Inside and poolside at the Hotel Paradox. Remodeled and refreshed. Food is very good. We had breakfast and the breakfast burritos or classic breakfast were a pleasant surprise and great way to start the day. Friendly, relaxed service.

Second stay here. Had appetizer on arrival. Beet hummus with crudities. All good except celery was a horrible presentation. See picture. After getting settled in room. Returned for dinner. Both had fried chicken sandwiches with fries.Fries as great as we remember them. Could eat just a plate of them alone. Service was great and food arrived promptly.

The restaurant is part of the Hotel Paradox where we stayed. They offered a full menu that you could have at the pool or inside the restaurant. The food and drinks we had were both flavorful and the portions were good. They accommodated for every dietary restriction and the service was attentive. The only thing that I would note is that I would've liked a little bit more meat in the dish. The ratio of rice to meat leaned more towards rice.

This is our third or fourth stay at Hotel Paradox and one of the many reasons we love it is the terrific restaurant that has poolside dining with absolutely fantastic food. Brunch, bigger-than-tapas plates perfect for a poolside nosh, s'mores that elevate the campfire experience to elegant dining. A mid-afternoon drink? I'll have a Live Oak Bramble with bourbon, lemon and local blackberries, please. It is vacation, after all. Chef de Cuisine Beto Perez puts Solaire on the map of dining spots in downtown Santa Cruz. He's crafted a menu that highlights local produce with select items that have an Asian flair. It's California cuisine with a playful and inventive twist.Even if you're not staying here, come to Solaire for a drink, brunch with friends or an elegant dinner with moonlight and the best of California in and outdoor dining in this scenic and serene spot.

The Hotel Paradox!! amazing place to stay or just visit! Beautiful lobby and everyone is so nice. The pool is the perfect family place and the food is killer! Shrimp tacos with kimichi cabbage slaw and the best salsa for the homemade chips. The pork belly bao buns were decadent. The ahi wontons were fresh and crisp.... And drinks were strong and delish! They have fun pool parties all summer! Check them out! Great "staycation/daycation"

Decided to eat at the hotel. The restaurant nicely opens to the outside pool, yet the ambience needs some background music. The Caesar salad was portioned way to large and the Spicy Crab Bombas were very tasty and I ate them all. Service was great.

Came to test the eggs benny because I consider myself a bit of a snob in that regard, and although the hollandaise was a bit thin for my preference, the service was stellar! My server Mary was on point with the refills and the chit-chat! She was quick but never made us feel pressured.

If I could give more stars I would! I am a celiac and am super sensitive to cross contamination so my ability to eat out is VERY limited. However I had the best experience here today. From the hostess, to the wait staff, to the kitchen; every person in the restaurant was made aware of my allergy and helped me stay safe. Our server, Cheyenne? Cheynna? I feel bad for not knowing her name because she specifically deserves a huge shout out. She came back to double check my allergy order and also confirm toppings for my chia pudding bowl. I would highly recommend this place for anyone with an allergy for your safety and their protocols they have in place. Also without an allergy, my friends I was with raved about their food as well.

I was a guest in the hotel, trying to get a drink around 9 pm, on Christmas night. Nobody was around for the first few minutes, then the waitress ignored me another few minutes. I just sat at the bar, curious to see if anyone would let me get a drink. Dinner ends at 9, bar closes at 10. Supposedly. Snotty nasty waitress eventually told the bartender who eventually showed up "make sure you let her know that dinner is OVER", or something rude like that. I told the bartender "make sure you let HER know I don't want any dinner, just a drink. Is that not something that can happen here?" He said yes, but first he has to get someone to cover the bar (????) and other BS, and at this point, I gave up in disgust and just went and sat in the hot tub instead.
