my sister and i came here one afternoon before going to the gilroy outlets. it was not busy and we were able to be seated shortly after entering. they handed us a menu, gave us water, and then came back to let us order. we ordered two different pastas (pictured) and a parm garlic bread appetizer (not pictured). all of it was really good. we really liked the bread. my sister's fettuccine had a very rich cheese flavor which we liked. my pasta was also really good and it was a vegetarian option (i didn't add chicken or anything). i also had leftovers which i took home and let my friend try, she also really enjoyed it! the inside is nice and they have lots of tables. overall, nice restaurant in the gilroy area.

My parents have lived in Gilroy for over 20 years and this was our first time dining at Mama Mia's. We came on a Friday night for dinner and got seated right away. We placed our orders- calamari appetizer, lasagna, calabrese, Mediterranean chicken, roasted pork chop tenderloin, and kids chicken tenders with meat sauce pasta. They gave us bread and oil/vinegar for the table. Service: We had been waiting for close to 45 minutes. Our waitress had only come by once while we were waiting, no update with our food. I asked if she could at least see if my toddler's order could be brought out first. I thought it would be common sense to accommodate little kids as I've never had a problem in other restaurants, but to my surprise, I guess it's not common sense after all. After I spoke up, my son's food magically appeared within 5 minutes or so. However, the rest of our order didn't arrive for another 20 minutes, which at this point, it had been over an hour since we placed our order. Mind you, the party behind us got seated after us (after our appetizer arrived) and got their meal way before us. Not sure what the hold up was. There was no update like, "I'm so sorry, your food should be coming out shortly" or "let me check in with the kitchen." Our waitress basically just dropped food off, dropped off boxes and our check. Didn't really do much more than that. Food: the calamari appetizer was smaller than I expected. All of our other orders were good though. Very generous portions. We had to take most of it home. The Mediterranean chicken was probably the only thing I wouldn't get again- too much lemon made it a bit too sour for my liking.

My first visit to Mama Mia's was steeped in anticipation, sparked by the tantalizing aroma wafting from the parking lot. I could almost hear my Italian family's voices in my head, reminiscing about authentic flavors and homemade recipes that have been passed down through generations. The menu boasted a variety of typical pasta dishes, sandwiches, paninis, salads, soups, and appetizers--everything that should evoke the warmth of a family kitchen.We started with the Bruschetta, but it was a lackluster disappointment, devoid of the vibrant flavors I expected. I opted for the meatball sandwich, hoping to experience the kind of culinary magic that comes from a grandmother lovingly rolling out meatballs each morning. Instead, what arrived was nothing short of an affront to my family's legacy. Instead of hearty meatballs swimming in rich marinara, I was served thinly sliced "meatballs" accompanied by poorly cooked peppers and an alarming absence of sauce. My heart sank as I pulled apart the meatballs, only to discover they were frozen--an insult to everything my family holds dear about authentic Italian cuisine. I could almost hear my ancestors gasping in disbelief at this culinary travesty. Disappointment lingered in the air, a stark reminder that some traditions simply cannot be replicated. 40 minutes to get a calzone and pizza is way too slow. It wasn't that busy on a Saturday night. Half the tables were empty at 625pm.Don't like the automatic 20% gratuity that wasn't clearly shown on the receipt I signed . I almost gave more thinking tip and included yet

I was looking forward to eating at an Italian restaurant, found mama Mia's on yelp so I thought I would give it a try. Time waited to be seated, 1-minute Time waited to place my order, 10-minutesTime waited until food was delivered, 25-minutes I ordered the chicken parmigiana. The breading on the chicken was burnt which took away from the overall flavor. The restaurant was classy even for the afternoon lunch I partook in. Cloth napkins and all. Overall, I was not impressed.

I enjoyed the pizza the most. The crust was good. Service was good. I wasn't a fan of all the tvs. Felt more of a sports bar. Outdoor patio might be welcoming during the warmer days. Fire pit looked inviting.Pizza didn't taste as good the next day...

Great service and the food is really great! I had the Salmon and hubby had chicken Parmesan. Both dishes were very good. They have a full bar and although margaritas don't go with Italian dishes they say. lol. The Cadillac Margaritas were spot on!!!!

The service was top notch. The food was all very good, everybody's order was correct, all of the food was hot. The one thing that really needs to be addressed is the men's restroom, it was absolutely disgusting. Aside from that, we had a great experience.

Best restaurant pizza in Gilroy. Love their build your own Calzone, don't forget to add the garlic. Always friendly service. Their remodeled patio is great in warmer weather.
