The Happy Hound is a cute and cozy eatery with a few tables inside including classic diner bar counter seats, and a clean and inviting atmosphere. Came by on a Saturday evening, parking was easy in the dedicated lot, service was friendly and efficient, making me feel welcome from the moment I stepped inside, it took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready, and the food was amazing.I got the hell hound with no spicy angry sauce, and it was perfect. The toppings were freshly grilled, and all of the ingredients were full of flavor, the jalapenos adding a nice spice, a bit of saltiness from the bacon, and just a savory delight from the melted cheese and hot dog itself. Add to that a large serving of garlic fries, slightly crisp, thin cut and piled high, smothered in a generous amount of garlic sauce and grated parmesan, it was too much to finish, but an absolutely satisfying meal... the entire casual dining experience way better than I expected.

This place is not bad but also not good. Ordered 2 double patty burgers, onion rings, 2 soda and a hot dog and the total was about 50$ . The burger patties looked frozen and were tasteless. The onion rings look like the kind that you just buy and not battered in house. And about 8$ for a skinny hot dog. I understand this is old school style burgers but time has changed and y'all need to step it up a notch with flavors . The service is excellent and the people working there all seem very friendly. Also got tables outside to eat on a beautiful day! Unfortunately nothing special about the food that will bring me back here.

The Happy Hound is a nostalgic spot for my boyfriend. We were in the area and decided to eat at The Happy Hound for lunch. The private lot for The Happy Hound is very small, so if it's packed you will have to find some street parking. The shop itself is very small, probably only about 4-5 tables inside? I think there are some tables outside too and there is one gender neutral bathroom outside. We decided to order the happy hound, happy burger and the garlic parm tots. We enjoyed the happy hound more than the burger. Don't forget to ask for your hot dog grilled because I believe the standard is like a boiled hot dog. They definitely don't skip out on the toppings. There was a lot of onions on our happy hound. The Happy Burger was fine. The garlic parm tots were ok. They fry on them were good, but with the extra cost to make them garlic parm wasn't worth it because the garlic was very faint in taste. You're probably better off getting regular tots or fries. This spot is a classic and if you are ever in the area, check it out for a quick bite!

Wow, it's been ages since I've been here back in my 20s, to be exact! Lately, we've been exploring Los Gatos more often, and my wife suggested we swing by for lunch. I'm so glad we did. I got a delicious chili cheese dog and a cheeseburger, with a root beer float. Everything was just as amazing as I remembered. We'll definitely be returning soon!

Dog-gone-good! This small but mighty legend did not disappoint with their signature flavor bombs! The all beef dogs with chili and cheese were so amazing. The Happy Cheese Burger wasn't just happy--it was on cloud nine, with cheese and veggies high-fiving each other in perfect harmony. Sure, it left a trail of juice down my hand, but hey, that's just the burger giving me a flavor handshake. The fries and onion rings were cooked to crispy perfection. This spot is a must-try for any food adventurer. Be warned, there's limited parking and even less seating, so prepare for a game of musical chairs with your fellow foodies!

Outstandingly Delicious!Had lunch here today with a grade school buddy. He had a double Happy burger with cheddar and I had a single with mushrooms and jalapenos. The meat is super juicy and very tasty. Perfectly spiced and cooked! The produce was garden fresh! The bun was fresh and tasty. We had onion rings and fries too!Battered onion rings were very tasty. Just the right amount of satisfying crunch! The fires were think and crispy with a pillow soft inside.Delicious food either with wonderful service all in a cozy little restaurant! We will be back soon!

Good ol fashioned burger. Big portions too and fair pricing. Ordered a strawberry shake to finish my meal and was pleasantly surprised how balanced it was between sweet and tarty.

THIS place is fireeee! I recommend getting double dawgs if you want it to be more filling. The hotdogs and chillidogs are so flavorful. They're packed with so much. There's a lot of parking too and the place does have enough seating. GET the dawgs grillled! The person helping use pick and waiting for us to order was really nice too and helpful.Place feels like a retro hotdog place its quite nice.

Pretty good no frills hot dog & burger place in Los Gatos. My boyfriend has been wanting to take me there for a long time and we finally went. I got a cheeseburger and he got a chili dog and tater tots. They have little dum dum style lollipops to take at the counter as well. We sat outside in a cute patio area with Xmas lights. The food was ready very quickly. Idk how you'd know when your order is ready if you're sitting in the patio area. My bf stayed inside to grab the food. I was a little scared when I saw that the burger cheese is unmelted shredded cheddar but it actually worked really well. There was also a great burger sauce, crispy lettuce, pickles, and massively thick onion slices. Normally it also comes with tomato but I skipped that. The burger was tasty but super messy / difficult to eat. I ended up taking most of it home to eat with a knife and fork lol My bf's chili dog was good but nothing too noteworthy. The tater tots were very crispy, with a strong potato flavor. They really would've benefitted from some aioli though. Only ketchup and mustard were provided for them. Overall I had good food for a good price. I'd come back and try the corn dog with a side of chili for something easier to eat.

Happy Hound is that burger and dog place that's been there forever and every local knows and (most) loves. It's quite small, looking like it's from another time, and nothing like it's jumbo sized franchise competitors. The "Hound of Happiness" as my kids call it has been in our family rotation for over 20 years so we've seen it through ups, downs, fires, and ownership changes. The kitchen is tiny but well laid out with more fryers, grills, steamers, dog rollers, and prep areas than seems dimensionally possible. Tonight there somehow were six (SIX!) people efficiently working to get out food for a mini rush of customers. Our food tonight, a Happy Burger, Hell Hound, and fries, was all good but the Hell Hound with its grilled onions, grilled jalapeños and bacon bits stood out.The place survived a fire some years ago and the local neighborhood was pleased to see it come back. The space is now a little worn around the edges and could use some renovation but hopefully done with a light touch that doesn't subtract from its retro charm. We'll be back ... we always are!
