After hearing so many friends rave about this bakery, I had to check it out for myself. Since I was already in East San José, it was the perfect opportunity. They have an amazing variety of Colombian bread! I decided to try the Hojaldre de Pollo (Chicken Puff Pastry), Guava & Cheese Croissant, and a Mojicón filled with Arequipe (Dulce de Leche). Yeah, I got a little carried away, but I was excited!!The best part? The bread was incredibly delicious! You can really taste the buttery, flaky goodness and the love they put into every bite. This is the first time since living in the Bay Area that I've found something that truly tastes like real Colombian bread. For those who don't know, Colombian bakeries are unique because they offer a wide variety of both savory and sweet breads, blending different cultural influences like European techniques (French croissants, Spanish bread), Indigenous ingredients (cassava, corn), and African culinary traditions (coconut, panela, and more). It's the perfect example of how sweet and savory coexist beautifully in Colombian baking. And since they offer everything from pandebono and buñuelos to pan aliñado and ham & cheese croissants, I already know I'll be coming back for more!On top of that, the atmosphere truly captures the essence of a classic panadería--warm, welcoming, and filled with the irresistible smell of freshly baked bread. The service was also great, making the whole experience even better.

I really enjoy checking out small mom & pop shops and I discovered this bakery while waiting for my car's oil change service. There were both sweet and savory pastry options: $4 each or mix n match 3 for $10. I chose the chicken stuffed pastry, guava and cheese pastry, and the coconut bun. All items were delicious, light, and crispy with each bite. The guava jelly was sweet but overall still good especially with the cheese combo. These pastries satisfied my cravings for a quick snack. They accept credit card with a $0.50 processing fee. Also, they speak a little English and it certainly didn't stop me from selecting what I wanted and asking what's inside. The gentleman at the cashier counter was very kind and helpful. The ambiance is small, casual, and cozy and had a few tables inside for dining.

Small place with both savory and sweet pastries, but no empanadas and no coffee (maybe someday?). Only bought some sweet pastries on an impulse because I waiting for tacos from the nearby food truck. Tried buns filled with dulche de leche and guava, which were wonderful. Buns were fresh, pillowy but still structurely sound -- probably from milk? I might be wrong, but the buns had a yummy hint of milk or real butter. Guava filling was legit and would've pleased my mom, who used to make her own guava jam.Flaky pastry with guava was also great. The crust was satisfyingly crunchy with many layers but did not collapse into a hard chunk.New place, very clean. Staff is very friendly. I don't live nearby, but I want to go back and try some savory pastries and maybe a cake slice.
