The Lariat is finally back open with Justin back behind the bar, love this dive bar, super friendly and a great place to hang with your friends. Theses types of bars are a dying breed and it's brilliant to have it back open. Updated with multiple new tvs for the games and still has the bigg shuffle board and pool table

Fun times, fun people, great drinks, great atmosphere, wonderful service, excellent location, convenient parking.

Jessica Y. = Credit card fraud!!!! Never pay with your card here! I always leave cash tips, for a number of reasons.I don't like pending charges.I was a server/ bartender (cash is king)Cash tips = unclaimed wages (extra money)Ironically I paid with 2 differ cards. The first was my cc which I charged a $5 Corona to. I left a $5 bill and wrote the word "cash" on the tip line. And $5 for the total.The 2nd card was my debit card when I returned to the bar after picking up a friend and bought a few drinks this time. My total was $30.50. Same ordeal, "cash" on tip line. $30.50 as total.So can someone please explain why Jessica Y. Decided to take an additional $5 tip from credit card and a $10 tip from the 2nd card like I would never notice...?The one thing I NEVER DID as a server/ bartender was steal tips. NEVER!!!!And anyone is anyone that knows me. They know I hoard receipts like there is no tomorrow. She choose the wrong one to steal fromWhat a first time experience for me and your establishment.Then the owner backs her up and says he can't see her doing this. We'll see it in the picture posted!

Historical landmark updated with a spacious and inviting bar. Great dance floor and sound system. Multiple screens to watch the game with your friends. The Lariat hosts our Thursday night APA San Mateo pool league. We had a wonderful time playing here on their beautiful table. Loved the hospitality.

Had a 60th party here. The owner Justin is the sweetest man . Great venue and everyone had an absolute blast.

Awesome throw back place! Had a private party and our guests loved the vibe, friendly owner and bartender, and the cocktails. Large place with pool table, dartboard, and shuffle board as well as room for a band and dancing. Highly recommend! Thx Justin and Jennifer!

Great neighborhood tavern. Lots of room and TVsFriendly staff. Pretty fair tasting snacks to nosh on.

Great place. Very low key which is what I like as opposed to loud with obnoxious drunks. He keeps those guys (and occasional girls) out. Bartender/owner Justin is a great guy. I see other reviews saying he only pays attention to friends. Simply not true. There's a saying, close mouths don't get fed and this is no exception. If you ask or wave him down, you will get served. He's not just gonna stare at you till you finish your drink like people want. He will walk up and down the bar to make sure you're good or if you need anything then go and resume conversation with customers whether it be friends, regulars or newbies like I was. Has been my go to place for a month and a half now and am saddened that I was in the area temporarily and won't be in as often. Do yourself a favor and hit this bar up. Quieter than most bars but great selection and plenty of food in the area!! Some of the regulars are great too. Not territorial like other regulars in other bars. Made me feel welcome as hell there. Go play pool with those guys. Lots of fun. Thanks a lot Justin. You are the man!
