Another cool cafe to visit in the Page Mill/Foothill area. I liked this place but not as much as I like Tibco. I do like how they have a lot of fresh options and a lot of the grab and go options looked good as well - I saw a lot of folks making salads at the salad bar. I thought the servers were all friendly and there were a lot of meatless choices. I didn't think the soup selection was as good as the one at Tibco, but it's nice they had two choices. I had the panini and it was really good and comes with your choice of side, including having a side of asparagus if you want to be healthier. (I got the fries.) I also really like that they have a large variety of fruit-infused waters available for free. The price seems comparable to other places in the area and also I heard that if you are an actual Varian employee you get a discount, which seems nice. I could definitely see that if you were working here, they mix up the menu enough so that you could avoid getting into too much of a lunch rut. For a visitor, I did find that the cafe didn't seem quite large enough, many of the tables were full. Also it was a little hard to find visitor parking, and I ended up just parking in one of the open lots. My car wasn't towed, so not really an issue as far as I can tell.

Quite unexpectedly we found this cafe. All I can say is wow. The public may use this cafe--you don't have to wear a name badge! This is the cleanest cafe with SO many choices. Cold salad bar, soups, fruit choices. There's a sandwich bar with cold cuts, there's a grill for hamburgers or loco mocos, or chicken, and there's a hot plate area for things like try tip sandwich and a vegetable side. You can get your food to go or stay in. The eating area is spacious, clean and large. On nice days there's a great patio area that is quiet!!! I was really impressed with how nicely dressed everyone was and how mostly everyone was having real conversations with each other and NOT on their phones!! Thank you VARIAN!!

Came by for lunch the other day while visiting the Varian campus. The cafe seems like the most modern part of the campus!Had the angus prime NY steak with a side of hand breaded onion rings which were quite tasty and made to order. Despite the ~5-10 minute wait, portion was decent and pricing seemed to have been subsidized by possibly Varian?Seating is plentiful in the cafeteria.Note: This is part of their unsecured area so it's technically open to the public.

BUSINESS LUNCH This cafe is located on Varian Medical Systems campus. Yes, even if you don't work there you are more than welcome to eat there. When I am working at the Southbay office I am surrounded by first world problems. 1) unfamiliar with the area and don't know where to eat 2) it's not the city it's Silicon Valley so seeking a place to eat is minimal 3) selections... There aren't many. The trick is to goto other corporation/HQ's campuses and eat at their cafes. Scored me a great place! Selections selections selections AND AFFORDABLE PRICING! On yelp it says they close at 4. That's a lie, it's actually 2pm. Maybe the espresso bar connected to the cafe is open until 4 and that's not the cafe. Service is predominantly self serve but the staff were so friendly - I appreciate friendly staff! They have a variety and to name a few: salad and soup bar, grill station, deli station, pizza etc etc etc. all items were priced decent for its portion. That sounds like a fairytale when considering working in Silicon Valley! I kept my first experience simple. If simple can impress me I'll be back for the other heavier goods.MINESTRONE SOUP - cup or bowl, your choice. Self portion control, pour as you please. The soup was very hearty and tasty. It want overloaded with sodium and didn't put me in an afternoon food commas behind my computer! SALAD BAR - they charge by pound. Their salad bar was "off the hook" with a lot of healthy options. I didn't know where to begin with all these selections to choose from. I must recommend getting the sweet potato dish located next to the soups. It was phenomenal! I can eat an entire plate of it by itself. FRUIT SHAKE - super healthy. It had a mixed of fruit, Greek yogurt, and honey. Kind of pricy ($4.95 for a small) but it was needed because Southbay is hot. Will I be back! Yup..

Although this is a Varian company café, it is open to the public, and you can't beat the quality for the price. It's cafeteria style - pick up what you want and pay the cashier - and the cashiers are SO friendly!Salad and sandwich bar with a great variety, made to order specials, delicious sandwiches and wraps, amazing burgers - I can't say enough about the choices.Everything is always very fresh with lots of organic and local options. They also have a 'Mindful' special every day, which is a more healthy option (but so delicious, you forget ).

This company cafeteria is convenient and has a lot of great options. A salad bar. Two soups a day that change every day of the week. Different stations for different kinds of meals. A make your own sandwich, burger, and pizza station. Desserts that change every day of the week. Lots of great options. But keep in mind this is a workplace cafeteria, so you'll see a lot of employees grabbing lunch on their break. Anyone is welcome to eat here. There is a huge Indoor seating area and plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Highly recommend the Korean BBQ beef! I work in the Vegas office, but I wish I could visit this location more often for the wide variety of meal options. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the prices are very reasonable. Varian employees get a discount.

Myself and my guests got food poisoning from the hainanese chicken! I've been sick nonstop since I ate here! What is even worse is I am a vegetarian and asked if there was any meat in the broth, I was told no and I gound chicken in it! Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional! Why didn't the man making our food practice safe cooking! And why did I get chicken!
