Came here on a whim. Was in Palo Alto with a friend and we were looking for a post dinner cocktail. Scotty's was nearby, so we decided to try it out.It's a small place, and I don't remember seeing it here before - so might be new, or I never paid attention.It was a Sunday evening and there weren't too May folks in here at 9pm. Might be the rain was downing things a bit.They definitely know their whiskey and have a range from budget to rare - spotted some hard to find Pappy's on the top shelf.The regular drams are priced normal for the peninsula, with multiple options below $20. Did not get a chance to try the cocktails - so will probably be back for that. Attentive bartender, who made sure we got what we needed. Would have hope that this place would be more happening - but maybe that's for another day of the week

This place had Pliny the Younger and a chill af bartender, let's goooooo. I can't vouch for the food because I didn't have any, but it's a relaxed atmosphere and sometimes that's all you need.

Solid local bar. Cocktails are all well executed and they have a great collection of spirits.

Super laid back dive bar in the middle of downtown Palo Alto. Drinks are cheap and they have basic cocktails but it's a great spot! They also have a food menu or chips! You're greeted upon arrivals and drinks come by quickly. Unlike other dive bars I've been too the floors and seats are clean :) Would visit again!

A nice little dive bar downtown my friend and I came right when it opened and the cook wasn't there yet (they arrived soon after us) so there was a tiny delay with food but it wasn't a bother, I enjoyed my drink and conversation as I waited. The food and drinks was relatively good and very affordable, I loved how moist yet crispy the buffalo wings were-happy hour is clutch. I Didn't catch the bartender's name (he mentioned he was new) but he was cheerful and attentive (first thing he did was give us a cold glass of water without me asking/as we cooled down) he also allowed my friend to park her bike indoors since there was nowhere to lock it outside which I appreciated. It's really the little things that makes all the difference to me. Before we left if started to get more busy, I imagine plenty of people come here. I enjoyed my experience it was relaxing.

Very quiet Tuesday happy hour. Nice patio in the back with a TV! It gets cold so bring an extra layer. The bartender is awesome! Friendly and attentive. I wanted more ambience and people but perhaps weekend maybe are better?Bartender said stay next time for dinner since they have great food. Ok will do!!!

Scotty's Bar & Grill will be my new go-to place to have a cold drink, get a delicious bite to eat, and have a good time with friends. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Everyone has a smile on their face and the staff is always looking to make your experience memorable. I had the meatball sandwich - delicious I also had some wings - crispy, juicy, and tender. I was drinking Macallan 18 on the rocks and it was served with the same lovely smile as my ice cold Stella. Thank you for making me and my colleagues feel right at home. We will be back.

There was just a rat by our table!!! Disgusting, and they didn't even do anything about it. I don't know if I have anything else to say really, the bartenders are fast I guess? Didn't try any food. It's also pretty stuffy in here, after a hot day there was like no ventilation needing us to keep taking air breaks to survive hah. Probably wouldn't go here again.

Sergio the bartender was AMAZING. My girlfriend and I went in to Scotty's after dinner and he was extremely welcoming and super funny. Definitely one of the best bartenders we've been around. The drinks were really good but get to know Sergio and your night will be filled with laughter!

I love Scotty's. It's my new place. Just wish more folks would come hang out and increase the energy. Staff I great. Food is unique, delicious, and affordable.
