The View Restaurant & Bar

Our server, Gianni, was very friendly. I'm glad we had him for all 3 meals. My kids say he reminded them of their favorite server from Disney cruises. For me, he was well attentive without being over bearing.This place has a good view of the Santa Cruz mountain. Despite the rain, still one of the top view of the area.

Well I was invited to The view restaurant today, I decided to go back. I ordered the same thing the chicken sandwich, it was dry, it was much better this time, but I noticed and everyone else did too that fries were over salted. But the service was still not the best, I don't believe it was the server, I think it's the kitchen. The first thing the server said is the kitchen is runny behind so it will be awhile. We wanted the green bean appetizer, but they were out. My Son ordered non alcoholic beer, they were out. He ordered an impossible burger, but they gave him a black bean burger. It took about 30 minutes to get the food out. But the dishes looked better and they had 1/2 pickle as garnish. It's a beautiful restaurant, but definitely needs tweaking.

Gianni was a great server! We sat outside and on a crisp morning, but the heaters kept us cozy! We shared steak and eggs and an amazing latte. The staff were very accommodating with the modifications we asked for. Highly recommended!

Stayed the weekend for a little get away and had a wonderful experience. Ate every meal at The View. Food is good, staff wonderful, beautiful seating arrangements and gorgeous view. The desserts! Wowzer, we had the toffee cake one night and the cheesecake the next! That toffee cake was crazy good, the raspberry cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've eaten. Very pleased will def stay again and bring friends :)

We had a mini getaway to Santa Cruz and decided to stay at the Chaminade. The View didn't have the best reviews but we figured we'd try it out. We were seated outdoors next to a heater so it wasn't too bad, but the rainy weather sadly prevented us from enjoying any sort of view. Fortunately, the food was better than expected! We ordered a few cocktails (pretty standard), the calamari, steak frites and sticky toffee. The calamari was nice and tangy, it was definitely our favorite. Steak was cooked perfectly. The sticky toffee with ice cream was a lovely way to end the meal. Service left a little to be desired; we noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but it was never acknowledged by our server.

Came here last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday, we were immediately greeted by beautiful server Kaella ,she sat us down and from the beginning she was very attentive to the entire table of 7 she was great at explaining dishes and gave suggestions for non dairy dishes. Dinner was delicious and appreciated the customer service that was given to us. Thank you Kaella for making our experience more enjoyable

Amazing view, outdoor heaters allowed us to enjoy the patio seating and view. Food was ok - would have expected more based on the $$ but the view and location made it worth it. We had reservations so no wait. We did share we were here to celebrate our anniversary but there was no acknowledgment. We are staying on the property so we'll try breakfast tomorrow.

Chef Avram Samuels is constantly innovating and bringing seasonal culinary excellence to this restaurant. New york steak came out a perfect medium rare, salmon was falling apart and moist, short rib is absolutely on point and the crab cakes are a must. Pair this with the gorgeous view of the Monterey Bay in the back round. Was our first visit with many more to come.

Perfect place for weekend getaways. Breakfast was great and the server, Gianni, was even better. Highly recommend this place!

Spent a nice Sunday afternoon at the Chaminade for lunch. The service was great. Very attentive staff. Gabe was very personable and friendly. The views are spectacular and the food and drinks were delicious, exceeded our expectations.
