Ordered for delivery thru GrubHub and the delivery went smoothly. BUT let me tell you about The Nest Asian Bistro.I ordered 8 Soyum wings, garlic noodles and a black milk tea.Since I did order around 7:45pm, I didn't realize they close at 8pm. The lady called and let me know that they were out of some items and asked if it was ok to substitute. I understood it was end of the work day, so I didn't mind.I ended up getting 4 wings & 4 boneless wings, garlic noodles and a jasmine milk tea.Chicken was perfectly crispy and evenly coated in the sauce. How do they get it that crispy?! It was delicious.Garlic noodles was super garlicky just as I love! & the noodles were cooked perfectly.Jasmine milk tea hit the spot! It was the right sweetness and super cold when I got it. All in all, glad my friend recommended this place to me and let me try a chicken wing last time I was with her bcus I'm sold. The Nest Asian Bistro is now one of my top wings place!

Stumbled upon this place when we were looking for Friday happy hour places. From the outside, the place looked like someone's house. I kid you not, but after entering, I couldn't help it and asked the Asian cashier if I should take off my shoes before going further! Along with normal bar food items on their happy hour menu, they also have milk tea drinks on happy hour!Oops! Got too fixated on ordering off the happy hour menu and forgot to order their popular wings and garlic noodles. Next time!

Ordered the garlic noodles and added bulgogi steak for a total of about $18. The noodles were cooked al dente and had the right amount of butter and garlic. The 4 shrimps were pre-cooked so they were a bit cold and on the overcooked side. The shrimps also did not have any garlic flavor since it was pre-cooked. The bulgogi "steak" wasn't steak but more like bulgogi you get at kbbq, essentially really thin meat but it had a good flavor. The plate had plenty of onions and a nice sprinkling of parsley and parmesan cheese. Overall I would skip getting an add on of meat for +$5.00, for $5 the amount of extra meat you get isn't a lot so just save your money. We dined in and they gave us a free bowl of soup, not sure if that's for all dine in but it was nice regardless. The soup was a very tasty simple cabbage and carrot veggie soup. I think the cashier got confused when I asked if the garlic noodles came with shrimp as the default, because I was trying to ask if we could switch the protein since I'm not a big fan of shrimp. She said she could do half and half, but still charged me for $5, so I think there was an issue with the language barrier which is why I felt like my plate was lacking the $5 additional money I spent on extra protein. Regardless the service was good and I would come back.

Came with a larger group with friends at an off hour. Parking immediately nearby is not very convenient, but this is downtown San Jose so that should not be a surprise. Some of us came together via an Uber and others parked in a nearby parking garage. We were the only customers at the time, and we ordered mainly from the happy hour menu which is available 3-6pm and we shared the dishes. The proprietor was very nice and attentive. We got some bao, the banh mi flight, quesadilla, coconut shrimp. We also ordered some fried chicken wings which was not on the happy hour menu but who can say no to fried chicken?Food came out quickly and was overall good. The coconut shrimp had a strong coconut flavor, and I was impressed that the batter actually had a good amount of coconut shreds. I'm used to coconut shrimp being mainly standard batter with a hint of coconut. If you like coconut, this is a must try. The quesadilla was among my fav of the dishes, with delicious savory Asian flavors like oyster sauce I never thought of putting between a tortilla (but which I definitely plan to do at home now!) The accompanying sauce was a good flavor but fairly spicy so be warned. The chicken wings were moist, crunchy, and flavorful. Among my favorites of the night but I also can't say no to chicken wings. I ate one without a spicy sauce but I don't think you can go wrong with any flavor you get.Similar with the bao: the meat was delish and overall a solid pick. The banh mi flight was actually the one I looked forward to the most but was ultimately disappointed with the most. The presentation was nice with the bread and other fillings in one board and meat on the other. However I do wish the sandwiches were preassembled or that at least the bread was precut since it was difficult just pulling it apart and assembling on our own (and mine looked more like a bruschetta at that point lol). Flavors were good and having multiple different meats to pair was nice, but if I return I probably wouldn't order it again.Nice place for groups, some solid options, cute decor and nice staff. Overall a solid options if you're in the area, especially during happy hour

It's a nice fast casual, family owned restaurant. You order at the counter and then find a seat. The owner is super nice and really sweet. We got the pork rice plate with an eggroll and the 8 piece chicken wings with Soyum & Lemon Pepper sauce. The rice plate is pretty good. The pork is seasoned well (it's Vietnamese Thit Nuong) and quite tender. It's not the best thit nuong you'll ever have but it still delicious and reminds me of home & my mom's cooking -- so pretty good in my books. Not a huge fan of the nuoc mam (fish sauce) -- it's a little too tart for my liking, not a strong fish sauce flavor; needed to add some chili paste into it.Now the chicken wings -- absolutely divine. It's fried super well -- really crispy coating and it's still juicy & tender inside. The Soyum is a sweet yet tangy sauce and omg it's so good I need to learn how to make it. The lemon pepper is really good as well.

Found this place because I needed to grab a quick bite while we were attending a volleyball tournament at the San Jose convention center. I was impressed by the quality of food. Hot, juicy and crispy chicken. The employees were super nice. The place is great for small groups.

Found this spot when my friend had a craving for chicken wings but we weren't in the mood for Korean nor American wings. I felt like we stumbled upon a small Vietnamese hole-in-the-wall business! It seems like a great place for college students. The cashier was an auntie who was overly eager to get our order. She had an accent and I could tell it was a bit hard for the people after us to understand her. She was patient with us though although she forgot one of our sides which I had to go in and ask for (it was just white rice but it took her 3 minutes to make; I think it was microwaved). We got the...8 wings, 4 lemon pepper and 4 spicy butter: These wings were small and the cashier knew that so she gave us two extra wings to make up for it. I appreciated that! The breading was perfectly crispy and not greasy. I was able to get sambal hot sauce from the bottles by the register to dip the meat in since it was a little dry. I was surprised about the lemon pepper because I thought it was going to be lemon juice and black pepper, whereas it turned out to be lemon pepper dry seasoning. It was still tasty though.I'm not sure what the spicy butter seasoning was, but it had a slight kick. My mom thinks there's fish sauce in the seasoning from the smell. All in all I enjoyed the wings and was impressed by how many flavors there were.2 spicy pork bao "tacos": We got the spicy pork because our original meat preference wasn't available. The spicy pork was actually spicy and flavorful. It went well with the thickness of the bao. The brightness and crunchiness of the vegetables balanced everything out.Garlic noodles with steak: This was a bit heavy and oily but it was good on flavor. It wasn't overly salty. I think it was a nice carb that went along with our wings. The steak tasted good too. Garlic noodles and wings, a great combo!I'd want to come back and try more wings!

My friend and I went during their happy hour, from 3-6, and their tablet self checkout kiosk does not apply the happy hour item prices to the food items on the menu. Which is eh okay, so we had to order through the front desk lady and she's nice. Anyway we came here because the prices and menu looked good. Unfortunately, the wait time was a bad because we waited 35 minutes for two orders. While we waited for our food, for here BTW, other customers came in to order and they somehow got their food before us. Also, for here I assume because they were eating their food here and the same front desk lady handed their food on a tray. The food itself was okay, but the sauce made it better. Wouldn't come back here. Ambiance was clean and okay.
