Romolo's Cannoli

Holy Cannoli! I was stoked to discover a local hidden gem in the Bay Area dedicated to cannolis. I've had decent cannolis before, but the best one I ever had was on the East Coast. This shop is cute. You have ice cream and desserts in the fridge. For cannolis, you can choose between a mini or standard size, with options for a plain or chocolate-dipped shell. The fillings include original ricotta, pistachio, and chocolate.I loved that they made the cannoli right in front of me, ensuring it was freshly prepared. With the first bite, you get a satisfying crunch and this is exactly what a good cannoli should have. I did notice it gets a bit soggy if left in the fridge, but that's not a big deal. Overall, I'd definitely come back when I'm craving a cannoli!

We've been coming to Romolo's Cannoli for years whenever we are in the area. Cute, nostalgic shop where they make the best cannolis and they also have DIY cannoli kits! Also their icecream is pretty darn good. We especially like their strawberry and spumoni. Granted I never liked spumoni at other places BUT you have got to try it here! Spumoni is made up of Strawberry, Pistachio, & Almond icecream with finely minced nuts, cherries/fruit mixed in. It is soooo good!The customer service IS always nice, friendly, and helpful. Today, I stoppednin and Paige was nice, and so sweet. Thank you for your welcoming smile and great attitude!They have a few tables inside to sit at.Come support your local business! Stopped by for a sweet treat and the cannoli really hit the spot! There was no wait when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. They have a variety of fillings and topping options, making this a fun make-your-own treat. They also have other desserts like ice cream, Italian cookies, and tiramisu. I got a traditional shell cannoli with the tiramisu filling and pistachio topping. I like that filling inside is not too sweet, and I enjoyed the texture combination of cream and the crunchy shell. Will definitely be coming here to try more flavor combinations!

This is very nice cute cannoli spot in San Mateo that one must visit if you like Cannolis! My fiance and I were taking a walk around the area and decided to swing by for dessert. This is a mom and pop shop and we got to meet the current owner who said this store has been running for over 50 years! Turns out his grandparents started it. The owner was super duper helpful and we ended up ordering:* cannoli with ricotta filling and pistachio/chocolate topping. This was delicious, fresh, creamy and crunchy* ice cream cannoli - we got this with the vanilla toffee ice cream and gosh, my fiancé finished this before I could say holy cannoli!! You can see how yummy it was. Overall the food was great and as someone who hasn't tried the ice cream cannoli I personally really enjoyed it. Would go back for more!

There aren't many Cannoli shops in the Peninsula, like shops specifically dedicated to quality, freshly-made, Italian Cannoli's. But walking by this place and the authentic Italian curb appeal it gave me, I was enticed to try it out with the kids. They of course opted for the ice cream, which they devoured while sitting on the cafe tables inside. I couldn't decide what I wanted, there's so much to choose from as a first timer here. So I went for their mini cannoli. They basically cut in half a regular longer cannoli, I wasn't expecting that. I chose the regular filling with pistachios and chocolate chips on each side. The shell was perfectly crispy and the ricotta filling not too sweet. A good portion for me. It was satisfying! It would be fun if they had more options for flavors of the ricotta filling or for the garnishes. I love the option to buy an ice cream filled cannoli or other treats from their fridge. You can even buy a cannoli making kit so you can fill it yourself at home. I had so many questions because I hadn't tried a lot of the treats, but it was hard to find someone to ask that wasn't busy doing something else, even though we were the only ones in the shop. Check out their story posted on the wall. I love this personal touch! I'd go back. Looking forward to trying more treats here.

Wonderful cannolis in the Peninsula! The staff is so nice and accommodating as we had a bunch of questions on placing a bigger order. I like how they offer mini sizes! I suggest eating day off as the shells do get soggy (unless you like it soggy lol).Definitely give this local business a try!!

Stopped by to pick up our dessert for tonight--Cannoli! The owners started it over 50 years ago & it's one of the only authentic Sicilian-Italian Gelateria and Pasticcerias in the Bay Area. I don't seek out Cannoli's & have tried Carlo's Bakery Cannoli's as of a few weeks ago so I couldn't tell you what's good? My brother likes Cannoli's so we ended up buying 1/2 a dozen, all dipped-Chocolate within the lining of each. We got 2 Almond cream filled, 2 Chocolate filled & 2 Tiramisu filled. 2 were dipped in chopped Pistachios on both sides & the rest were dipped with Pistachios on one side & Toffee on the other. That was an ingenious decision on my brother's part!The young female clerk was very helpful explaining our options for fillings & dips. You could purchase a full size Cannoli or 1/2 size as well. Ours were full sizes. It's nice that they make them to order so they're fresh!!The shop has ice cream, Spumoni, frozen Cannoli, frozen chocolate dipped bananas & other creative desserts to choose from.

One of my favorite desserts ever - the ice cream Cannoli! The delicious ice cream with the still crunchy cannoli shell is something I keep coming back for. So glad this place has not changed over the years. The original retro vibe is so nostalgic of my childhood.

I could wax poetic here, but why? It's the real deal. If you like cannoli, it's sitting here in San Mateo with authentic Italian cookies and cannoli. The gelati is delicious. The cannoli kits are so much fun. You buy the kit and fill at home when you want to serve knowing the shells will be perfectly crisp. And they actually know what a cannolo is and won't correct you, like other places. "I'd like a panino, please." "You mean a panini?" Ugh! If you know Madonia Brothers and are dreaming of Arthur Avenue, roll on over to Romolo's. You won't be disappointed.
