional donuts. They have a good variety and the donuts are really rich. You sell coffee also if you like to have it with your donuts. Staff is nice and very welcoming. They can help make some selections if you are looking for suggestions. Place is clean and nicely kept. And this place is near to downtown so you can enjoy your donuts while enjoying the downtown settings.

I really appreciated having a vegan donut option around the hotel I stayed at. The original donuts were tasty. The apple fritter was so so. I enjoyed my freshly brewed coffee drink. I did go when it was almost lunch time and the donuts were dwindling in choices. Perhaps go earlier! Still recommend for a fresh vegan donut fix. Staff was friendly! This shop shares a building with the ban mi shop.

I live out of town but if I'm in town Thursday to Sunday I stop by to get vegan banh mi sandwich and vegan donuts and I'm not vegan that's how good it is , just wish they were open 6-7 days week

Vegan Bistro Donuts is a tasty and reliable option near SJSU campus. I came here on a weekend with my partner and we both loved our experience here. I have been to this cafe a few times, and the donuts are always so delicious. I love all the different flavors they have, and it's awesome how much variety there is. They also make a great Vietnamese coffee and other refreshing drinks. The employees are always very friendly and accommodating to any requests. They also have a discount if you get a half dozen or a dozen donuts, which gives you all the more reason to try as many flavors as you want! My partner isn't vegan, and they were wowed by how delicious the donuts were. The cafe itself is also very relaxed and is a great place to sit and chill for a bit

I got donuts and drinks today to go with my vegan bánh mì from Aina's. I got an iced Vietnamese coffee and my boyfriend got an iced Thai tea. We both enjoyed our drinks. The donuts we got were amazing as well! I highly recommend the chocolate Oreo donut and the chocolate cream filled donut. As a note, they offer both cake and raised donuts here! The cake donuts are denser and richer while the raised donuts are lighter and fluffier. Both are delicious, but the raised donuts are my favorite! They also sell out quickly. We came at 9:30 on a Friday and they were out of a few flavors already, so try to come early for the best selection!

There are many beautiful things in this world: the pyramids, the galapagos islands, ultimate frisbee, and then Vegan Bistro Donuts in San Jose. Much like "I can't believe its not butter", I could not believe these donuts were vegan. Every donut here looked delicious and I'm sorry I couldn't eat them all. I tried the chocolate donut and ube donut: both were delicious!! Will come back when I'm in town.

I tried the apple fritter and it was just okay for me. The texture made it feel stale. But I warmed it up in my microwave at home and it was much better! Doing this brought out moisture so it wasn't as dry, and I enjoyed it this way. It's a generous size (see picture), but I thought it didn't have as much flavor as I would like. It's a bit pricey at $6.

This vegan bistro in downtown San Jose is a hidden gem! I had the pleasure of trying their "Ocean of Love" sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich is a delightful mix of chickpeas, hearts of palm, soy protein, celery, red onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, all garnished with cilantro and basil. The flavors were so well-balanced, and the fresh baguette added a nice crunch to every bite.Additionally, I ordered the Passion Dragon smoothie, and it was fantastic. Made with passion fruit, dragon fruit, mango, almond milk, and agave, it was incredibly refreshing and had a perfect natural sweetness.For anyone seeking mouthwatering vegan options, this bistro is a must-visit. Both the sandwich and smoothie were delicious, and I'll definitely be back for more!

I had been eager to try their matcha donut, but I was let down as it wasn't the fluffy type I had anticipated. Instead, it had a denser, more cake-like texture. Furthermore, the matcha flavor was rather mild, which was disappointing since I enjoy tasting the richness of matcha.On a positive note, I'm pleased to know that this place is vegan, locally owned, and committed to sustainability. Despite my experience with the matcha donut, I'm inclined to explore their other flavors, especially since reviews suggest there are varying textures and flavors to be explored.

I love this spot! It's in a very convenient location in downtown SJ right next to the campus of SJSU. I've gone to the Vegan Donut Gelato in Oakland as well, which I believe might be run by the same folks. I love how cozy and inviting the vibe is at the cafe. All of the donut selections are so creative and tasty, and I love how yeasty and fresh the donuts are. My favorites are probably the chocolate cream filled donut, the apple fritter (which is huge!), and the strawberry filled donut. You also can't go wrong with any of the cake donuts.The staff are all very friendly and kind. Overall, it's such a great vibe! One thing I will say is to make sure you check the hours before you go, as they are a bit limited
