"What can I say? I've never met a cupcake I didn't want to get to know better."―Jasinda Wilder, Big Girls Do It BetterThe owner of this establishment, Jeanne, has been slinging cupcakes for over 11 years throughout the South Bay. Beginning her career at various farmer's markets throughout and finally as her own brick-and-mortar shop. She specializes in all manner of cupcakes, including those made for customers with dietary restrictions, namely vegan and gluten-free.We got to sample some of her wares and each cupcake was more delicious than the next--esp her vegan red velvet! I dare anyone to be able to notice the diff between it and her standard cupcakes. Each one is moist, delicious and packed with flavor.Full List of flavors:-German chocolate-Black & white-Thin mint cupcake-Carrot Bundt cakes-Guava filled cupcake-Red velvet Bundt cake-Mango & Coconut-Carrot cupcake-Espresso mocha cupcake-Vegan Red Velvet cupcakes-Vanilla Raspberry cupcakes-Lemon cupcakes-Chocolate Sundae CupcakesTo order:-Call 408.221.4540-Visit polkadotzcupcakes.net-Message them on IG or FB @polkadotz.cupcakes-Visit their storefront at 1175 Redmond Ave, SJ (Next to Charlie's Cheesecakes!)They are talking walk-ins if you don't feel like ordering ahead. Light. Cute. Perfectly sweet. This place just opened and OH MAN...just one more reason to come to SPSM, maybe I should set up a tent there since I'm there almost every day lately. The mini cupcakes are $2.50 each. On their business card it says $30 for a dozen but on their website it's $24. Which is it??? Maybe I'll just order online then! They also have "push-up" cupcakes (I didn't see these when I was there) and also gluten free cupcakes. I had the burnt almond and the banana/Nutella cupcake and I am a fan! They were so yummy I can't wait to go back to try other flavors! Eeeeek!FYI, they are brand new and have not had a grand opening yet. They don't have hours posted. The guy said they're only there Friday through Sunday...or something like that. I went there on a Saturday around noon and they were not there. Booo. I'm so excited, I can't wait for their regular business hours!

These cupcakes look fantastic and taste even better! The owner, Jeanne, crams a lot of love and attention into every cupcake and I love to cram them into my mouth.

I love these cupcakes! The burnt almond is my favorite. I have tried them all and they are all good to great. Like another reviewer said "Light, cute and perfectly sweet." At $3 each, they're a little pricey but I need it. The red velvet and banana nutella cupcakes are also memorable.I read some reviews about how the cupcakes weren't moist enough. You know what's moist? SpongeBob SquarePants, The Philippines and my armpit. I don't want damp cupcakes. These cupcakes are not dry, they are perfect. I like Love's Cupcakes and Kara's, but these are my favorite!

I was deeply disappointed by the service of Polkadotz. I was planning my 30th birthday party in the San Pedro Square Market and wanted to create a menu from all the various vendors in the market. I decided to order cupcakes from Pokldadotz as part of that menu. After placing the order over the phone and providing payment, I was immediately charged for the total costs of the items. All of the other vendors said that they would not charge until day of when they would actually provide the food and service, but I still didn't mind, since it was only a week until the event. I called several days beforehand to once again confirm the order and ensure the right flavors. I spoke to the owner who confirmed she would have everything handled and said would make sure the cupcakes were delivered by 5pm. On the day of the event, I waited until at least 5:30pm and the cupcakes were nowhere to be found. So I then attempted to call the number listed, and only received voicemail several times. I left a few messages and continued to call persistently and still no response. My party started at 7pm, and my menus were preprinted to include their logo and my dessert choices, that were now, no longer going to be served. It was quite embarrassing to tell my 40+ guests that portion of desserts weren't delivered upon. I didn't receive a call until later the next day, with only a simple apology and blame that the cupcakes were delivered to an entirely wrong location. Granted that my event was 3 ft in front of their own storefront in the Public Market venue. I have no idea how the vendor could have delivered it to the wrong location after several confirmations, but yet, what was done was done and I demanded a refund. I then receive another call from another representative the next day once again apologizing, but now also requesting for my address as she had no idea how to issue a refund. Mistakes are made, and I'm usually a forgiving person. Had it not been for my preprinted menus or the very thought that I had already prepaid for these items, I would have not been as upset, but the fact that everything came into play, with such unprofessional service, makes me weary to ever recommend on relying on them for anything in the future. I did everything I could have to ensure that my order was correct and even proactively confirmed, which disappoints me even more that a business would be so disorganized. Thank you for ruining part of such a beautiful day for me Polkadotz.**Update** They were kind enough to respond to me with free cupcakes for a future order. It is nice that they are attempting to make good on this, even it it required me to write a bad review first.**Update 5/21/13** After contacting them to place an order for the free cupcakes, they never even responded to my email! Since they no longer have the store front in San Pedro Square, I assume that they just went out of business entirely. With their customer service skills, I can see why that happened.

So I've seen the makings of this booth for a month or so now. Today I saw the goods outside but no one there. Do I just grab a cupcake and leave money? there's a phone #, so I called and a woman answers. I ask here the same thing, and she says her son's there to take care of things. She says she'll call him and as we end our conversation there he comes by....so I get a banana cupcake and make my way. They're kinda small but they pack some good flavoe..

The cupcakes are not bad, decently moist and tasty but the burnt almond was a bit too sweet for me. They charge $2.50 for a pretty small cupcake and are going to raise the prices to $3 each. I'm not sure if it's worth the price unless if they come up with some more unique flavors.
