The Lexington House

We have been here twice. The first was in early July 2024 and the second was yesterday evening, September 23, 2024. Our first experience was a strong 4. The service was good and everything we had was very good. Our second experience, last night, was really bad. We walked in to see if there was seating at the bar and we were immediately told to go check with the hostess outside. There was nobody at the hostess stand/location. So we stood by it and waited. We were offered sidewalk or under the patio cover seating, we chose the sidewalk. Upon being seated, the hostess said they were running short on menus and it would be a few minutes. Time passed and nobody came out the table, but staff did attend to the tables on either side of us. I eventually got up and used my phone to take pictures of the menu posted on the wall. Coincidentally, about the same time, the hostess came back with menus. I inquired about placing an order with the hostess and was told that a server would be by soon. That never happened. So I went by the hostess station again and overheard somebody from the back come out and tell her to seat people slower because the back house/kitchen staff was/were falling behind. We waited a few more minutes, and departed without ever seeing a server.

This was a bit of a hotspot for downtown Los Gatos. We had a Friday night reservation and this place was full. They have inside and outside seating, heatlamps are in use outside to keep you comfy. The menu notes that the dishes are meant to share, they will be brought out when ready, and that their menu changes often according to the Farmer's Market offerings. I won't bother mentioning the dishes specifically as they may not always be available, but I will say that out of the 7 dishes we ordered, we only had 1 item that was good but the pasta could have been cooked a bit more to make it better. The other 6 dishes were spot on and fantastic!!The service was very good, everyone worked well together. The host was chatty and seemed to know many of the customers. You can tell people come back often. I will come back too.

I have been coming here for years and it is one of my favorite spots. Great cocktails and good food. I love the vibe and the owner is very friendly.

Great in every category - love the drinks by the bartenders. And Stefan is a great host. 5 stars

We went here on a Friday evening when we were not too hungry. we liked everything we ordered, Rhodes cucumbers were really great, the hummus portion was small but felt very fresh and it's a great appetizer on a day you want to keep it light. we usually like rice with fish, but our server suggested that Barraco's pasta may go just fine with Market fish, and indeed, it paired well. I would go again.

We had the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant!!!!!! Friend ordered a burger, the burger was out in 10 minutes. My friend and I split chicken, 30 minutes later we inquired and wait staff said it takes long. Another 10 minutes my friend called the owner/Mng over he wanted to argue told us menu says some items take longer. Our table was done eating. He asked what he could do to make things right and then said he would comp our chicken. Then came the waitress with bill and the chicken was on our bill. We explained that he was going to take it off. Mng returned argued and told us he did not say that, he argued that he told us he would comp a glass of wine. My third friend across the table said yes you said that. He continued to argue and cause a scene. My other friend asked if he was on drugs? he appeared strung out and behavior was bizzare. Proceeded to tell him we were going to walk out without paying and he said GO AHEAD! We had split up checks with our party of 6. We walked out. Will never give them business again! Not impressed with the food either! Horrible customer service!
