Nice little spot in Redwood City. They have a pool table, and Karokee night. This venue was not too busy during 8pm to 9pm. The crowd starts to come in at 10:00ish and gets more crowded at 11:00pm. Friendly staff and reasonable priced drinks. Nice little spot to hang out. Parking can get a little tough because the parking lot fills in fast.

if you love rude bartenders, bars that don't carry ginger ale (or can make it), and the all white crowd of regulars monopolizing the lone pool table, then this is the perfect bar for you. Umm never coming back. Thanks Redwood City.

Been a night time reg. here for over 4 years now. This is my go-to bar here in Redwood City. IMO it is thee #1 bar. The prices arent as bad as I was complaining about last review. They have funny ass trivia nights on weds. & great bands on sat.night starting a bit after 9pm. Bud, Boont, Shocktop and Pabst on tap. Bud, bud light, mgd, miller light, coors light, corona, heineken, stella, amstel light in bottles. Tues&thurs karaoke. They also have narrow outside rear smoking section. If the store front parking lot is full, its perfectly ok to park across the street where the gold star liquor is at and your car will not get towed. If you wanna enjoy a pint or a cocktail while eating the bar also has no problem letting customers bring in food from next door thai or peruvuian restaurants either =)

Small Bar, but Big Fun! The bar has staff that are friendly and always serve a drink with a smile! I usually hang out on Wednesday Nights for the Trivia and Friday Nights for the Karaoke. Both hosted by the fabulous DJ BKR aka Cris of BKR Productions, Inc. But, any night of the week you will find the juke box playing, game on the TV or regulars having great conversation.

Had a horrible experience here. Not recommending anyone to come here. Terrible bartender, she's quite an asshole actually, and terrible crowd. Went here for the first time a few nights ago and never coming back. First, when my partner and I got there we saw a pool table. A couple of people were playing. Then, the game finished and the pool table was free for quite a bit of time. So we thought "hey, let's play. It'll be fun." When my partner and I tried playing one of the customers, who seemed to be regular there, told us that there was a list to play. Okay, no big deal, right? But this customer proceeded to call this guy, who seemed to be her boyfriend or something, to let us know that there was a list. It's like okay, we get it- there is a list, we didn't know, my bad, no big deal- they can play- whatever. A few minutes later, the same guy brought another friend to explain to us that there was a list...and continued to explain for quite some time. Now, that was a little too annoying. No need to fucking explain a zillion fucking times that there was a goddamn list. We know what a list is. We didn't even want to play as much as they did. Okay, so the pool table debacle was finally over. We decided to stay for one more round of drinks (only our second one) and not let those annoying people ruin our night. As I handed the bartender my card, she went on to say that if I was going to close it that we couldn't order another round. Like wtf, why? It wasn't like the place was crowded and that she was busy. The asshole bartender didn't give a shit about anyone, but her regulars. Excellent customer service to them, but horrible to everyone else. Clearly, she didn't want business. So if you're looking for a neighborhood bar to just hangout, have a good time, and receive great customer service, this bar is NOT it.

Came here with a friend to get a drink a little while back. The place seemed cool and all but as soon as I walked there I felt as if i wasn't welcome. This place is in my home town and I wanted to try it at least once. We were harassed by one of the regulars there who came at us saying "If it ain't American I don't like it ". And some other stuff that clearly showed us that we weren't welcome. Let's just say we didnt get to enjoy the bar at all because of the feel it gave us. I understand it's not the bar's fault but we are living in the bay area. This stuff should not be happening.

The Villa Roma Lounge is a great neighborhood bar that is friendly and welcoming. I like to go there for Karaoke on Fridays, Comedy every other Wednesday, live local bands on Saturdays, and especially for the killer blues jam on Sunday evening. The Villa has booth, table and bar seating, as well as a table out front and benches in the back for chatting and/or smoking. There are also 3 HD TV's and free Wi-Fi access, plus free nachos, popcorn, and hotdogs at select times. Please see my website Redwood City Vibe for the schedule of upcoming events at the Villa Roma and other popular local bars and venues. http://redwoodcityvibe.com/The Gold Star Market is right across the street, so you can get cash at the ATM, snacks, smokes, and/or essentials if you stayed too long at the Villa and now have no time to get to the grocery store! Just don't leave your car at the Gold Star's parking lot while you are at the Villa - it might get towed....There are two restaurants in the little complex, one Mexican food and the other Thai. You can order your food and have it delivered to you at the Villa Roma next door....just don't forget to tip! There are a few other business in the complex that I have not tried out yet - a dry cleaners, pet groomer, and one more which I do not recall at the moment.

The bar is kind of dark and has no AC so its warm in the Summer, but that doesn't take away from it's very traditional dive atmosphere. They have cheap/moderate drinks and have a surprisingly decent selection. (A nice Pino Noir at a dive? Who knew.)The bartenders are cool, but remember there is usually only one, so if they are not at the bar they may be smoking outside or in the back restocking. The best park about the VR is the trivia (why its 4-5 star rating). They have awesome Wednesday night trivia with a really great group of people. The DJ totally rocks, and is super funny. He tells some great dirty jokes too. There is food right next door (Thai and Mexican) and 7-11 is nearby. The only problem is parking, there is a really small lot and just residential parking. So please if you do park by people's houses make sure you are not blocking people's gates/driveways/doors. I know a lot of retired people who get blocked in, so be respectful. :)

Extreme friendly neighborhood bar. People here are modest and very friendly. The first day they paid for my beer, the second time they invited me to play a pool. Bartender is very responsive and friendly. If you're living in the neighborhood or a visitor, you must visit to feel true American spirit there.
