If I could rate this place I would rate it zero stars. I tried getting some assistance but no one would speak English, and don't get me started with the pricing as everything is over priced! With today's economy I wouldn't be able to feed my family of 5 with their crazy prices. You're better off making the drive to somewhere else and getting a better quality and inexpensive product.

When the big stores like Costco, Nob Hill, Safeway, Lucky's, Walmart don't have what you are looking for. Always remember the MERCADO. Your neighborhood should have one. Most places in USA have these little stores that come in real handy specially when people are in a Panic shopping up and buying everything they see. This is one we have in our hood. Always comes in handy when we are looking for some specific item. This place is fully COVID-19 protocol. All employees have masks and gloves and shields are up and the floors are marked to help us customers with that Social Distance of 6 feet. They are fully stocked.

As sparse as this neighborhood is in Mexican grocery(Chavez Supermarket, via Monterey Hwy & Umbarger Rd is probably the next nearest location), especially since Mi Pueblo went bankrupt, Mercado seems to carry a limited supply of merchandise. They have a hot food deli, but don't prepare burritos or tamales. They're produce selection, also limited. Did I forget to mention how pricey they are?? I live about a half a mile from this location, but rarely shop there. I needed some soy milk one evening & it was nearing 10pm so I didn't have time to go elsewhere. I ended up having to spend almost $5 for a quart!!! Ripoff!!!Had I remembered when I was out earlier, I could've gotten it from Dollar Tree, off of Ford Avenue, or at Marina Food, off of Senter Road, both on Monterey Hwy. for under $1.50, out the door!!!

This little Mercado is very close by to where I live. The shining points of this market are the fresh produce and the meat counters. Everything else is somewhat limited, there is a meager canned foods section, and dry goods like beans and rice.I also really like the hot foods counter, you can get great carnitas, tamales, and an assortment of chicharrones. I always buy chicharron from this store, but lately for some reason they are overcooking to the point of burning the chicharron con carne. This used to be my favorite kind to buy. I asked one of the butchers behind the counter about why they are so burned and he said "it depends on who's cooking it" It's barely edible in my opinion. But strangely enough, they dont overcook the other types. Managment, if you read this...please don't burn the chicharron con carne. it was great until about 2 months ago.

All I have to say is that their workers are so rude and disrespectful, most of their stuff is overpriced, the cheeses are molded, the meat looks old not worth the price, expired merchandise, I don't recommend this overpriced store 0/10.

I am sad to write this review. I have been shopping here for about six years. However, this last year the products they offer are at a lesser quality. First, we purchased a whole chicken and when I opened it was bad. I took it back and the manager was blaming me. The second time, I purchased queso fresco and the bag and paper that they used smelled like fish. The third time we purchased salsa and it was spoiled. I pour this salsa over my meat and ruined everything in my dish. The last time, we purchased chicken salad and I served to my grandkids, they keep complaining that it tasted bad and I made them eat it. Not until I took a bite that I knew it was bad. I felt horrible for making them eat it. Thank God they didn't get sick. When I talk to one of the workers they were defensive and rude. I told them to check their fridge I was not ones asking for money or anything in return. I will never go back to that store again.

I lived in this area my whole life. I have always had a very bad experience and this store has ALWAYS been very over priced. I only go to this place as a LAST resort. My family and I need some quick groceries and wasn't able to find bolio bread and realized that it was by the door at the front entrance. I walked over with my hand basket and the security guard literally stood behind me. He was very rude and unprofessional and just gave me the a very uncomfortable nasty look. I was so upset that I started saying things to him payed for my things and didn't even get my receipt as soon as it said approved I just walked out. I have a lot of tattoos and I feel as though I was being stereotyped. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone!!!!!
