The American Bull Bar & Grill

Gayle and I met up with her son last Sunday over the NFL Playoff game between the Commanders and the Eagles. I guess I was a little more partial to the Philly team and might have preferred watching the Chiefs vs. Bills that followed. It was a fun outing in any event as we caught up over burgers and beer. We found The American Bull Bar & Grill under "Sports Bars Near Me" and it was a fairly convenient cab ride from our nearby hotel. We were happy to find a table in a pretty crowded bar area. Service was prompt and friendly, the food was surprisingly good, and the beer of course was cold and refreshing. Best of all was the happy interaction between Gayle and her Son, while I popped into the conversation here and there.

They were busy and so we sat outside. After waiting about 10 minutes, we realized nobody would come servie us so we left.

Great food, great service! The onion rings are amazing! Went here for lunch and dinner both times were great!

Solid bar and restaurant in the Burlingame area. TVs are all around the walls, which is a nice set up for game days. The food is regular bar food so nothing great but nothing terrible. I had the steak sandwich with onion rings. I asked for it to be cooked medium and got.... medium! The onion rings were nicely battered and crunchy as well.I wouldn't mind coming back here for drinks with friends or coworkers. It's a nice game day vibe and the service is on top of everything. Food is just ok and drink selection is pretty standard.

The best appetizers ever try the Chicken Wings it's really the best. If you guys are looking for that good old fashioned taste on Chicken Wings this is the place to be. Order it now, you can even order it to go. Very highly recommended on the Chicken Wings!

Was heading home from work. Tired. Hungry. Sore. Cold. You know. Typical Friday. I was craving baby back ribs. Remembered having some super tasty ribs from American Bull a few years ago. So I called. A nice lady took my order. Told me the total and told me "15 minutes." Perfect ! I'm about 15 minutes away. I get there. Food is bagged up tight. I pay $32 for a rack of ribs , mashed potatoes and chili. Lady seemed on point so I took my food and headed home. I'm so bummed. No chili. The ribs were awesome tasty. Mashed potatoes were yummy. Sure woulda loved to try that chili. She even asked me if I wanted cheese and onions on it. Which was a sure fire way to get me stoked for chili. Gosh I wanted chili. Ima say chili a few more times. Cuz. Chili is super important. Especially when a person pays for it and is excited to have chili. No chili is a damper on a Friday when you order chili. So. Chili !! Even if the chili was a hot mess I woulda given 5 stars cuzza the ribs. But. No chili. 2/3 of an order paid for = 3/5 stars. It's simple Yelp math.

Walked in at 4:00 on a Friday and the place was packed and very loud. Snagged 2 seats at the bar and was helped by Freddy. Fast and friendly service. He's half Filipino, bonus points for chatting with him in Tagalog! Noticed plenty of folks who seemed like regulars--this definitely feels like the neighborhood Cheers. There are tvs for every which person who wants to watch a little bit of everything from the standard ball games, to horses, gymnastics, even a keno-style game. This place has it all covered. It's fairly small so I'd imagine how crowded and chaotic it can get. The vintage aging memorabilia on the walls shows that they've been around for a while and a nice callback to earlier times. Curiously we tried a plate of lumpia which Freddy proudly states have been hand made by the same lady for 27 years. Pretty good, nice and crispy with pork, shrimp and veggies inside. They serve with some sweet and sour but I think they can turn it up a notch and consider including the vinegar SAWSAWAN, if you know you know. Ambiance felt kind of dark and dingy but given its more of a divey sports bar, I guess it's not meant to be glamorous. Still on the fence about returning to this one...

Good food, and great service. Excellent happy hour specials. I had the pork sliders and half order of fires. I'm bookmarking this place!

We were staying at the SFO Marriott nearby and wanted to watch Sunday Night Football at a neighborhood bar similar to the "dive" bars we're familiar with back home. This place certainly has that atmosphere and very good televisions that can be viewed from anywhere you sit. The service was excellent and the beer was cold. We ordered the Bull Sampler and some Cheese Sticks. It really was a lot of fried food, but standard fare for a sports bar. Did I mention that the beer was cold and the TVs excellent?

Pleasant atmosphere and service but incredibly noisy and crowded. Food was mediocre. Absolutely no compelling reason to rush back
