My sister came from out of town. She knows hospitality being an executive in hotel restaurant management for thirty years. She went there for holiday a thing and confirmed it. This place is a dump and should be avoided at all costs. The restrooms smell like latrines. The ice smells awful. They barely clean the place. The bartender doesn't seem to be a high school graduate. This bar is a disgrace of Atherton, Redwood City , and Woodside. it will be a good day when this place loses their license.

This place allows tons of underage kids. Seriously. Went multiple times and seen the bouncer not IDing literal teenagers. I have seen fist fights both times I have been to this horrible establishment.

This is pretty much an institution, when I was a kid I think this was the only bar in town, and it wasn't until very recently that Redwood City had any others.I had always been curious about this place, and the first time I visited it was to have Long Island Iced teas with some friends. The drinks were very strong. The second time I visited was to celebrate the birthday of some friends. The drinks were strong, and reasonably priced. Cash only was a bummer. I didn't drive so I can't comment on the parking. This is definitely a dive bar, and like a lot of those, it has character and it's veers towards the rowdy side, with music and games and lots of loud conversations. There's an outdoor area too, where they allow dogs. Seating is on picnic tables, so if it's in winter you'll want to dress warm if you'll be out there. The area itself is not exactly a nightlife hotspot. It's across the street from a supermarket, on a pretty dull block of Woodside Road. So coming here is most likely going to be a little inconvenient for you.Still, it's a good spot if you're into dive bars and just want to unwind. The service is good there's a bank next door if you need cash.

I've lived in San Mateo County for almost two decades and have heard tales of the Saddle Room, but this is my first visit. It's a tiny, hole-in-the-wall, old-school Redwood City dive bar. As the name implies, it's a western theme, and I assume it has a lot to do with all of the horse ranches further out Woodside Rd. I don't know how true it is, but I feel like the Saddle Room was one of the few businesses along this stretch of Woodside Road remaining from when this was the southwestern edge of town. There's a back patio that we did not explore. The bar inside is tiny, old, and cluttered. You won't like it if you're claustrophobic, but you'll love it if you want to feel like you just walked into an old-time wagon trail watering hole. While enjoying our heavy pours, we heard different music, from country to 80s synth-pop, to which the same folks sang. There are sports on the tiny old-school flatscreens which are sufficient given the room's scale. Good times and we will enjoy stopping in again sometime.

Love this tiny dive bar, which is clearly a neighborhood place. The bartender was very pleasant, provided good service and helped with recommendations for other local places.

Yay for the last neighborhood bar in a Redwood City! A true gem that keeps on. Is cash only but the ATM is a few paces away. The bartenders all rock and you'll enjoy your visit.

As heard in the Saddle Room on a recent visit:"I haven't had a drink in two weeks." "Why not?""I'm tryin' to quit." "Then why are you here?""Cuz I wanted to talk to you!"
