Southern Kitchen Coffee Shop

This is one of those hole in the wall locations you keep to yourself and only bring people you really trust here. I've enjoyed almost every item on the menu and the stand out to me is always the biscuits and gravy!Southern Kitchen is a triple threat, service here is fast and the food is fresh, and the coffee is strong.

Simple homestyle meal! Quick service and humble ambience. Will be trying the menudo next time!

This is what you called a comfort food. Every bits make you think of home. Family oriented surrounding and service is ok. They service better when is slow and behind in service when it get to busy.. but that how restaurants are. Go try it , you will love their home style cooking.Here is my scoring card for this restaurant:1) Location: ( 4 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. The parking for street back side with parking lot parking. But be carful, the drive way is very tight.2) Decoration : (3 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean.3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . ( must be inflation )5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of American food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in down south. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's needOverall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Amazing food and service.. great breakfast .. not to long of a wait.. I would recommend this place to anyone from out of town..

Service was slow but food came out quickly. Hashbtowns were a bit overdone. Had to ask for drink refills. I had the seafood omelette which was good. Biscuit and gravy was mediocre at best. I don't think we'll return

Wonderful breakfast place! The server's are super attentive. My coffee or water cup never went empty! The portions are great for the price. We tried menudo and chocolate chip pancakes. All worth of coming back. I can stress enough how friendly and happy the staff looks. Food was delicious. They have outdoor and indoor seating.

The service was amazing. They were friendly. I had ordered take out and food was served quickly. My friend.said the biscuit and gravey, fried chicken and egg was ON point. That he hadn't found southern food that was on point like this anywhere else in San Jose. So thank you.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious, still one of my favorite breakfast spots. The portions are very generous as well.

Came by to check out. Been here before when it was swamped couple of years back. My wife was with me for breakfast and saw they had a coulotte steak with eggs. I had this steak at 4th street diner, as well as Mil's Diner in Milpitas and Country Way in Fremont. A really great piece of steak. When it was served from Southern Kitchen I was in shock. Thin and mostly fat. The meat parts taste ok but it was no coulotte. The service was good but I just didn't want to tell the server how bad it was. I just ate as fast as I could and got out. My wife was laughing at me for picking the place and having a terrible piece of steak. No thanks. Next day I went to Mil's Diner and talk to the waitress there and she even say the place has gone down hill. I will post a picture of Mil's diner coulotte steak on here so the cooks at southern kitchen has a clue.
