This is by far the best restaurant for healthy food in the Bay Area. The vibe is amazing, the staff is incredibly friendly, and every dish I've had here has exceeded my expectations. Thanks for the experience--this will definitely be my new favorite restaurant.

Urban Kitchen on California Street in Burlingame is a great spot for those looking for a healthy and clean eating experience. While parking can be a bit tricky, with street parking being your best bet, the food is well worth the potential parking hassle. As someone who appreciates clean eating, I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here.On my visit, I had the Kale Caesar Salad with Chimichurri Steak (cooked well-done as requested). The dressing was perfect - just the right amount to complement the greens without drowning them. You could still taste the fresh vegetables, which is exactly what I look for in a salad. I also tried the Chicken Katsu, which was very good. The accompanying tiny quinoa was a delicious surprise.I'm already planning my next visit to try their breakfast items. Highly recommend ! yummy yummy

Stopped by at 1pm on a weekday with a friend of mine. We had 45mins to eat before getting back to work. There is plenty of metered street parking as well as several parking lots with meters. The salads came out rather quickly, which was much appreciated since we were on a time crunch. The salads we ordered are as outlined below:The healer with chicken: 5/5 - I love how there is an abundance of different ingredients, giving the salad different types of textures making it more fun to eat. It had chicken, brown rice, kale, roasted cauli, picked vegetables, roasted sweet potatoes, hummis, crispy chick peas, lemon dressing. An abundance of different taste qualities; savory, sour, sweet, all in one. The ingredients all come together very nicely. Would recommend!Steak fajita bowl: 5/5 - can't comment too much since it was my friend who ordered this bowl. However, he mentioned that the steak was quite tender, cooked to perfection and the cumin crema (salad dressing) paired well with the steak. This definitely seems more tangy, especially with addition of tomatoes as well. Staff were friendly. Able to answer all the questions I had regarding the menu. Ambinace was nice with plenty of tables available. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

We saw this place had 4.9 stars on Google and had to come and try it out on route to the city! There were no lines for brunch on the weekend, even though the place was packed. It was a bit of a fast casual place, where you ordered first before finding seats. We got the chicken burrito and the shashuka Benedict:1) The shashuka benedict was pretty flavourful and packed with tomatoes. But because it was so tomatoes-forward, the tomato juice made the English muffin really soggy. The potatoes that came as a side were meh.2) The chicken burrito on the other hand was not flavourful AT ALL, and it was really dry. The fries were also too hard...I probably would not order this again if given the choice.Portion wise, the food was good, although I really didnt understand the hype!! We also ordered two coffees and they were just okay.

Decided to try this place with some friends for brunch after seeing the great reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't quite see what the hype was about. Urban Kitchen seems to specialize in healthy, clean eating. The food felt fresh but nothing special, and I don't think it justifies the price. The interior had a fast-casual chain vibe, which felt a bit sterile. The service was friendly. The coffee was mediocre.I tried the Morning Bowl (quinoa, avocado, tomatoes, double-baked breakfast potatoes, topped with two poached eggs) and the Bacon 'n' Cheese Omelet. The quinoa in the Morning Bowl was served cold, which I didn't appreciate. The portion size was unimpressive (I came after a workout class and wasn't full afterward).

Fantastic Meal! The flavors were incredible, and honestly, the dish didn't even need the side of lemon oregano dressing--it was that good on its own. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the entire dish was bursting with vibrant colors, making it visual appealing. I loved the variety in my bowl: chicken, grains, roasted cauliflower, carrots, savory roasted sweet potatoes, hummus, and my favorite, the crispy chickpeas. Each bite was a delightful mix of textures and flavors.By the end of the meal, I felt full but not overly stuffed.

Today was my second visit within a week. I was impressed with the variety of healthy dishes that all look delicious. On the first visit, I had "The Healer", a brown rice quinoa bowl with blackened chicken, roasted cauliflower, pickled carrots, crunchy roasted chickpeas, and hummus. It was a five star mouth party of tastes and textures. Today, I had the miso salmon grain bowl with cabbage, sweet potato, and pickled vegetables. It lacked the variety of the Healer, but was a solid 4 stars.

Came here for the 1st time and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the Chimichurri Steak bowl & grilled salmon plate. Both are delicious and healthy! The customer service was amazing--we were given a free plate of hummus and pita bread while we waited for our plate.... with a wide-awake infant :-)
