Came to buy a Hawaiian torta on a Fri for lunch. Overall impressed with the selection of pan dulce and cakes but the food was fairly disappointing. The Hawaiian torta had all the ingredients one would like but the bread was soggy and didn't really hit like other tortas around town. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Well-kept, clean establishment. Staff was amicable and quick to serve.

Solid panaderia with great tamales. I luckily came around 2pm and they had freshly put out a new batch of tamales. They were $4 a piece i think. They were huge with a good balance between masa and meat ratios and the masa was moist and fresh tasting. Very good. I was getting banh mi's and ferment pork loaf (nem chua) next door and popped by since they had a sign regarding tamales outside. Solid, good not amazing but good enough for a quick fix. They had prom, chicken, cheese/jalapeño, and corn/raisin. Give them a try

They have sooo many different types of pastries - total eye candy! The problem we encountered was we don't speak Spanish, so, we couldn't really order anything with confidence. We randomly selected 2 items to try. A cannoli looking bread and a cookie top bread. Both were just OK and a tad bit on the dry side. We were expecting something special but didn't get that.NOTES: Large parking lot. Hole in the wall.

I list pain $7.40 for 2 pigs and 2 pink cookies. First time and last! The cookies were hard as rock and pigs lacked taste too.

I gave this panaderia a try since I was nearby getting banh mins anyways. I saw the reviews and figured it couldn't be that bad. I was mistaken. I ordered their bread, my favorite is the la crema which is a triangle pastry with custard inside. It was so sweet! Too much sugar in the custard that I had to discard half of it away. The conchas were very oily to the point that the paper bag that it came in now is soaked in the oil. Overall, the bread was just too sweet and the dough was crumbly, not smooth like I'm used to for the pastries. One good thing was that they do accept credit. But for their pastries, I wouldn't come back.

Average 3 stars. Very nice, friendly staff but it's just not worth 4 stars..3.5 for the Carne Asada Torta (Mexico Bakery's is bigger, with fresher bread and more generous fillings and remains my fave). If I worked or lived right by here I'd come back for it though. The baked goods were hit or miss. Some fresh, some old and stale. They do bake everything fresh in house. But they bake too much at a time and don't have enough turnover to sell them in time.Custard bread - 2.5. I love anything custard so i bought two. One was fine, one was dark yellow and dry with stale bread.Jelly roll was 3.5. It was fresh, but not as soft and fluffy as Mexico Bakery's. However it's the perfect amount of sweetness and fruit jelly.I didn't try any of the cakes because i couldn't find Tres Leches. I'm sure they could make a decent tres Leches cake if you called ahead though. The bakery is very authentic and you know it'd be made fresh.Mexico Bakery still holds my heart when it comes to Torta and bakery goods. But the Torta here is still pretty good. I'm just picky

The bread is good here, but they close before closing time which is not cool cause I wasted my gas. What's worse is that we were almost at the door when they saw us and turned off the lights.

If I could give this place a zero I definitely would. I am a big fan of pan dulce and have been to over 100 bakeries in my life so I won't say it's the worst I've tried but so far the worst in San Jose out of around 8 that I've tried. I tried 5 different breads and I would say only one was semi good so definitely skip this you'll just be disappointed
